Notable for me for 3 reasons: 1) One of the best kids' TV themes of my childhood, up there with "Knightmare". 2) The books were written in the same county where I grew up. 3) In my native UK, the show was narrated by Ringo Starr, and my mother told me he'd once played drums in a famous band when she was a girl, would I like to hear them...?
Chas n Dave are legends but there are much better songs to react to - Gertcha, Rabbit, The Sideboard Song to name just but a few of many!

Fun fact: in their session-musicians-for-hire days, they played on "I Got The..." by Labi Siffre, later sampled by Eminem for "My Name Is".

I think someone is having the piss out of you fella; Chas and Dave are the height of cheese. You only heard them at Christmas at an aunties house who hated you but you couldn't leave cos you were waiting for your presents. Close your eyes and imagine a mountain made entirely from cheese... now play them again
