Awesome video I did learn from this video. I’m just now starting to get into making 1/12 diorama. I just purchased my first project panels, I want to try making a castle wall from the outside perspective.
I’m working with a 32” round foam to make a resin art piece that will set inside the rim of a dining table. Looking for suggestions for best way to cut foam surface depth down to submerge rocks and keep piece flush. A glass top goes on top. What I learned here was…. Why my foam circle was not flat! Has a slight upward curve😒. This spells disaster for resin which must have level substrate! I found that Wathers tape is strong enough to hold it down. Thank you so much for your information!! I had no idea 🤷🏼♀️
Great video! I was like watching these because even though I am familiar with some of the techniques, I think it’s cool to see other peoples processes. You never know when one or two of those techniques can help bridge the gap. I was wondering if you had any suggestions or techniques for creating shapes, in particular circular shapes. As always thank you for sharing your techniques
If you’re using a hot wire table you can place a nail through some cardboard sticking upright or hot glue one to your table base that is the distance of the radius you want away from the wire, poke your foam down onto the nail and turn it 360 degrees and the nail will act as a center axis and the wire will cut your circle. Otherwise use a compass and trace a circle on your foam and cut with a knife and sand the edges or use a hot wire blade
Stumbled across your videos while trying to learn how to do this. When I cut the lines for my bricks, the cuts aren't noticeable at all.. And how deep should I cut?
Cut about 3/16” deep then drag the tip of a pencil or pen through your line to create a channel that will resemble where mortar would go, I have several videos on this, a live on where I show how and a how to paint one

Did you ever release the video for the spaceship diorama that you did or was it Patreon exclusive? I’m trying to find a specific style of angular or angled cut but idk what it is called? Like a wall with a 90-ish degree angle at the base and top of the wall? I would love to see a video or livestream of that! Thank you again for all the great videos!
I did not make any video specific to that, it’s a matter of making A JIG that set the foam at a 45 degree angle and cutting that off the edge of a long piece and gluing it into the corner
My channel members got photos with explanations while I was making that. That’s my thank you to them for supporting me now. But as my channel grows and I have more time I will publicly share stuff like that in detail. But I was once in the comments of people videos just like you, and I solved that by doing research and trying things I figured all this out on my own, try starting cutting some pink foam in the shapes you want and see where it goes, my original sculpt of the broken ground started with that

Do I need to wear a mask while cutting this foam due to fiberglass?
There is no fiberglass here, do it in a well ventilated area or have a small fan blowing the vapor away from you towards an open door or window.

you want to square your edges better use a piece of wood as a guide to sand against . only takes a second to set foam on it and go
