Good Morning Dennis, I LOVE THIS REEL more than the Penn as it see to fit my hand better and more comfortable to hold. I see one on Ebay I bid on it and the Sears version as well cant have to many!!!!!
Beautiful old reel. Love to see such classics still in service. Dennis, I enjoy your channel very much, such great and informative content. I was wondering what type of cleaner you might recommend for internal parts if an ultrasonic cleaner is not an option. Thanks!
I generally use penetrating oil as a degreaser for internal parts. I couple that with cotton swabs, bristle brushes, like a tooth brush and small picks to clean grooves. Some folks use brake or carb cleaners, but I don't like the smell. If you use those, do the cleaning outside - Thanks for watching and for asking - Dennis
@@2ndChanceTackle No worries, Dennis! Appreciate the info, thank you! Your channel is a great resource for those of us who like to tinker on our own equipment.
I have one of these made after True Temper bought Ocean City, I’m going to have to try and find it. I believe it’s still in the original box with the instructions included in the box. Now to remember where I put it……🤷🏻
I'm not sure - I will need to check. I know they were around in the 1970s, but I am unsure exactly when they were introduced. There was a magnetic brake on the Ocean City Inductor reels in the 1950s, but that was not the Centrifugal ones that came later - Dennis
Yes - they are worth fixing. The issue will be in parts availability if something is needed. The reels were well made and will last and last with proper maintenance - Dennis
For seventy years old it's definitely in excellent condition
Yes it is! Good, well made reels can go on fishing for years and years - Dennis
Another of my favorite classics 🤩... Thx for sharing... Tight lines from germany 😀👍🏻

When was the first time in which they introduced centrifugal brakes?

@@2ndChanceTackle I know about the inductor. About centrifugal brakes...maybe some Abu in the 1950?
