Thank you so much, my friend! 😃 Haha, yes, there's definitely a lot of acting involved in teaching. I always tell my students that. Have an amazing weekend, and happy reading!
Congratulations! I’m just so happy to have found your channel, in the past two weeks there was not a single day that I haven’t come across something of interest here, and I cannot but marvel at your erudition and personality. It's great you discuss playwrights too, Calderon, and now Pirandello - he's somewhat forgotten (at least in my country) and it's a great reminder. And as for the prose I love that you so often speak of the narrative, I’m always interested most in how a story is told, so I’m very curious about your thoughts also on Saramago, or Michel Faber - I’m a big fan of the latter. And Saramago, though not my thing really, is a NP winner ;)
Thank you so much, my friend! 😃 It makes me so happy to hear you're enjoying the videos. More to come on playwrights. There was a time when I read one play after another, and I even wanted to write plays myself. I've always had this fascination with dialogue. Narrative is also fascinating. There are many great writers out there; great storytellers are more difficult to find. You are not going to believe this: I am in fact reading Saramago right now! Which means, of course, that there will be a video coming up soon. I'll look up Michel Faber; thanks for the recommendation. Have an excellent day, and happy reading!
@@JorgesCorner Thank you for your answer :) More playwrights, great, I love theater and even played a small part in an amateur theater years ago, never tried playwriting though. And what a coincidence with Saramago, I just finished Blindness and started Gospel..., can't wait for your views, and if you haven't read Faber yet I can only envy you and suggest, if I may, you start With The Scarlet Petal..., this novel just grabbed me by the shirt and pulled under so deeply, I was dreaming of it in my sleep. Thanks again and have a beautiful day :)
How wonderful that you got the chance to play a part! 😃 I did too, for a performance at my college, and it was a lot of fun. Maybe I'll share my experience in a video someday. The Saramago novels you mention are great, especially Blindness. I found a copy of another novel by Faber, but I will definitely check out The Scarlet Petal, which sounds compelling. Thanks again for the recommendation! Have an amazing day, my friend!
When you said "life versus art," I immediately thought of the novel Martyr and remembered the story of Roya, who gave up her life with her son and husband for the sake of art. Of course, I don't see it that way at all, but in any case, she really couldn't balance life and art. Honestly, it's truly a big problem, and we can even find it in real artists like Van Gogh
I looked up Martyr, and it sounds compelling! I should check it out. Van Gogh is definitely an excellent example too. Thank you so much for watching and commenting, my friend! 😃
Congratulations on 3K subscribers and very nice format in this one. 🙏🏽
