Thx for that and greetings from Ireland 🇮🇪 . I am nearly 60 and just returned to the church recently. I went to my first Latin mass this weekend gone and almost cried when the priest and 5 alter boys walked up to the alter accompanied by the beautiful singing and organ from the altar. Magical and a completely different experience. Now, I really want to learn some prayers to understand and get more involved
I’m only 5 months into my conversion barely over a month praying the rosary daily and ever since in the last week I’ve been doing it in Latin it just feels different a good different I feel like there’s more power and meaning behind it. Praise be to God I went from what I was to know this far that some people in my family are shocked. My answer God did this who else 🤷🏻♂️🙏🏻😭
There’s studies that show praying the rosary in Latin is good for anxiety and stress. Respiration slows to 6 breaths per minute, half the regular breathing pattern.
This makes a lot of sense! I am fluent in English and Spanish so I pray the rosary in both languages and it’s good, but when I pray the rosary in Latin, I feel that I can focus better. I also feel something different that I don’t feel with the other languages, it’s hard to explain but it’s like an internal silence.
I have signed up and pray the Rosary in Latin, I finally am able to pray it and it is SO powerful. It is so deep and so amazing. Thank you for encouraging people to pray the Rosary in Latin. It truly brings me to more humility when I pray.

@a.r.4093 I fully understand what I am.saying. I do meditate on the Mysteries. They are not empty babbling words. I find it interesting that you feel compelled to question my method of devotion, which transcends me to be even more focused on my prayers. I don't need to defend myself from your judgment. I just feel you need to take caution when questioning someone whose method of praying goes along WITH not against the Church.

I was asking because I wanted to start praying the Rosary in latin, but have a hard time understanding what the words mean. @@a.r.4093 I am SO Sorry that I came back at you and misunderstood you!! How it sank in with me, I speak Spanish, so some words are Latin origin. One way is take 1st sentence. Ex: Pater Noster qui es in caelis. Put it under the English translation. You will begin to associate each word. Some may not completely match, but it will be so wonderful!! Or just learn the words then, as you pray, follow with your hand the prayer. For me, somehow it really grabbed me since when you pray in latin it is very hard to pray fast and it slows your tempo. Please let me know if I can help!! I will pray for you to be moved by the Holy Spirit and feel the depth of praying in Latin.

One of the features that I love about Catholicism is that it has 100 different ways, be it large or small, to protect you from demons. No other religion does this because no other religion is the truth. Much more than we realize can be attributed to demonic or angelic activity.
It gives your mind more focus and since it's Latin it's a different language so it gives us more concentration and it gets a closer understanding I don't know I can't explain it I like it but I love it too
1 of the best Dr. Marshall videos fully in line with Traditional Catholicism. Since becoming a TLM Catholic 5 yrs ago, I have learned the Latin Holy Rosary as well as both the Apostle "Credo in Deum" (Rosary) and the full "Credo in unum Deum" (TLM) in Latin. I pray the Holy Rosary 15 x 10 every day, alternate 1 day in Latin, another day in Czech (my native language, born & grew up Czech), fluent in both Rosaries. Of course learned parts of the TLM in Latin as well. Ave Maria, sancta Maria, ora pro nobis peccatoribus nunc et in hora mortis nostrae. 🙏⛪
Praying the Rosary in any language is powerful. Latin, is well known yes, however, if that were the case then we would have only Latin reading. Yes, I love Latin service, rosary, and reading but I will say the rosary is the preference that suits me. Blessed Mary Mother, hears all and helps all. The power is Faith.
Since subscribing to this channel, I've been intrigued to follow Latin Mass and recite the Rosary in Latin. I know most of the prayers by heart. The Creed and The Salve Regina are a bit challenging. I hope to master them soon by keeping at it.
Why pray the rosary in latin? So that we can pray together! Of course, regardless of where we come from (and of different mother tongue) and of when we lived (praying together with the saints, our friends in heaven) - unity over time & space…. Furthermore, with latin we don’t have to argue about which translation to use. This is my quick answer , and Now I will watch the video 😁

I’m discovering some theology by using the Latin words of the Rosary. For instance, Ventris tui means your stomach. We’ve translated it to your womb which is a valid translation, however, for me it loses the “passing through” aspect of the place. Things pass through the womb. They “vent” through. Our use of the vent root word indicates a passing though, just as Jesus passed through Mary. The term womb is a beautiful term, but it seems to indicate a place of rest and comfort. That is of course true, but the most important aspect I believe is the passing through of Grace into the world via the conduit that Mary provides physically and in obedient supplication. I keep thinking I’m nit picking, but there’s something here.

