Have you ever used cattapa or Indian almond leaves with your geos or any fish for that matter? I like the natural look of them. Haven’t seen any articles matching them with geophagus. Thanks!
Man, your fishroom makes me feel kinda crappy about mine haha not sure how you maintain so many tanks with such nice scapes and whatnot. Great work by your whole crew (I know its a family team haha)
The tours are amazing! I follow several fish tubers and you are one of my favorites. You and the wife make a great team and are ambassadors for hobbyists everywhere. I am new to UA-cam and recently became a subscriber not sure if you addressed how you guys do water changes but I would like to know. Automatic/Manual or combination the two?
So I got five Tapajos today about 6 hours ago and they have been staying in a corner of the tank for hours. I have driftwood and some Almond Leaves in and the tank has some tannins right now. Thoughts?
New fish can be that way. I wouldn't stress about it. Once they gain some confidence they usually come out (especially when they start to associate you with food).
I convinced my wife to let me set up a tank for the first time in years and the first time in our marriage....im so proud of myself for doing my research and getting some geos!
These fish are beautiful and fascinating. But I am always concerned that too many fish, and large fish at that, are in too small a tank. It is a question in my mind, and not a criticism. Is there a way of determining how much tank space larger fish need? Is it dependent on the species?
I have a group of 5 juvenile Geo Tapajos all around 2 1/2 to 3 inches in size give or take. At what point would you say you can properly vent them? I’ve only done it once now and they all look very close where it’s to hard to tell. Keep up the awesome work!! Thanks for helping my brain grow with so much fish knowledge lol much appreciated!
The short answer is - I don't. I know that sounds lame, but I just wait for the fish to form pairs and remove whatever fish aren't working in the community. Thanks for watching!
I had some pelvicachromis subocellatus a while back, but they all got old and died. I do have some newer kirbs that will be coming up in part seven. We have four different apistos - all will be coming up in future parts. : -)
In this part, the plants in the 150 and some in the 55 gallon tanks were fake. In the 55 gallon tanks the floating plants were real. Also, any plants in the 75 gallon tanks were also real.
🚨🚨 I found that if I move the more hyper/faster swimming fish at night that they accumulated to the newer/bigger tank much more easily.👍🏽 the darkness seems to be calming to them. hope that bit of advice is of some help.

You will be seeing rainbows soon! : -)
@@PrimeTimeAquatics Yeah!
I see geos, I CLICK
Have you ever used cattapa or Indian almond leaves with your geos or any fish for that matter? I like the natural look of them. Haven’t seen any articles matching them with geophagus. Thanks!
We have used them in some tanks - like them!
Beautiful tanks!
Really nice Geo!
Definitely my favorite!
Awesome fish again, I hope you have left some for the last two video’s 🤓
There are plenty left. : -)
Man, your fishroom makes me feel kinda crappy about mine haha not sure how you maintain so many tanks with such nice scapes and whatnot. Great work by your whole crew (I know its a family team haha)
Thank you! Fish rooms are always a work in progress. : -)
Tanks look great.
Thank you!

Thank you for watching! We actually have a playlist of videos out there that talks about how we do our maintenance.
Just love those setups. I was waiting for the oscar tank. Where's that?
That is in part 3!
Awesome!
Love all your tanks! Does any of these tanks have the stingray 2 light on it? And have you had any algae issues since you’ve had it for awhile now.
The first tank I show in Part 1 has a Stingray two and we have had very little issues with algae (it is a planted tank, however).
Prime Time Aquatics mine is not planted. Will that make a difference?
great
Thank you!
These fish are beautiful and fascinating. But I am always concerned that too many fish, and large fish at that, are in too small a tank. It is a question in my mind, and not a criticism. Is there a way of determining how much tank space larger fish need? Is it dependent on the species?
Yes, generally it depends on the fish - adult size, activity level, etc.
Love the 'Older' Fish esp the Geo and Red Shoulder. I intend to have a Tapajos in the next year.
My thorichthys maculipinnis just produced fry for me
That's cool!
what type of geophagus is that at the 42 second mark it is blue and red?
Geophagus altifrons
Your 150 is kinda like a retirement community for fish just like the 75
That's exactly what it is - just for bigger fish. : -)
Didn't you have some Pelvicachromis and Apistos?
I had some pelvicachromis subocellatus a while back, but they all got old and died. I do have some newer kirbs that will be coming up in part seven. We have four different apistos - all will be coming up in future parts. : -)
Awesome! I'm so excited!
i actually have a 150 with the same dimension, its pretty good for a reef.
Cool!
Are those live plants or fake ones?
In this part, the plants in the 150 and some in the 55 gallon tanks were fake. In the 55 gallon tanks the floating plants were real. Also, any plants in the 75 gallon tanks were also real.
Get those Geos some sand! 😃
Steph Velekei I know. 😀 I think I will move them at some point into a 125.
Prime Time Aquatics Just giving you a hard time. They are one of my favorites that you keep! 😉
I thought the uaru was the "poor man's discus"
Or maybe the discus is the poor man's discus? haha
🚨🚨 I found that if I move the more hyper/faster swimming fish at night that they accumulated to the newer/bigger tank much more easily.👍🏽 the darkness seems to be calming to them. hope that bit of advice is of some help.
Geeeeoooooooo!!!!!! 😍
i thought you had a geo.surinamensis so i bought my self surinamensis too...bcoz of the colour it has i made a mistake😢.
Trust me, you did not make a mistake - those fish are amazing!
👍
Your clown pleco is extremely gravid
Ya, Like I said, I haven't seen that thing in a year!
