Thank you for this meticulous masterclass on the Stitch & Glue technique, your videos help to instil confidence in amateur boat builders. Your tutorial cuts through language barriers and enables viewers to see detail, technique, application and method, all in meticulous detail. In your little garage/boatyard, beautiful craft emerge, each crafted with care and attention to detail. Thank you for producing such excellent videos.
Wow brother! This project looks to have taken you about 3 years this far. Such a beautiful creation. I appreciate your attention to every detail and the perfection you seek. Just awesome!
That was a well spent 17:36 of my life. You can tell youve done this before. Proper scarfing, transcribing lines, squeeging the epoxy and steam bending. Very nice job all round.
Very nice, Captain. Great job with the patterns - I hadn't seen some of these techniques before. I also hadn't seen two layers of bottom fiberglass at once! Keep plugging. My Navigator took 3 years, but It's not as pretty as your build (and I'm totally fine with that). Let me assure you, the first minute in your boat will make it all worthwhile.
Wow! This has to be one of the best series of videos I have seen on YT. Let alone on the topic of stitch and glue boat building. I am looking to do a very basic plywood boat (triloboat) but these videos are not only incredibly informative and succinct, but expertly produced. I applaud you on so many levels. Bravo!
Great vlog, even greater boat build. I have only built one boat in my life, but I admire anyone that takes on the task. You really put together a great little sailboat. Great idea for your steam box! You have a great pup and great way with the pigeon(squab). Shoot, I thought I’d get to see her finished and a maiden voyage. I’ll sub and look for more vlogs!
Wao bellisimo, además no sabía que se podían poner dos capas de fibra de vidrio de una sola pasada... Muy bueno eso... Me ahorrará tiempo en mi proyecto... Gracias por su tiempo y por compartir.

I want to build the old style European wood work/fishing boat. The v in the front and back with a little diesel in the floor close to the center. When you get ready for that let me know so I can watch you build it for me 😀
“Albin motor 021 in old Swedish boat relaxing Baltic ride” is a video with one similar to what I want except I don’t want the flat transom, I want canoe style.
Please forgive me for saying this But a little wisdom some times saves lives That boat although it looks very good and you did your best, Please do not take it out in any real rough weather The reason I say this Fiberglass although fairly strong, it has it's weakness Those seams you did along the bottom of the boat without proper support on them will eventually weaken, and you may find yourself with a torn open bottom, Fiber glass will eventually form very small working cracks. I've seen fiberglass rip off the wood and also form minute cracks where there is flexing, Watch the belly for those cracks to appear some time in the future depending on how much you use the boat, You may be able to lengthen the life of the boat if you can put some ribs lengthwise along those joints, And never use OSB for any boat works. If you don't believe me, Check with some accredited fiber glass boat builders,
Thanks for the advice. I will also ask the design maker for advice and share your feedback. I do plan to sail it aslo on open sea but not permanent of course
Este ejemplo me viene muy bien, ya que tengo que enfibrar un pequeño velero que estoy contruyendo y como no tengo quien me ayude voy a aplicar las dos telas roving y luego le voy a aplicar la resina como lo hace ud, saludos.!!
Boat is holding very well, unfortunately not sailed her too much. Next season I manager to get a berth on a large lake and will sail her seriously 😉. Will also post an update
Dear Captain. I wrote from Chile with my son we are looking for build a sailboat similar to my lovely sailboat when I was joung..your boat look like very similar. Unfortunately my boat was destroyed in a fire house...please let me know where we can download the full plans & build instructions also the necessary fittings to sailboat.... anyway very nice job hope your help soon.. best regards...
Here you go: www.selway-fisher.com/GPDinghyover13.htm#GFI I did not yet reached the fittings part but once i do i will share links to the parts. Enjoy the constructions! Your son is very lucky 😋
If you are building a Highlander 16’, note: the hole in the center board box for the bolt is below the water line. I found out the hard way. I moved it up about 3” without any adverse effects to the balance of the boat.
I felt it would always be a challenge to keep it water tight, plus if it ever failed while on the water we would be swimming home. I found out at the first launch. A lot of water came in fast.
I'm building a sailboat 11 foot to cruise the ocean. This was one of the best video the show everything completely so fast
Thanks and good luck with your build. I would be interested to learn more about your boat. 11 foot is not very big...

I like this country music theme music you have used as the background music to this video. Sounds really nice.
I love the twin-toilets idea at the back of the boat 10:52. Great video and thanks for sharing. Your hands are made of gold.
Hehe, thanks! They are not toilets 😜

That was the 17 minute compilation of what we've been watching for the last 2 years? Good job! On the video AND the boat!!
Yes. I had to change the welcoming video on the homepage
@@wulkie it's not finished. The completion of this vid should have been the boat floating on the water.
Yes. Stay tuned for that. I hope you are not in a hurry 😜
Love watching your vids. Was wanting to build, but soon realised it was going to cost more to buy the tools than build the boat, so now I just watch.
Agree. Building is for the fun. If you want to sail you buy one
looks pretty solid, 2 layers of cloth, nice work

the seams have 3 layers of glass and resin plus 1 properly epoxied fillet. i doubt many stitch and glue designs ask for more.

Thanks. Yes absolutely
If you are building a Highlander 16’, note: the hole in the center board box for the bolt is below the water line. I found out the hard way. I moved it up about 3” without any adverse effects to the balance of the boat.
Yes. That is a topic i did not yet tackle... would watertight epoxied bolts not work?
I felt it would always be a challenge to keep it water tight, plus if it ever failed while on the water we would be swimming home. I found out at the first launch. A lot of water came in fast.
Thanks for the advice!
Nice job. It didn’t appear that you overlapped seams in your glass during the layup.
Can I ask you what the 2 lots of glass done together is about? Nice designs those Selways
Sorry, i did not get the question. You ask why i put 2 layers of fiberglass?
Bravo!!! Când o pui pe Olt?
Bisztosh la anu!
What is the device to prevent the tableware and pot from falling even if the hull shakes?
I am not sure i understood the question. There is no gimbal on the boat, if that is the question..
Hello, can I ask for permission to get the boat model as in the video clip to build a boat to use. Thank you.
