Man, I love this guy! You have someone like king of DIY who cried and started a go fund me page because he wanted a dedicated space to have more aquariums, and then you have my guy Tazawa who's the real DIY king, fitting a tremendous amount of tanks in 1 room! Very very clever!
New to your channel. Love your fish room. I subscribed and will be looking forward to watching more of your videos. Very informative. Keep up the good work
This was a thoroughly enjoyable 25 minutes. If you are ever stuck for a video idea, I always like to see what equipment and supplies people have bought but no longer use.
Po the puffer with the African mudskippers is my favorite. Thanks for the update tour! It’s really fun to see how your fish room has evolved over the past few years. Excited to see your new projects.
Nice tour Zenzo, thx.. I had the 5 star generals when I was raising cichlids and you’re right, they’re definitely temperamental, but yet a colorful fish.
Very wicked boss I've been following up on your channel and I'm in aww, and out of words because I've admired your help and insights of growing experience of the aquatic hobby 🙏, thank you.
Great Video Zenzo , I’m Impressed with the Fish 🐠 Room Awesome 😎 Looking forward to see what’s going to be the Next Project, I’ve been a Subscriber for a few years and the Content just keeps getting better keep up the good work Bro 😎
Wish I had that much space, lol. I live in the bay area as well and was curious where you sourced your rock for the Julidochromis tank. I am setting up a 220 and a 75 so I need a lot and LFS never seem to have a good selection or quantity. Also if you have any suggestions for LFS or online for cichlids, Thanks
Those mbuna are massive, they look around 1.5 inches thick at least, I've never seen any that big, at an aquarium, there was a 2000g mbuna tank, and there cichlids weren't even that big
Lovely video! I am not a cichlid fan, but I have thought about keeping shellies’. Those gold ones are beautiful! Can you tell me what the scientific name is? I love the mudskipper tanks, those are amazing fish. I will have to find the videos you mentioned about how you built the paladariums. They are really cool looking. And I adore the gobies you have. Thanks for the video, it was terrific!
Zenzo, I still have my African mudskippers too. Mine are really big too ! 😊😊😊😊. I got mine after I saw yours. I ordered Indian mudskippers but they sent me African mudskippers!🙀🙀🙀
I was wondering if you can help me. I a have a 115 gallon tank and I have 5 lake Malawi cichlids, 4 different species of Parrot Fish, and a few Pictus catfish. I had 2 cichlids pass away a while ago and I was thinking about adding more but the aggression has been mild. I don’t know if I should add more fish, even if the stocking is a little low. If you have any advice it would definitely help. Thanks
Totally up to you. If you don’t have too much aggression, you may want to leave it as is. If you notice that some of the cichlids are beat up and hiding, you may want to add a few.
@@TazawaTanks thanks for responding there is only one that is hiding I was going to espérate the bully but I guess it might be easier to add one or two more. Thanks for your help.
Great fish room! Actually just got a used 125 to move my oscars and silver dollars into. What lights do you have on that tank? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!!
Hey man! Question: Do you fluctuate the salinity of your brackish systems? I bought some mangroves on ebay a while ago and the few in my fresh tanks do great but the few in my brackish figure 8 puffer tank all but died back. I'm wondering if it has to do with the concept that brackish areas are constantly changing their salinity levels so a constant amount in a tank might not do well. For the record, I do not have a little light on mine like you do but it's next to a window and gets indirect sun for 7 plus hours. Any thoughts?
I keep mine at relatively low salinity levels (usually 1.005-1.008). Plus, mine get a lot of light. Sometimes some will fail though. Not every tree that I’ve had has flourished.
WHEN HE SAID MOON GOBYS I THOUGHT THEY WERE GOING TO LOOK LIKE THE MUDSKIPPERS BUT WHEN I SAW THEM MY JAW DROPPED 😮😮😮😮 ALSO JUST GOT SOME RED HOOK SILVER DOLLARS FOR MY PAIR OF OSCARS
Actually, it’s the opposite. What I have are Brichardi, as they have the “T” markings. Pulchers have the “))” markings. Anyway, scientists now believe they are the same species.
I have done “dirted” tanks before. Those only work in specific situations, and would not work for the majority of the fish that I keep (most of my cichlids, brackish water tanks, etc.). Painting yourself into a corner with one type of ideology and system limits you on what you can keep and enjoy. My philosophy is that all types of systems have validity and a place in the hobby, based on the application.
@@TazawaTanks u can do many types of dirted tanks tho. To acclimate most fish. Salt water included. And for 90% of small hobbies a dirted tank is the way to go. Very little water changes if ur not feed ur fish too much. U dont have to worry about killing ur fish bc u missed a water changes. I have all types of cichlids and they thrive for years and I don't do water changes. The big box store methods are designed to fail if u dont keep constant maintenance. Gravel substrate is garbage. I love ur channel keep up the good work. And I wouldn't recommend using the mud or dirt from The Big Box store with a sand cap you need to go out and get Garden dirt or muck out of a lake or even promix put your nutrients in there obviously calcium-magnesium the Florida tabs work great I do a little bit of lime you will not fail the aquarium becomes balanced rather quickly to what the fish want and what the system needs you will have a self-feeding thriving ecosystem. no food necessary no water changes necessary after about two to three years. Ten twenty-year-old tanks are way cooler to me than a tank that needs water change and gravel vacuumed every month that's not what the fish need and millions of fish die in this hobby because of the big box store methods and beginners. ❤✌✌
@@Boogerboys1990 I think what you are doing is similar to what they do at Ocean Aquarium near me. The deep substrate is essentially the filter and houses anaerobic bacteria that eliminates the need to use a filter. I have seen these in use, and it’s fascinating. It does take some time to get established though. Thanks for watching and supporting my channel!

We need a mudskipper video every week 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼
Excellent job buddy I would be interested in some 5 start generals I have just a male left
You have a wonderful fishroom! How do the malawiciklids cope with the low circulation from just spongefilter?
The peacock tank has an FX4 canister filter. The mbuna tanks each have two sponge towers, and they do just fine.
AWESOME VIDEO, well said and delivered. On you brackish aquariums what specific gravity do you run at?
It varies. Normally between 1.005 and 1.008. Sometimes I’ll run the blenny tank up to 1.012.
Lot's of love from INDIA bro..🧡
Your peacock tank is beautiful
Always enjoy your videos. You seem to favor floating plants over planted plants. Is there a reason? What floating plants are you using? Thank You.

Great work. I would love to have a room like that, would love to just have 1 tank that looks like that

Gold Lamprologus Ocellatus
Awesome fish room! I love it! Particular the puffer and the mass of guppies. Just wondering can you keep only male guppies in big group? 😀
Thanks! You’d have to manually remove all the females, but it would only last until the males started to die off.

65 gallons. It is 36" wide and 18" front to back. I do not recall the height. Essentially, it is an extra tall 40B.