I had to laugh when you described a particular kind of accident ...I'm still laughing! And you held your composure so well, which makes it even more funny! But I love saying my Rosary in Latin, so thank you!!
I firmly believe the reason for the strong hostility to Latin prayers in the main, and the Latin Rosary specifically, is just your point that it is sealed, protecting the meaning from drift and redefinition. Those who would tear the church apart have vigorously leveraged just such redefinitions and lexical drifts in an effort to legitimize efforts of theirs that are clearly illegitimate. The use of Latin denies them this powerful tool, and man do the demons howl because of it.
Thank you Dr. Marshall for this very enlightening talk. I have been praying my rosary in Latin after watching your videos. So with other prayers like the Divine Mercy Chaplet, Holy Face Chaplet, etc.. God bless you and your family.
If the Church is the Bride of Christ, Latin is her bridal veil. It frames her beautiful face, concealing yet emphasizing her beauty. It symbolizes her purity. It sets her aside for her heavenly groom, Christ Jesus.
The only benefits I see to praying the Rosary in Latin are these: the beauty, which is greater than in the English version (in my opinion), the universality: everyone can say the same words, no matter their native language, which makes sense for common, online use, and the "feeling": the sense of solidarity and union with the ancient Church that Latin carries with it. Of these, the last is, to me, the most significant, but even it is not in any way essential to the act of prayer. As someone who already knows most common prayers in Latin, including the Rosary, I look forward to hearing Taylor's rationale, because I simply can't think of seven significant reasons beyond the three I've given. English or any other language works just as well.
There is the efficacious quality of Latin. It is literally hallowed on account of having been the language of the liturgy for so long, and then also that of countless saints. It is also effective at combating the influence of the devil. Many priests especially exorcists, confirm the effectiveness of Latin prayers against demons.
I agree with Just A Thomist. It is ONE of the sacred languages and a very pure one at that that the demons can't stand. It's power puts them to flight, and it works much quicker than saying the exact same thing in another language like English. Praying prayers over the possesed etc can take hours in english and has in certain cases. For example there was this one time where people were praying over this one person in need inside the church and they were going for hours repeating prayers. When they switched to Latin the demons left within a minute. It's the language for exorcisms, couldn't be ANY other way.
Old Latin is one of the three languages that hung on the cross above Jesus, along with Ancient Hebrew and Ancient Greek...and these languages remain uncorrupted in their ancient versions! Very effective in making demons tremble and leave!!!
I learned the Rosary as a child in English, but upon learning to recite it in Latin, I find myself more often in Latin mode. Theres a rhythm, flow and delivery which is not matched in English. And this comes from someone who admires a solid, good and proper use of the English language. Latin is not subject to the distortions, contortions and bedevilement that English has undergone. The reasons that Taylor Marshall presented for why Latin should be used by Catholics ring clearly. Many choose to object, differ or ignore its resonance. The importance of Latin continues to stand resolutely and powerfully, like the Colisseum, or the Pantheon in Rome. Modern indifference, ignorance and apathy will never reduce nor resign its beauty nor glory.
Ok, after hearing all ten reasons, my opinion hasn't really changed, although I am not in any way objecting to anyone learning their prayers in Latin. I guess what I'm trying to get across, as someone who has prayed in Latin for many years, is that whereas when I began I felt that there would be some profound benefit to my prayer life as a result, I'm not so sure now that that is true. OTOH, I'm not sure that it is not true, either. Maybe if I'd prayed only in English I'd have become a Protestant by now lol. How can I know? But to turn Dr. Marshall's list up to 11, since I don't think he mentioned this specifically: one thing it will definitely help with is understanding spoken (or written) ecclesiastical Latin. That's a pretty important thing for anyone lucky enough to attend the TLM. For us NO deplorables, it's obviously not as essential.
I am a new subscriber and I am loving your videos so far, and learning so much! Thank you for covering such important topics in such a precise way. You are well spoken, makes everything easier to understand. God bless you, and please continue in your ministry! ❤️

