- Norwegian-Italian singer Alessandra Mele announced her withdrawal from giving out Norway's votes during the Eurovision final in protest at Israel's participation.
In a video posted on her social media account, she expressed gratitude for the opportunity to announce Norway's votes on national TV but stated that she believes Eurovision's motto, "United by Music", is just empty words.
Alessandra added: "There's a genocide going on. I'm asking you all to please open up your eyes and open up your hearts. Let love lead you to the truth. It's right in front of you." She concluded by saying: "Free Palestine."

Btw, did you notice that the UN (OCHA) corrected the numbers for dead women and children in Gaza and reduced both of them by 50%? So Hamas lied about that. Who knew?? Total is still the same but now almost half is (military aged?) men. Now, why would Hamas wildly exaggerate the number of killed women and children, claim ’genocide!’ from the beginning and portray themselves as the victims in a war they started? To influence ignorant and emotional people, many of whom are predisposed towards antisemitism and easy marks for antisemitic propaganda.
