Brilliant news. I haven’t found an EV specialist in the Cheshire/Manchester area and my local BMW dealer were terrible. I will be in touch when my next service is due.
As usual thoroughly thought out and well planned change to your base in London. My only advice would be to ensure your vans are either very discreet or very very well protected against theft. With all the parts and servicing kit on board would make a tasty morsel for any thieves out there (who may drive an i3).
Wishing you a very successful debut for this new, as bold as it is impressive, customer focused initiative. Hard to imagine how you could charge any less for distance, since all of the hours spent driving to and from locations are otherwise not billable for work performed, and the service vehicle itself will obviously have its own running costs, wear and tear, depreciation etc.
Home servicing, hmmmm. Fab idea, not least since it's pretty much unique. I do hope it doesn't impact your (small) team too much, in terms of work/life balance & mental health in general. This is one huge commitment you're (all) making here. Best of luck, all.
I’m surprised you’re going nationwide straight away, but I do hope it works out for you, and that one day you can open a second physical outlet, preferably in my town - as all your non-London viewers wish! As for van security, standard locks are rubbish, so it’s good that you’re aware.
How exciting for all your far flung fans….home servicing ❤ I’m London so will wait for news of your new site…..Iisi not due her service till 2026….good luck you all 👍
Great to see this. I may be mistaken, but I think in a previous video where servicing was being discussed, it was said that you could also service Mini Electric as they were technically similar to the i3. Could you mobile service a Mini? Thanks.
Excellent idea, an even better one would be for you to franchise the idea, Franchisee's would be issued with a fully loaded EVan and sufficient training to service I3's and other EV's. I guess it would help if they were already mechanically and electrically proficient. I would imagine you could manage at least 10 franchises to start
That is really great. I am from Coventry and would like to access the service next year Sept for my Rex. A general question how is the stopping distance of I3 Rex? I had a minor incident where the car couldn't stop in time and dashed the front car😢. Hope you could share some insight.
When you say the drive needs to be level. I think my drive is pretty level, but my wife raised her eyebrows when I said it was. So I got an app to measure the slope using my phone and it tells me it has 3 degrees of slope. Is that acceptably flat? What would be the max number of degrees of slope you could work with?
Hi can sombody help me will my i3 can it go on a mot break tester for the test keep getting different answers i have been told it will upset the car any help please.
Hi Thomas, we won’t be offering a static service option for a while. Regarding incline, please see if your car rolls at all when put into neutral (brake and handbrake off). If it stays still, that will be fine for us :)
The coding after the installation informs the on-board control units that a new battery is indeed installed which subsequently alters the charge / discharge behaviour to extend the useful life of the 12V battery.
Many congratulations 🎉 I will definitely be a customer but I am in Kent. Is this too far? You are the only people i trust with my i3. rex. How is that beautiful black labrador? XXX

agree! I have faced twice in two other cities in my expereince. I believe all local BMW dealers are terrible with the service!
There's plenty all within 30 mins of Manchester
That are as good as Wisely?

Good shout. Unfortunately this has been on our minds!

That’s fantastic to hear and the distance fee is more than reasonable! I look forward to booking yourselves for my service in April time!

Extremely interesting- I'm seriously contemplating an i3 after watching your videos! (Not quite ready to swap but I hope to soon!)
Good luck and best wishes.
Thanks! ☺️
Well this is good news! Given the limited lifting options for the i3, which mobile lifting equipment do you intend to use.
We’ll be previewing this in a few videos time :) it’s a simple but effective solution 😀
Awesome, will book my service soon. All the best with your new biz idea 🎉

Fantastic news!

Hi Nigel. If it doesn't start rolling away in Neutral, that should be fine! 3 degrees sounds doable in any event :)
Excellent!

Does the ground level need to be 100% flat. My drive has a slight slope.
I need to book service for end of January maybe you will have a fixed location by then.

I replaced my 12 v battery .. no need to code it to anything .

Thanks! 🤩
Kent is no problem - we are there most weeks actually.
Wellington is great, albeit constantly hungry 🐾 thanks for asking 😊