And I love all the reasons given by Dr. Taylor Marshall ❤️🔥❤️🔥❤️🔥
I pray the rosary in Latin it gives me great joy
Thx for that and greetings from Ireland 🇮🇪 . I am nearly 60 and just returned to the church recently. I went to my first Latin mass this weekend gone and almost cried when the priest and 5 alter boys walked up to the alter accompanied by the beautiful singing and organ from the altar. Magical and a completely different experience. Now, I really want to learn some prayers to understand and get more involved
I’m in the same boat as you, Irish and returning to the church finding the Latin mass and music much more profound and meaningful.
You’re correct Dr. Taylor; Latin does preserve the faith. This is very timely!
I've started doing this, but I also like to read scripture that corresponds to the mysteries before each Pater Noster.
Do you understand what you're saying in Latin, or are you just kind of "blindly" praying the words, while simultaneously meditating on the Mystery at hand?
@a.r.4093 I fully understand what I am.saying. I do meditate on the Mysteries. They are not empty babbling words. I find it interesting that you feel compelled to question my method of devotion, which transcends me to be even more focused on my prayers. I don't need to defend myself from your judgment. I just feel you need to take caution when questioning someone whose method of praying goes along WITH not against the Church.
@@angiemoorectmh2311 I wasn't trying to question you at all! I'm so sorry if it came across that way!! I was asking because I wanted to start praying the Rosary in latin, but have a hard time understanding what the words mean. That was why I asked someone else who prays in Latin if they understand what the words mean while praying, or if you focus more on the meditations than the actual words of the prayers.
Latin is a beautiful language to pray the Rosary in, it is a real privilege to speak one of the original languages of Ham and Canaan when talking to God. I am considering learning it in Patwa for Bernadette Soubris canonized saint of Lourdes which would be Friday prayers for me..
Always pray my Rosary in Latin also my other devotions daily. Love it.
I've been praying the rosary in Latin for months now. I love it, so peaceful.

Absolutely
Do you think it’s powerful ? cause I wanna try !
Thank you so very much for your love of the Roman Catholic Faith and for making it a mission to help so many of us learn.
I love the word

My wife had expressed concern with the Novus order. We had just finished with the Christmas season in our parish. She said it was unfulfilling. A priest friend was starting the TLM. That was in 2005. Since then we been very happy. Learning new prayers & devotions. She learned the Rosary in laten. She still learning the Glory be & the Hail Holy Queen. Every thing else she has learned just by listening to another podcast on line. Then she found Dr. Taylor on UTUBE, & the rest is history. We just love the Rosary! ✝️🙏🇺🇸💕

One of the features that I love about Catholicism is that it has 100 different ways, be it large or small, to protect you from demons. No other religion does this because no other religion is the truth. Much more than we realize can be attributed to demonic or angelic activity.
Wow im learning im learning😃 THANK U DR MARSHALL. I love latin i try to learn as much as i can.
AVE MARIS STELLA🙏🙏🙏❤❤
It gives your mind more focus and since it's Latin it's a different language so it gives us more concentration and it gets a closer understanding I don't know I can't explain it I like it but I love it too
Praying in Latin gives me a feeling I have no words to describe!
I pray everyday latin rosary praise Jesus.

I’m sure we all will with practice and dedication. God bless you!
It helped me to learn to sing them first.
Thank you Dr Taylor for your detailed analysis of looking at the differences in the Protestant and Catholic bibles, and when saying the
Rosary, we are honouring both Christ and our mother Mary.

@@elizabethvilane2439 Are you saying something like TM does not teach about Jesus correctly? Or are you happy with his teachings? I think TM generally speaks with a good heart...my husband is a convert who got baptized before she remarried in the church...the marriage has lasted through unbelievable obstacles and satan hates it! He constantly tries to break up marriages...especially Sacramental Marriage...God's Love, Mary
I’ll stick to number 10!!! Thank you Dr!
Thank you, Dr Marshall. You inspired me to pray in latin. I started praying the holy rosary and divine mercy in latin already. Deo Gratias!
Thank you spreading our blessed Lady's Psalter.
Dr Taylor its so easy for you to learn and so so hard for me ... amen 🙏
By the way i love your horse they are one of my favourite animal ❤ xx
I agree with all you said… I would go one step further by telling you that I also prefer to pray the “Our Father” in Aramaic.
It came to me 4 years ago… in my heart I was praying and thinking… who am I to change the “very” words that our Lord Jesus used. When He was asked about how to pray, He thought and chose specific words! How important is for us to repeat EXACTLY those words?!
I have learned how to pray it and it has given me a deeper sense of personal relationships with God❤️🔥
Iesus Caritas urge nos🙏
Number 10 alone would be enough for me...I'm pushing 60 and have just learned the Our Father and the Agnus Dei. I'm about to start the Gloria and the Ave Maria. From there? I'll just keep going...I'm having the time of my life learning it. Thanks Dr. Marshall for your videos that break it down and make it much easier to learn.
God Bless Dr. Taylor! Avé Maria!
When I was a campus minister at a Catholic high school, we would have a multi-language Rosary once a year. The Latin prayers was the most reverent decade.
Thank you Dr Marshall, you teach me alot. God bless you and family. Ave Maria! Love from North Borneo.
I love this video. I really want to learn how to speak and understand Latin, especially the rosary and other prayers.
Thank you Taylor. Reason #10 nails it for me. I have been praying the 54 day Rosary Novena in Latin that will be fulfilled on the Feast of the Assumption Aug. 15th. When I started I had to read the Latin, but I've got most of it down now. I'll still use your videos to help me improve. God Bless you!!!

