crystal is lightning because of piezoelectricity. quartz crystals generate electricity under certain conditions. ever wonder why watches say "quartz" on them? that's piezoelectricity.
I think you might have the lore wrong a bit. AFAIK the elder races knew the dragons consume magic so they sealed away their magic in bloodstones which they would later use to gain back the lost magic after the dragons went back to sleep due to lack of magic to consume. When it was the mursaats turn they instead declined and found magics to phase from reality (probably into the mists) to hide from the dragons. The seers went to war over this and lost. The rest of the races were decimated especially the seers.
@@raptorhacker599 From what I recall all the elder races made a pact to seal their magic into the bloodstone then release it after the dragons went to sleep again. The mursaat decieved or defied this and used the weakened position of the other races to decimate the seers and presumably the other races.
To build on this, I believe the Jotun fled to the shiverpeaks but due to isolation and the loss of much of there magic, they sort of devolved into savages. The forgotten were weekend and fled to cantha where they eventual disappeared presumed extinct. The seers were presumably wiped out by the mursaat. The mursaat eventually came back to rule humans but that went downhill and they were defeated. And the dwarves turned to themselves to stone in a ritual to prevent primordus from surfacing.
saying the guild wars are not related to the plot is like saying the games name means nothing as the ingame lore states that after they ended the remaining guilds agreed to form the battle isles to handle all disputes between both theirs and future guilds the only 2 guilds that did not agree to this your the luxon and kurzick they were the two guilds that were from Cantha they were not involved in most of the guild wars but did help the people of their own nation for a time until events led to them becoming enemies over the events that caused the jade sea to become what it is in the game the other known guilds that did not join this group in the agreement became known as the sunspears and i cant remember the group that they were against
Crystals, not just in GW2 but in real life cultures, represent electricity because meany stones and gems have unique electircal properties especially quartz. And technically stones and crystals are by nature crystalline in structure. Crystal is actually a very broad term. They are called specifically piezoelectric minierals.
Arachnia. Arachnia is considered non-Canon. I don't know if it was even a predecessor to Dhuum in that it probably was not a death god. Just its powers were taken over by Dhuum and/or Abaddon.
Apart for shaping the geopolitical situation of the game, yes, there's no actual reason to call the game that, but I guess World of Tyria was out of question 😆
Make the Charr pay for the wall
I think out of all the ppl I have seen you did one of the best jobs bridged gw1 and gw2
even the length of the video is good
Good Job
You are Hilarious, thanks. I just wish some good souls could create a subtitle for people like me, who have english as second language.
The reason that the gods leave at 2:15 in this video is revealed in PoF! I don't think that's a spoiler, but I won't post the actual reason here.
I know! It was one of the most exciting bits of lore in the expansion :D
So why do they leave?
To get ice cream
@@WordsOfTheTeacher ice cream!

Why did the elders go extinct?

Actually, the forgotten were last seen in elona, not cantha
Cat antelope romans - best Charr description :D
0:33 what is he saying?
The crystal dragon Kraltorrik which crystal power are transformed to lightning power for some reason
Thank you!
Belly laughed at the ending
The trailer for the game is hilarious. "When I was a young girl, my father fought in the guild wars"
this plot point is never spoken about again
Mursaat literally said "Aight I'ma head out"

so they... decided to leave reality? thats either really nihilistic or really badass
Wasn't there a spider-like being that was the predecessor of Dhuum?

I find it aggressively hilarious that the actual Guild Wars are never important to the plot of... Guild Wars xD
Apparently there were 3 of them, but they're almost never mentioned in either game lmao

Steve, Soo won... pretty close tbh lol
We knew the name started with an S, at least since HoT.
Neighter Abaddon nor Dhumm are dead. They are just banished.
Thats not true and also confirmed by devs. Abaddon is dead and gone for good. Dhuum on other side is unknown.
