Thanks for sharing never understood how the calibration tool worked very powerful thanks agin
Nigel, you are such a generous photography educator. This video provides an incredible amount of detail, so well explained. I will be learning from this video for months. It supplements your masterclass tutorials really well. UA-cam videos about photography "don't get better than this!!!!"
It's fantastic to see You again, Nigel! :) Such a great content, thank you very much!
This is the most important video I've ever watched...about 10 times now....Thank you.
Really good to see your recovery is well underway and that Sunday mornings are ND and coffee again. Thanks for those tips in the video - really gives ideas on personal editing style.
Thanks, Nigel! Very clear and helpful.
Carlsberg don’t do photo editing tutorials, but if they did……………… this would be it!!!
The most interesting and informative editing video I’ve ever watched. Thanks Nigel, great video this week, as always. Some priceless info 🤩
Thanks Andrew
So we’ll done and explained…thank you for such a thorough explanation…
Aahh missed those Sunday vids :) glad to have you back Nigel hope that you are getting well :)
Fantastic idea for a video. Really excellent
Thanks so much. This is finally breaking down the wall in my brain that has a hard time understanding color. And I appreciate the free webinar too. You do so much for the photography community worldwide. Thanks from Michigan, US.
This is so helpful. Thank you. I have saved this video to study. There are so many nuggets here and I will study the information you have given us. Thanks!
This was incredible and explained so well. You are so appreciated for your talent, hard work, and unselfish sharing of your amazing secrets.
Great to see you back Nigel and great video as always. Look forward to many more.
Nigel, this was very helpful in trying to understand Lightroom. I'm new to Lightroom in 2022 and I'm watching as many video's as I can to help understand how to make great pictures. I have found your video's the most useful. Thank You!
Nigel, what a great tutorial so much information , thank you (:
Awesome instruction Nigel. I have been thinking about this for a while and your video will set me on my way. Thanks.
Very well explained. Thank you!
Awesome demonstration, thank you for sharing your insights, it will help me on my own color explorations! 👍
Another excellent video Nigel, not that there was any doubt or surprise. Your teaching style makes potentially intimidating topics, such as color, so easy to follow and comprehend. Thank you for the inspiration to try some new techniques on my images and further refine my style. Continued prayers for the swift arrival of full recovery from your surgeries.
Fantastic to see you, Nigel, and that you are getting better!
Thanks Nigel! Never knew about that Adobe Color site!
Really appreciate your detailed explanations on this topic, it's an area I struggle with. I can't wait to dig in and see what I can do with the new knowledge. Cheers Nigel!
Nigel, thanks for this eye-opener. I always struggle with the greens and greenish colors. The theory of occurence dependency in sunlights and shadows was clear to me but the use of right (!) processing steps in the tool was very helpfull to manage in future. Also thanks for the hint and link to the color page at Adobe.
Excellent tips!! Thank you
Fantastic Nigel. That's packed with a lot of information that's going to be a real help with editing. I struggle a lot with getting colours to look right particularly the greens. More so when printing. Brilliant explanation of how colours work with each other. It's driven home everything I watched in the past and not really understood. The Adobe tool is going to be very useful. Thank you very much for sharing.
First, it’s so good to see you outside Nigel! Outstanding tutorial on color, I often use calibration but more often at the end to add pop to my images, I’ll try using it at the earlier in the edit process now. Thanks Nigel!
Absolutely fascinating. Thank you so much Nigel - and great to see you upright again!
This is probably one of your best videos for improving your photos consistently! People are missing out as it's not one of your top viewed ones!
Alot of people seem to have problems with composition I see online and don't talk as much about balance with in colour's in landscape photography. This has been the longest thing for me to get right and still don't! Hopefully now with this new information I will get over that hurdle! Thanks so much 🙏
Informative as always Nigel. Trust your not overdoing things?
The Color.Adobe is an interesting site, thanks for sharing it.
Stay safe 🇦🇺
Superb, Nigel. Clearly presented and hugely helpful. The Adobe took was an eye-opener! Thank you so much for everything that you do for the photography community.
