    Italo Svevo and Luigi Pirandello are two Italian authors that I intend to read more during this year.

      Both are excellent! By Pirandello I want to read the novel The Late Mattia Pascal. Happy reading, my friend, and thank you so much for stopping by! 😃

    Oh, the review came at the perfect time! I'm currently reading Zeno's Conscience, and I want to continue exploring Italian literature. I hope there will be more reviews about Italian literature.

      Wonderful! It's a pleasure to share this Svevo connection, my friend. 😃 There will definitely be much more to come on Italian literature. One of my goals is to explore it more in-depth, because I realized I have read a lot more in English, Spanish, French, and German than Italian. Thank you so much for watching and commenting, and have an amazing day!

    Italo Svevo is one of the most underrated author of the 20th century. He’s up there with the great that the modernists have to offer

    A cross between Thomas Mann and Jane Austen then? Sounds weird :)
    I’ve read so few Italian writers. Last one was Natalia Ginzburg, with “The Dry Heart”. Loved it.

      It's definitely strange to think of all the authors that somehow or other fit into Zeno's Conscience. 😃 Wow, The Dry Heart sounds like my cup of tea, and they have it at my library! Thank you so much for recommending it. Have a wonderful day, my friend!

    Was thundercats popular in Argentina? (Nice to meet a fellow fan of the series)

      Always a pleasure to meet a fellow Thundercats enthusiast! 😃 The show was huge in Argentina back when it came out. For my sixth birthday, my parents hired a guy who dressed like Lion-O, and the invitations and if I remember correctly even the cake had a Thundercats theme. Those were the days. Thank you so much for watching, my friend, and have an excellent day!

    I listened to a good part of an audiobook version of this book (50%, maybe more) but left it unfinished. I cannot say I disliked it. Rather, my interest in the story faded away. I'm not a consumer of audiobooks either, so that could have had some influence. I totally hear you about audiobooks. The only times I have managed to finish one is by reading the text simultaneously, which many might find absurd. I did that with On the Road and Great Expectations. At the same time, there's something about Zeno's Conscience... It took me 3 weeks to read it, I must say. I'm a slow reader, but usually a book this long would take me 8-10 days, 2 weeks at the most. Thank you so much for sharing the link, Leandro! Have an amazing day, my friend! 😃

    At least I have that book since the late 80s/early 90s. 🙂 I can't remember why I bought it but it could be the fault of Bioy Casares.

      @JorgesCorner  Місяць тому +1

      It's probably Bioy's fault, yes. 😃 I wonder what Borges would have thought about it. He never mentioned Svevo, that I know of. Have a fantastic day, my friend!
