English explanation:
1. Looking inside the ear pad, sqeezing the sponge out of your way there are 3 initial screws. Remove these screws, then gently pry the ear pads off with a thin implement. Pads can be removed from the plastic braclet and replaced cheaply and easily.
2. When the ear pad is removed 4 new screws will be revealed for the speaker panel. Remove all 4 of these screw and be incredibly careful when removing this panel as the speaker is connected with short, incredibly thin wires.
3. Behind the speaker panel, again 4 new screws will be revealed, remove these being very careful not to damage the thin speaker wires. Once these are unscrewed. the back panel can be removed. IMPORTANT: As shown in this video, having removed the back panel, replace the speaker panel securing at least one of the screws removed in step 2. This will keep the thin speaker wire safe while replacing the battery.
4. You should now have access to the battery. The back of the battery is stuck into a plastic casing which it can be gently pried apart. Desolder the old battery and solder in a new battery.
This device is only compatible with 3.7v three wire batteries, live (red), neutral (black), thermistor (white). It will not function without a thermistor. The original 950mAh battery for this model was discontinued. The battery for model MDR-HW700DS is compatible, however this is a slight downgrade with an 800mAh capacity.
The maximum dimension battery that will fit the casing are:
Thickness: 5,00mm
Width: 37.00mm
Length: 59.00mm
Batteries which fit these dimensions are available up to 1300mAh at the time of this comment, allowing you to slightly upgrade these headphones maximum charge. The 950mAh was approximately 13hours of charge at maximum capacity whereas 1300mAh is roughly 16.5 hours. However, expect future degredation with use.

thank you for your really useful video... I can't find the battery anymore, what other batteries could I use instead of?
pls help... I have two sets, one is for daily use and the battery is at its end of life (the charge doesn't last more then one working hour)... the second one is brand new and as spare set, unfortunately I forgot to recharge for one year and the battery inside is probably damaged, when connected to usb red led blinks and dosn't recharge...it also refuse to connect to his base so unusable

The batteries linked in the description tend to sell out quickly even when they are restocked.
Please find a compatible substitute battery for the SONY MDR-HW700DS or search for a battery with the part number US383759, which is used in SONY Walkmans such as the NW-A25, NW-A26, NW-A27, and NW-A16, NW-A17.
@@mrtk that is the problem, the battery US383759 is almost impossible to find here in Italy... are there equivalent products I can use instead?
(seems even those Walkmans are not sold in Europe... so no spare parts)

If you have an eBay or Amazon account, you should be able to import batteries.

ゲームは繋いでいませんがDVDの繋ぎ方で記します。
DVDーー（HDMI）ーーTVーー（光デジタル出力）ーーMDR-HW700このように接続しています。
DVDーー（HDMI）ーーMDR-HW700ーー（HDMI）ーーTVこのようにMDR-HW700をセレクター代わりに中心で使用すると音ズレしませんか？？
TVを中心にして光デジタル出力すると映像と音が完全に同期します。ゲームにオススメな気がします。
GHz帯の設定はどうなっていますか？ サイドにある切り替えスイッチは2.4GHz帯と5GHz帯のどちらか固定がオススメです。5GHzがいいと思います。そして，他のスマホやPC等の無線機器を2.4GHz帯にします。
ヘッドホンへの電波を5GHzで使用した場合で， K-1タケルのファン さんのお住まいの地域がもしも気象レーダーの受信地域の場合は，電波が途切れることがあるようです。その場合はルーターの詳細設定からW52，W53，W56のどれかにチャンネルを変更して様子を見るといいと思います。基本はW52がいいようですがW53，W56でもノイズが消えて快適な場合もあるので地域によるとしか言えないです。
マンションやアパート，繁華街の場合は無線電波が飛びまくっていますので電波障害も発生しやすくそれが繋がらない原因の一つになっているかもしれません。
これらを変更してダメな場合は機器の故障では無いでしょうか？？ ご参考になればいいのですが・・・・