Thank you for another fantastic video, Nigel! You have such a great teaching style to complement your lovely portfolio-I always learn from you, and find inspiration in your work! Sending you well wishes as you continue your recovery…
From what I understand (and have experienced) whether in Lightroom or any other image editor, using white balance for artistic purposes is risky. Not that you recommended it, but your IG question revealed apparently many folks do use it that way. IMO white balance should be adjusted to provide a color-temperature-appropriate base from which to start. In other words, a level playing field. Once done, other tools can be used for artistic purposes. In my experience, there are too many unintended side effects when using white balance as a creative tool. It's global and will affect colors often far away from what's intended.
Great video!
Great info! Just started messing with color grading and this helps massively. Thank you.
Excellent work learning and enjoyable top work.
Really interesting, thanks. Also, good to see you up and about.
Nigel its so good to see you back on UA-cam. Thanks for the explanation of the different ways to tone an image. Your tips on these tools over the years have really helped me understand the power they provide in Lightroom. Best of success in your recovery. Hope you can get back out in the field soon.
Very informative. Well done, and thank you so much, Nigel! I look forward to each of your Sunday videos.
Amazing video. So helpful. thank you!
Found this really useful. Thanks.
Thanks! Great LR tutorial !
A really useful video Nigel. Thanks so much Nigel. Especially the colour calibration sliders which I do often find useful when deployed with care.
Hi Nigel, thanks for this video, it will really add something to my photographs going forward. This and the 'intersect with' video are excellent and very well explained. Look forward to seeing you out and about soon.
TX Nigel. Once again, great job presenting concepts with insight and clarity. You are tops!
Another great video. Love the the calibration tool info. Fel better soon.
Hi Nigel, I discovered your channel few weeks ago. I already watched a good bunch of them and I must say that I learned a lot! Thanks for all those technical explanations and examples, I feel l that I can really put them in practice. Best wishes from France !
Hi Nigel, it is good to see you return to the fold. I hope you make a full & speedy recovery.
I have had a quick spin with the adobe colour wheel site. It has already shown why my better images in my desktop slide show work as far as colour. What a great tool & I shall be making much more use of this. Thank you.
Fantastic, Nigel! Thank you.
I have been struggling with color grading for more than 6 months, trying to learn about the combinations, correct saturation etc. This video, guide i would say, helped more than anything out there. Thanks for your help
So wonderful to see a vid again, thank you for the instructions and insights today!
Best video I've watched on colour! and I've watched hundreds! I hope you make more content like this in the future. But also looking forward to you being up and about. Hope your back feels better soon!
Loved your video. Very difficult subject, but clearly explained. Something to play around the next few days when it will be too hot to go out. Great to have you back on you tube. Have a nice Sunday !!!
Amazing explanation Nigel! Thanks so much.
Great information. Thank you.
Insightful for sure...color grading hurts my brain sometimes, lol. Thanks Nigel, good to see you up and about! :)
Superb video, thanks. I am just starting out with a Nikon D5600 and Lightroom so your videos are really helping me. Keep up the great work!
Great video Nigel! I already ordered my calendar when you posted it on Facebook. I'm going to sign up for the composition webinar for sure.
One of the best videos I ever seen about this topic! Tks, Nigel! 🙏🏻
I suggest another video to explain the concepts that make a picture, the science of colors and light, like what is hue, saturation, brightness, contrast, for example.
Wonderful Nigel, thank you. It’s given me a fresh perspective on editing my images.
A true masterclass. Very useful. Thanks as always. Hope you are feeling better.
Very informative. Thank you! A follow-up with more examples of why you are doing the colour changes would help me. I understand the "how" better now but struggle with the "why and the when". I recognize your view of a photo is different from mine but I need a starting point. Stay healthy!!!!!!
Mind blown 🤯
Thanks for the simplistic explanation. Hope the recovery is going well. Take it easy!
