Deshaun Watson football IQ is out standing . He pay close attention to detail on what the defense is doing. Hat off to him in this TV interview; that is what a top tear quarterback sound and look like. I am happy to see that the Cleveland Browns has a smart QB.

I hope this helps people realize that SO MUCH of an individual player's stats rely on play calls, other members of offense executing perfectly, etc. Like that deep throw that went past kenny, I saw that and thought "ok deshaun made a slightly bad throw", but it turns out kenny was supposed to be heading toward the pylon, not the sideline. the more you know

@@YourGuySmiley A lot of actions are based on reads and then reacting to what the defense gives you. The qb and wr might not be on the same page when it comes to those reads. It happens. That's why team chemistry and solid gameplan principles are really important.
@@YourGuySmiley LOL Rusty, Kenny is doing a ton a things in a short amount a time, its kinda up to him to know where is is on the field. He does know Deshaun is gonna put that ball on the pilon. But becuse he was wtching the hipps of the defender and his feet to know exactly when to make the move to cross the defender up. He on this play just lost where he was on the field a little bit, and flattened the route out more then Deshaun expected. Everyone claps "Good D" in reality it was just a slight mishap by the offense.

solo DEZ are you dumb? Patrick mahomes wasn’t the reason we didn’t win in 2018. It was the defense, the fact that the patriots won the overtime coin toss, bob sutton, and dee ford. Plus Patrick mahomes was much better than Deshaun in 2018 and he didn’t throw an interception the entire postseason.

Watching this gives me chills, cuz the only part of the recipe we were missing was an overly competent quarterback who could make the correct reads on the fly. Not throwing shade at Baker, love him for where he took us and will always respect his game, but this is the level we were hoping Baker would elevate to, and why Watson is among the best in the league. Hope you get there too one day Baker, but this is our time!
Seems like he processes his reads a lot faster than Baker. There were so many plays Baker didnt read fast enough and by the time he threw it, the receiver was either covered or he took a sack.

Never saw a video like this with Baker.
He was doing great with Hyde and Duke Johnson and they were players that Cleveland moved on from. Imagine him running that offense behind Cleveland's present running backs, Njoku and Cooper to catch passes and a healthy line. It's no wonder they went after him and it's an obvious upgrade from Baker (who I love).

Mind blowing how he's ordering his reads before the snap.
His reading pre-snap is great. It's why he's allowed so much flexibility and control. I really hope with this new faster more versatile offense he takes a big leap this year. He needs to improve being able to identify when receivers with leverage are about to break out, he can seemingly be a tad slow there. Maybe it's just he still lacks a bit of vision and feel for the whole field. Maybe it's just because he was staring down Hopkins half the time IDK tho. All I know is he has all the right stuff, all the natural talent and most of the right acquired talent bc he has the work ethic. If he makes just a few improvements (that are definitely achievable for someone of his caliber) he could not only lead a very unstoppable offense for the next few years... but with some luck he could hang it all up as one of the GOATs one day.

Wow, it's weird seeing Duke and Hyde with the Texans. Now we have #4 and I'm not sure where the other two are. LOL. Great breakdown, and easy enough to understand for those new to playcalling. The RPO will become a staple for Coach Stefanski. He already loves boots/rollouts with Cousins/Mayfield. Imagine what he can do with a fast, true RPO QB.
Imagine what he can do with a QB that can actually throw from the pocket. The boots/rollouts stopped being effective when teams realized that Baker wasn't very good at throwing from the pocket and contained him to keep him from rolling out.