Done. Doing the Latin prayers including the Rosary for a few weeks now. 😉It’s not strange. I was an altar boy when the mass was in Latin in the early 60’s
Thank you Dr. Marshall - Also great arguments for the Traditional Latin Mass - With TLM we could worship all together without language barriers
I pray in my own words. God hears all of us no matter what language. What is this thing with Latin. I want to understand what I am praying.
I💜🙏Latin
I started listening to the rosary in Latin and I’ve slowly learnt the Our Father, Hail Mary and Glory Be……need to learn the rest……🙏🏻
Thank you Dr. Marshall, beautiful explanation .
I’m going to suggest a Latin rosary class at our parish next year.
I pray the Latin Rosary with the Franciscanfriars channel/site. The one that I used to pray with is not there anymore. Thank you for the video, Dr. Marshall. Godbless.
Learn how to pray in Latin is a wonderful reason to excise my mind, especially when I retire (soon). One stone kill two birds 😊
Thank you Dr Marshall 😍

Thank you Dr. Marshall 😍
When you mentioned this last week about saying the Rosary in Latin, my first response was, “No way! No way I am going to say the Rosary in Latin. I’m saying it in English.” I learned Latin when I was very young and even before Vatican 2 said my prayers in Latin. Well, I’ve been humbled. Now, I’m doing it with you. I should have it down pat by week’s end. So funny. And ALL your reasons are correct. Thank you, Dr Marshall. I’m recovering from Covid, so this is a great time to get this right. I’ve also been doing a lot of thinking on the Latin Mass. I’m leaving my parish and I will be attending the Traditional Latin Mass. I will be getting up early on Sundays and even try a few weekday Masses. I’m so done with the Novus Ordo and all it’s busyness.
I’m also going to join Patreon👍. God Bless and may our Savior, Jesus Christ, give you all the wisdom, discernment and strength you need to bring Christ’s Light back into our Church. We need people like you, Fr Altman, Cancelled Priests.org. Life site news…..🙏🙏
Thanks for sharing your love for the Holy Rosary and for motivating us to pray and meditate on the life of Jesus in the same language as our Pope St. Peter would have done it.

Much appreciated Dr. Taylor. God blesses you and family.
I sing in latin for my rosary. I feel closer to heaven even though I on earth.
I will certainly learn it in Latin. After the Fatima Prayer, I add the fruit of the mystery according to the meditation. So, I may need to learn more words. Thank you!

Thank you for listing and describing your top ten reasons for praying the rosary in Latin. I especially love number ten (lol)!!
Literally just prayed the Rosary in Latin for the first time BEFORE watching this.
Any good links to recordings greatly appreciated!
This may be the beginning of a whole new world for Carholics - espc interesting that the Latin has such power in the exorcism prayer. We also need to get back to singing in Latin at Mass - we need a programme for lay people to follow. Simple Gregorian chant perhaps. It has such beauty
I have been praying the rosay daily for years. I am looking foward to learning how to pray it in latin. The 10th reason is so powerfully buetiful. I plan on praying it both ways once i learn.
Thank Dr.Marshall, I've switched to Latin long ago for the Rosary, its a beautiful language for prayer.
I need your words. You’ve helped my hold on to the threads,
NO THANKS! im pretty sure our Lady is pleased with my daily rosary just the way I say it in my own language. Been doing it daily for 15 years now and had many prayers answered, thank you.
Thank you Dr.Taylor Marshall If not for you ,i wouldn't know or I have no ideas about these The devil manipulated our prayers not to be effective to cast them off instead they uses those clergy who are in high hierarchy to prevent the faithful in arming themselves in defending the faith our Roman Catholic faith. They won't succed because there are vigilant wonderful people who keep our faith seriously Thank you and God Bless you❤❤😮
Hearing about your experience, T Marsh, on pilgrimage to a church where you find the Our Father in Latin and everyone in your group prayed the prayer together, madness my heart smile🥰 All I could think of when you said this was when the people were blessed by the Holy Spirit and they were all speaking in different languages but everyone understood each other! Beautiful!!

Thank you for the info sir Godbless
Thank you Dr. Marshall for this very enlightening talk. I have been praying my rosary in Latin after watching your videos. So with other prayers like the Divine Mercy Chaplet, Holy Face Chaplet, etc.. God bless you and your family.
If the Church is the Bride of Christ, Latin is her bridal veil. It frames her beautiful face, concealing yet emphasizing her beauty. It symbolizes her purity. It sets her aside for her heavenly groom, Christ Jesus.
Well you just answered one of my. THX
Reason #12 Popes have consistently recommended praying the Rosary in Latin. Pope St. Paul VI published a book of Latin prayers and hymns that every Catholic should know. Pope St. John Paul II published a beautiful recording of himself praying the Rosary in Latin with pilgrims.