Glad to see you up and about a bit more. Really helpful video and I say that as someone who uses Capture One. Lots of videos available about how to use tools but it is how you create style and what colour does to that is so clearly described here. Thanks I learnt a lot.
Hi Nigel! Once again a great video. Even more so this time round. I had some images where the colours where a bit challenging to edit. This advice will definitely be of great help. Thank you 🙏🏻
Thank you 🙏🏻
So glad to see you again! And super excited to buy your 2023 calendar. Take care and God bless you!
What a fantastic video and explanation Thankyou Nigel!
What a brilliant tutorial! Thank you so much. This is so very informative.
What an excellent video. Thank you Nigel.
Fantastic & informative video as always Nigel, the adobe tip is awesome - thanks so much! So glad to see you out and about, all be it in your garden, but wishing you a continued recovery.
Thanks, Nigel. Good tutorial!
Nigel, Thank you for this video. I now have a much better understanding of the different color corrections available in Lightroom, why and how to use them. A very informative video.
Very instructive video Nigel. I have recently started using the colour calibration more to help develop the tones in my images and really pleased with the results. Keep getting well fella
This will be another one of your videos I reference while editing. Color is the element I still struggle with the most. Thanks Nigel.
I do hope you post one of your webinars online for your USA followers ;-) 6am and 10:30am are tough on week days.
This is excellent, clear and to the point. Thank you so much.
This is a great tutorial. Your channel is the best Nigel. Thanks as usual.
Thank you for this.
really liked this. Thank you - I really found this helpful as to what the role of the different sliders are and how they impact on the image.
Very nice video, Nigel. Thanks.
Great to see you again and to enjoy a very informative discussion.
A big thanks for this. I have been getting stuck, in particular with the greens. This has been a great help.
One of the most interesting, helpful video in photography I ever seen. THANK YOU Nigel!
This video is great! I rarely listened to a photography video as carefully as this time.
Thanks a lot! Helps to create my own style in post-processing...
Great Video and one of the best explanations on how the colour calibration works, I've heard so far.
Great video. Lots of useful information. Definitely one to come back to. Cheers.
Thanks. Very informative! Couldn’t always see you adjustment (slider), but I’ll got back again to look more closely!
My sundays are fulfilled again thanks to your videos! Such a great video about colours and style. And thanks for the Adobe website tip. I didn't know it was existing and I think it's gonna be very useful to me :)
This is a great tutorial, I wasn't aware of the colour wheel feature in Adobe! I use the WB as a replacement for old skool warm up filters, though it's not great. I use the calibration sliders a lot, they are much more subtle than the HSL. I agree that green foliage on a sunny day using the Adobe Landscape profile are generally a horrible colour! I've also learnt how to use colourmask, that's a game changer for me!
Phew! what a lot of good information and thank you very much. Also glad to see your continuing to recover.
This was a eye opener. Learnt a lot about colour and not just in lightroom. Thanks a lot
Many thanks for this video Nigel as for me you have clarified the mystery of HSL, Color Grading and Calibration, where, when and how to use them. I have struggled in the past as to how and when to use the different colour tools in Lightroom and how they work for different images. Hopefully I will not be able to edit colours in my images in a more realistic way.
Thanks Nigel, that the best explanation of color theory that I have seen to date, well done!
Phenomenal photographer, always so insightful, educational and interesting.
Love your work NIGEL. Calendar is awesome.
Richie
Wow, what a really interesting and informative video on colour science. I will certainly need to watch this a few times to get my hear around it totally, but thanks so much.
Brilliant, very well explained. Really appreciate the practical application of Color.Adobe.
Hi Nigel, It's so good to see you online again. Another excellent video, thanks kindly. Robert DP
Thank you for doing a video on color editing. I don't use the color grading tool at all, but will try it going forward. I do use the calibration tool at the end the editing process, but I see the advantage of using it at the beginning. I've bookmarked this for future reference, as I'm sure I'll need to refer to it. I love the adobe cc tool. I had no idea it existed.
Thanks, Nigel, and best wishes for a speedy recovery.
Nice video, thank you.
Thank you!
