@EmEA Why would I be joking? I use a g304 for quite a while now and I ain't going back lol. What's not to love with it's low delay, affordable price, and no wires to deal with going all over the place. I can bring it anywhere and not deal with dangling cables, I can leave the mice for a long time and use it instantly the moment I move it, the battery life is so long I never turn it off most of the time, and I perform better at osu without cables. Not gonna buy a mouse with a cable and holes in em just to be a few grams lighter.
@EmEA The xm1r costs twice as much here than a g304 and even if I want to buy one I'm broke cuz I just bought a pair of skullcandy crusher wireless and a ducky one 2 mini to mod XD. Modding the one 2 mini is seriously underrated cuz the ducky one 2 mini pcb fits aftermarket cases with 1000hz polling rate and nkro so it's perfect for me who plays rhythm and fighting games, but don't want an ugly keyboard UwU
Don't forget about the part where you complete ignore keycap profiles, ending up with this weird DSA symmetrical keycaps that feels nothing like OEM/Cherry and you marvel at own stupidity, but after few days end up loving them anyways. True story

Yeah same. I first got a blue switch random Chinese keyboard and used it for over a year and then I quit gaming for a while and then got back into it and actually did research on keyboards and I ended up with a white ducky one 2 mini with cherry mx red silents and I love it

and ye my first keeb was just a cheapo board with outemu blues since 2018, modded it a year later, swapped the switches to box browns, no more clicky clacks. then i bought another outemu blue switch keeb with RGB for modding purpose after using it for a while, and then ended up swapping it to lubed gateron yellows and changing the plate mounted stabs to jwk pandas, and oh yea it sounds so much better ye boiiii

@@placeholder3863 This hobby is strange. If you go down the rabbit hole, eventually you'll end up with a whole bunch of expensive boards. And it dawns on you - it was for something as trivial as finger happiness and all the money you spent was not worth it. Then you see another keeb on a GB and you are tempted to get it... It's better not to go down the rabbit hole, but by the time you realize it, it's kind of too late.
Don’t forget the stage when a beginner asks for a full size recommendation and gets shat on by the community “you don’t need full-size it’s too big”

I started on a Corsair K65 Lux TKL and went down the rabbit hole. Now I use an NK65 Milkshake with lubed switches and stabs with a foam insert. The typing experience is heaven.
Looks like sticking with my red switch entry level prebuild keyboard was the right decision.
As someone who just discovered this rabbit hole about a week ago I'd say this is 100% accurate, except I don't have an epic clicky razor keyboard :( just a classic membrane joint.
But not for long.....
Thinking my keyboard would sound like Tfue keyboard after buying Creams and putting them into my GK61. Thats my beginner experience.

Immediately went with tofu65 months later with zealios v2 just because its expensive switch (holy panda was confusing af, buying two kind of switch? Fusion them? The hell?)
Right now kinda want to start all over, starting with gat yellow, mod with cherry housing, Currently joining a local acrylic case/plate 65% GB (local GB is god sent for how cheap it is, didnt even need to deal with tax makes it cheaper)
Learning the ropes in this hobby really is a daunting task. Tofu is a great board though, and trying out more boards and switches will definitely a good way to find something that will suit you best! Good luck and have fun.
Woah, that reminded me, when I was searching for a keyboard few months ago, I finally had stopped on the razer huntsman TE optical switch as it is pretty fast and has the "mechanical keyboard" sound. A month later the analog huntsman v2 had been released.
I ended uip buyigng a random mechawbniocal keyboard for 30 bucks, writing this with my elmak savio tempest full :sunghasses: I never miss a keyt with this thingh!

So I noticed that you did a review of the Durock Pom switch, I was wondering if you’d do a review of another durock switch I saw 415keys called snow whites? I saw them on Reddit saying it was a switch from HHHH manufactured by durock and that these switches were improved H1s. It would be cool to see your opinion on them as I’ve got some and they’re really smooth, but they are the only custom linear I’ve ever tried, so I want to see an enthusiasts thoughts on them as well, and if they really are an improved H1.

As someone trying to get into custom mechs, to some degree this is painfully accurate.
On another note, I'm purchasing an Epomaker GK68X with Gat blacks to replace my K70 Lux w MX Reds.
$250 CAD only goes so far, but I think I will be happy with my board, planning on upgrading to NK box creams in the future :)

I don't know what stage I'm on. I'm stuck on Razer Huntsman Tournament Edition, but I'm having the pervasive thought of cracking it open and lubing the switches.
If your gonna buy a Razer, get a cheap Chinese Mechanical Gaming keyboard. I did that and have been satasfied, but I am stepping up to a TKL kit from Bangood with some Gateron Milky Yellows and HK chalk keycaps. Super exited!

Unironically I bought a razer keyboard with the clicky switches a while back and now I've gone down the rabbit hole. Just the other day I ordered the Keychron Q1 and I can't wait for it to arrive - planning to mod it sometime too... might even mod my razer keyboard for the meme
Today mark the day of my first year into the mechanical keyboard world. Start off with a 25$ DareU EK84 with blue switch, then the legendary RK84 with the legendary Gateron Milky Yellow Pro and the legendary pe + tape mod. After that, a Fuhlen H75S (basically an Akko 5075B with south facing pcb and better side glow) with akko Jelly Blue ->Black->KTT Strawberry and FSA keycap->Cherry keycap.
Then i have a fun project with a FancyKey Alice 66, which was resale for 20$ because the previous owner broke the pcb which i got it fixed for 2$. I got CIY Phantom (tactile, transparent) with Akko clear white keycap. Boy its RGB is blinding.
And here we are, a year later, i've just sold the Fuhlen to build my next one: V65 R2 with KTT Darling and gmk yuru clone
That Razer keyboard was my first mech. Then I went to a Corsair K70 and now im on reserve for a GMMK Pro. I'm now in the rabbit hole, been watching Group Buys and reading switch reviews.
There's a great deal more heartbreak and disappointment than portrayed here.
Not to mention the horror. Oh the horror.
