I was just about to comment that. There were so many moments in the Remake that I was like only OG 's will know this or understand. Now it's great to see a new generation play and get it.

There are several moments where only those who played the original game will pick up on subtle context or understand what they are seeing, most noticeable with flashbacks and visions characters have in Remake of events that happened in OG FF7 that these characters should not yet be experiencing. It's a trip! Not to mention the ending of Remake! Plus, I'm a firm believer that Avalanche was able to save MANY more Midgar citizens from the falling of the sector 7 plate, in Remake. In the original, it was kind of implied that the whole sector was pretty much destroyed. I think they aided a majority of the townspeople to safety, in Remake.
I just completed the cycle of watching all the Rebirth reactions for this trailer that I cared to see, and yours is easily my favorite! Can’t wait to see you finish FF7!
Now that you’re a die hard FF7 fans like us, once you’re done with the OG game, I’d go and watch Maximillandood’s FF7 content (trailers and talks) the devs for FF7 used to watch one of his trailer reaction videos for inspiration. And he has so much love for the game and so much lore knowledge it’s super fun to dive in with someone who has so much appreciation for the game

Be sure to watch Advent Children (Complete is the better version) after your OG play-through and before this comes out. So very much in Remake referenced the movie, and I'm sure Rebirth will also do the same.
Hey Alyx! It took me several hours of trying yesterday, but I was eventually successful in placing a pre-order for a collector's edition of Rebirth. I freaked out to this trailer - this is quite the feat, since I'm kind of past my days of gaming on a regular basis. Few games or series excite me, but Final Fantasy has always been one that I anticipate and 7 is my favorite game of all time, hands down. I think I was doing "Home Alone face" throughout the entire trailer. I think Square-Enix has confirmed that Rebirth will end at the mid-point of original FF7's story....I think I saw Bone Village in the background of one of Tifa's fighting scenes. I think all of us original FF7 fans are wondering if Rebirth will end at a rather emotionally devastating part of the game's story.
I think it will end at *that* part of the story. And I’m not ready to experience that all over again 😭😭😭 I’m glad you got the CE though! I’m jelly! I don’t have the money for it lmao
@@AngelAlyx I think so, too. I've been thinking it since Remake ended, but now that Square has confirmed that Rebirth ends at the Forgotten Capitol, I'm feeling certain. It would be a climactic ending and one that will have us all wanting to play the third installment. My instinct is that Rebirth will end with that part of the story going the same as it was in OG FF7, however, I feel that they will give us some sort of hope that we can change that fate, by trying to merge different worlds/timelines.. it makes sense...stay true to the original game, but do something unexpected that may result in a much better fate for these characters and the planet.
This is the big difference between someone who played the OG and a newcomer. If you had a context, some of the flashbacks and happenings in the remake gave you the chills while a newcomer would barely notice them or they simply wouldn't make any sense to him. I'm also very hyped for Rebirth and looking forward to watching you enjoying this ride.

We also saw Caith Sith and Vincent but still no Cid Highwind yet. Also that was definitely Zack's timeline we saw where he's alive. I just can't wait for this!😁

Yeah, they showed a metric TON of stuff. They said the game is nearly 100 hours to reach the end of the game. They also said the game's ending point is the midpoint of FFVII. There's also the conspicuous complete absence of Cid. Certain locations are also not shown at all, which makes me suspect they'll be locations for the final entry. Rocket Town, Temple of the Ancients, Sleeping Forest, Bone Village, City of the Ancients, Icicle Town, Gaia's Cliff, Wutai. My guess is that they're going to save playable Cid or Vincent for DLC for Rebirth, and then have these final locations be for a massive final entry with the new war against Wutai in full swing + the Weapons wreaking havoc. I absolutely love that they made the world big and complex enough to justify the various transporation methods.

They said there would be a focus on indie and third party, and there was. Practically every previous State of Play focused on the same thing also had a bit of first party stuff thrown in, as it is PlayStation's show, after all. FF7 Rebirth is also very much third party :P
I think just like the Remake, this is going to surpass the OG in everything. Plus they want to give us a new experience with some surprises which is amazing imo. I don’t need them to do the exact same things personally.

_ALL_ the emotions 💭 Honestly, I think also we as players as well as the developers have the rare opportunity to experience old classic games right on the cusp of videogame graphics beginning exponential growth. All the late-90's FF are ripe for remake redevelopment (and increased excitement if players started from OG's). 💡 This provides some kind of strong emotional draw that can be difficult with new modern RPGs because super nice graphics are basically common; story & creativity are the only outlets to set apart from the rest. FF7 had the unique convergence of everything back in 1996-97.

I have a theory that the hooded man in Rufus's military parade (near the end of the trailer), is Glenn from FF 7 Ever Crisis.
I think it's Genesis lol. He has a brown beard which matches Genesis' hair color while Glenn is a blonde.
