I can't get enough of riding trains! Train travel is an adventure and if you have the time this is the best way to travel. What train should I take next?
Iregularly take the southwest chief to Chicago, and then the lake shore limited overnight to Penn station in NYC. Both are wonderful rides, though the Lake shore limited is mostly over night. What I am always happy about, is the staff on the trains. Everyone is always really nice to me (I travel alone, and am disabled, unable to climb stairs) so I need my meals brought down to me on the southwestern chief. The food is great, the people nice, and I always get a roomette on the lower level which makes it easy on my legs. I'm six foot four, and the roomette lower beds are quite roomy for me, perhaps able to accomodate someone six foot six. I wasn't able to climb to the upper berth so I don't know what they are like for someone my size. How tall are you?
@@WillEdmond Hi Will, no no I let you do the "discovery tour" of US Passenger trains. Not sure your lovely audience would stand my French accent 🙂Merry Christmas and beautiful cherished holidays and guess what, my son is admitted to Savannah College of Art and Design (Savannah), so we will go by train
Awesome video ! I subscribed to your channel after watching a video of you and Mike traveling from Chicago to San Francisco. You both are very engaging and entertaining! When is your next trip with him?
Brightline trainsets are modeled off Railjet which is a high speed train used by the national railways of Austria and the Czech Republic. The Siemens Venture railcar utilized by Brightline (and now other North American railways) is derived from the Siemens Viaggio Comfort which makes up the locomotive hauled Railjet trains. In both cases each trainset is pulled by a Siemens locomotive.
Impatiently waiting for the Tampa announcement. Brightline just got approval to build down I-4 between Orlando and Tampa but we're still unsure of exactly where the station will be in Tampa. Most Likely near Ybor city though. Exciting either way.
That was a lovely looking train! I’f you ever come to the UK most of the intercity trains go 125 miles per hour. London to Penzance on the Riviera Sleeper, is a treat!
The title and thumbnail of the video are a little misleading, the Amtrak Acela in the northeast US already hits up to 150 mph in what can be quantified as long distance service, currently, Brightline does not exceed 79 mph and acts more as a commuter service, that will change with the Orlando extension though.
@@WillEdmond great job bro. Well done. I love your energy, always smilin! I’m going to Miami in a month or so and am really excited. Seems like such a dope, fun town - and I’m from LA.
That is so cool I thought Amtrak was the only game in town period I don't believe we have anything like that on the West Coast. Once again thank you so much for bringing me along. Joe Dirt NorCal
I'm old enough to remember when you could fly on planes without having to do any crazy stuff either. I remember when you could fly on planes with a knife as long as the blade wasn't 6 in So back when men carry the pocket knife all the time, perfectly allowed on the plane
@@WillEdmond if we didn't tolerate the treatment. We could be free everywhere we go ,because that's what are rights are. Fourth amendment protects us , from what they're doing with the tsa. The very fact that people spread their legs and let somebody feel them up, just for exercising their constitutional right to travel, is why they get away with it.
Brightline needs to take over the Northeast Corridor. The service is much better than anything Amtrak can offer. It may be a slow service, but at least the trains are nice enough to sit in for long periods.
Bright line trains aren't Long Distance Trains, because they don't have Sleeping cars for overnight travels, but it's very beautiful trainsets. Great Video Fam!!!
Thanks for the love fam! Sleeping cars doesn’t make it long distance. Brightline is the first high speed rail since it will travel intercity and it will be the longest distance traveling high speed in the country. Acela on Amtrak doesn’t travel that far compared to high far Brightline will travel once the Orlando station opens. Glad you enjoyed the video.
@@WillEdmond you keep saying this, but I have no clue where you get that from. The Acela runs for 460 miles, serving the largest cities of 8 of the most populous states in the country. Brightline to Orlando will run for 330 miles, serving 4 cities within 1 single state. In terms of service Brightline is phenomenal, but it’s not the first in anything other than it being privately operated.
High speed rail meaning inter-city travel and it will be the first long high speed long distance when the Orlando station opens going at the maximum speed. Visit their site for more info.
Total misrepresentation - maximum speed is not average speed. Brightline is 100% at grade level and has many stops. In no way is it high speed; neither is Acela. So much information left out. Is the off-peak schedule less than every hour and when is there no service? Weekends and holidays? Taking a car would be much more convenient and less expensive.

I love train travel in Europe but I struggle in the US where you can’t even book seats so this looks awesome!
I would love to ride the trains in Europe! Yes, plenty of seating on the Brightline.
This is far nicer than I expected from a train service. I can’t wait until it runs up the east coast to Orlando!
