@@NYCE_Fishing I went out last night again. We Caught a few FATTT 2-3lb pork chops and then instantly the bite just shut down. I haven’t seen porgies this big in the bay. We’re pulling 16-18 inch fish… I have a feeling sharks may have been around. BTW there was a pretty big hammerhead spotted off the pier this week. I just want one sheepshead lol. Oh and I too can live without the rays. Anyway, god bless, Stay safe and lots of luck brother ! I’ll make sure I say hello if I spot you out there 🙏
Thank you!. Actually I’m using the hindsight function of the GoPro. It’s great for catching those out of nowhere moments and it saves memory on the micro SD card. I just don’t like that I have to press the the recording button so my hand gets in the way of the picture, I also don’t like the beep when pressing the button. I can silence all beeps from the camera settings but then I get paranoid the my camera is not recoding so I leave the beep on. Any suggestions?
Thank you Dan! I’m sure they are there to stay for the rest of the season so I’m gonna take a break from those porgies and focus on other species. I really want to get into some keeper sea bass but I wouldn’t even know where to start lol.
Thank you. I started with a 300 dollars kayak my first season and I was hooked. Best of luck on your upcoming saltwater adventures. Thank you for watching!
I usually kayak fish for porgy in the sound, only time I tried there was a bust. you hit the bite! Nice catch, but sitting in the 90 deg sun does them no favors. For top quality meat you should be bleeding them on a clip or stringer and icing them. Makes cleaning a lot less messy too.
Yeah it’s true, I have to get in the habit of taking care of the fish meat better. I do have a small soft cooler in the hatch on the front of the kayak so they eventually make it to the ice. Thank you for watching!
I always use Asian shore crabs when I go porgy fishing, it works for me and it keeps all the small pesky interference fish away. Thank you for watching!.
Here I’m running a Fenwick HMG inshore 7’ medium heavy/fast action rod paired with a Penn Clash II 4000 with 15lb braided line/ 20lb flouro leader and a 3/4 to 1oz swing jig. Thank you for watching!.
I’m not familiar with the prices but I see a bunch of guys out there on skiffs from marina 59. If you going for porgies I would work the change of tides and slack tide since the current won’t be as strong.
Your videos are great, very wonderful. I really enjoy watching your videos. I wish you good health and success.
Thank you for the kind words.
Thank you for your response
Keep videos coming
Will do brother!
Have you run into the cow nose rays? We been getting into a massive schools the last few days. Keep up the great work brotha
I have to say that I’m fortunate and I haven’t ran into the cownose rays. I hope I don’t because I have bad shoulders lol. Thank you brother!

Numbers in the 20s. Wow. Nice job. They will only get bigger as time goes. I've pull some 18" in there last Aug/Sept.
Porgy time came earlier this year at least as far as I know lol. Thank you for watching!.
Great video! Are you book marking the video when you click the camera and i beeps?

Awesome job Greg... some absolutely diesel porgies!

Were you on a kayak?
no i was on a boat
Keep up the good job
Where you buy your bait from? Great catch with those porgy.
Thank you! I don’t usually buy bait. I catch or gather my own.
Nice Jumbo Porgies brother way to go!
Thanks bro! I saw your channel getting close to 1k subs, keep up the great work bro!.
@@NYCE_Fishing Thanks my Brother!
I like your videos , I wish I can get a kayak and get good fish
Just discovered the area and the salt water fishing last fall
Thank you. I started with a 300 dollars kayak my first season and I was hooked. Best of luck on your upcoming saltwater adventures. Thank you for watching!
Hey man, i love your videos. Is the water ever clear over there?
Yeah there is spots that do.

Nice video.
Beautiful fishing Is there a public boat launch in that area?
My bad, I don’t know about boat launch sites around there. Thank you for watching!.
What bridge is that ur fishing by
What rod and reel is that bro
Fenwick HMG inshore 7’ medium/heavy fast action / Penn clash II 4000
Let’s go Go Get’em big hubcaps coming up
Those porgies settled in very early this year. Thank you for watching bro!
You think that area is fishable from a decent inflatable kayak? I know the current can really rip, I’m not sure if I should give it a shot
I wouldn’t hug the walls, pilings and such. Some of that structure do have nasty bolts and steel sticking out.
💯
Fresh clams just as good for porgies
I don’t doubt it brother. Thank you for watching!.
Where do you get the crab.
At low tide, walk along the shore and turn over rocks. Plenty of asians and some green crabs
Yes, rocky shore/low tide
What are you using for bait??
I always use Asian shore crabs when I go porgy fishing, it works for me and it keeps all the small pesky interference fish away. Thank you for watching!.
Where you get this crab from
I get the crabs from any rocky shore during low tide. Just turn some rocks over and they’re usually there.
@@NYCE_Fishing thank you so much
which rod and reels and rig you using here

Does anybody rent skiff from Marina 59? What are your thoughts. I'm thinking about giving it a try

What bridge is that ?
I was wondering the same thing and how can we get some of the rigs.
People don't give up their spots
@@bobthompson9890 I don’t even live in his state
I used to and was wondering
@@bobthompson9890if your from the area/state
You’ll be able to find it .. theres so many bridges lol
@@ValueVictory I fish on long island, I know where he's at. But if someone gives out exact locations, there might be dozens of boats there.
Please
Invite me to fishing ...
I got kayak . But I'm afraid to fish by my self ..
Ty,
Massive porgies but unfortunately Jamaica bay porgies don’t taste as good as Long Island sound porgies
Is that true? I have to test that now. Thank you for watching!.
