As an American, all I can say about all of these Les Paul style guitars coming out is this: Keep them coming we need great guitars that are not over priced or needing 200 dollars of setup after purchase. I tried the whole Gibson thing when I was younger and got burned by it. Over priced and hit or miss quality is not the way to make a person a brand loyal customer.
On the other hand, I bought a 2nd hand (never played) 2019 tribute series Les Paul for 700 bucks and I love it.
Yeah, unfortunately that is true. . . I LOVE my '91 Studio and my '94 Standard and they play and sound better then anything right now, that's not from the Custom Shop. For less money. You really can't buy a non Custom Gibson, if you want a good and trustworthy guitar. It has been like this for years now. BUT they are getting better again :)
I think we need to start flipping the question. Instead of asking how a great guitar is so "cheap", start asking why a Gibson or a Fender is so expensive
Gib*** is going to sue all your family and pets 😃
I love that Henning always calls it the way it is and has no time for cork sniffers. A good guitar is a good guitar, no matter who makes it or what factory it comes out of.
The new ""breed" of guitars are better than ever and the prices are terrific!
Forget all those BIG name geetars from the usual suspects as their quality, QC, etc. has gome down the crapper!!!
We need MORE guitars like this!!!
Great video, nice guitar! ✌🏼
Texas toast is a prime example of hand made quality at an affordable price
I reckon someone else may have mentioned it? but I'm pretty sure it's a longitudinal or horizontal scarf joint same as is used on classical guitars, essentially the scarf is in the headstock itself, an elegant solution if you ask me.! Which you're not... ha!
ASK a Romanian what 'pulli' means! ;oP
Keep Up The Good Work!
Wow! All this and much less coin than a Gibson... amazing! Quality seems to be very good and hats off to Henning for honesty as usual... Go figure.
Nice review. Interesting that this one is not nitro, while the CR35 and CR30 are nitro. Do they make a higher priced Les Paul with nitro?
I own two Crossroad Thinline guitars and yes, the built quality and sounds are awesome! These models even have a NC finish. Good to see you reviewing this rather unknown brand Henning!
2.6 Kg is a Les Paul player's dream
You're obviously enjoying the hell out of playing that guitar! It sounds fantastic!!! 👍👍👍😃😃😃
Isn’t that headstock scarfed on with the joint running into the headstock itself, in a similar manner to the Sigma acoustics I own?
Asking for a friend. 😬👍
I like the simple look of the guitar. 899 with case is fine. Quality has its price.
Nice guitar indeed.
its expensive for a chineese guitar
but it’s also very good for any level of guitar
Nice guitars. Shame they are made in China. That‘s a no no for me.
Stanford are literally top notch price/quality guitars.
Thanks for the review!
beautiful plaintop it has on it !!
13:13 nice noodles
That's a nice guitar. And love your reviews.
You are the best.
I have one. It's fine, although I switched out the pups for Seymour Duncans. Significant difference! I also have the Thinline C35-AV, switched out those pups, too. The Marquee would be my electric stage guitar. It is extremely light and easy to play. Setup out of the box for both these guitars was flawless. No need for my luthier friend to work on them.
Larson headstock is from the Larson Bros. Maybach Lesters also have a Larson headstock (Maybach owns the Larson Bros brand iirc).

Hey Henning, how do these compare to more low priced FGN LP guitars like the LS-10?
Great guitar, i would love the same violin finish than the 335, and better fretboard inlays, or not...
Very pretty single cut, nicely improved access cut IMO. Case at 899$ is not bad at all. Katalox is "Mexican Royal Ebony", something I've see on some acoustics. The headstock attachment is very similar as what Godin does.
Thanks for sharing Henning.
Stan and Ford don't seem to have much presence in North Am.
BTW Nice call out to Max :) If you have another 42 Gear Street, might want to have him do a deep dive :D Perhaps just look under the pickups and remove the jack to see if a probe camera can show the internals.
I always like how some people will talk down about "Chibsons", like Gibson-owned Epiphone doesn't sell tons of Chinese made guitars, or Gibson themselves never use Chinese parts.
Of course there's legit ethical concerns to be raised about Chinese manufacturing, but there's no earthly reason why a Chinese builder would be inherently less capable than anyone else of building a quality instrument.
I have an Stanford Marquee. Playability is great, as are the sounds. For the price it's a great instrument. But if you buy this, do change the switch, it broke quite fast for me (and during a gig). I replaced the switch, pots and wiring and it sounds even better now :)
Great review as always, thank you. I can't find this guitar on the Stanford website; is that weird? Also, Stanford say the Crossroad has a nitro finish, so maybe the Marquee does too.
So another good Les Paul that replicates the same issues as the Les Pauls from the 50's ... that attempt at a shaved heel looks like Gibson's modern series half assed attempt at a contoured heel, please guitars makers, after 60 years you still can't solve the original design flaws?
Wow that sounds nice indeed. I like the look of the body too. The neck/headstock is in my opinion could be something they could improve on. The dots are kinda boring and atleast for me dont fit that well with the style. And the Headstock kinda needs something to not be boring. Overall still a great looking guitar, specially sounds ofcourse. And i dont understand why cases arent standard for anything above 500.
you start with chords after quite a while of talking and having the guitar on its strings on your knees... tunings seemed to hold pretty good ey?
You changed your intro music nice one. Not the old sound like tatort. She sings awsome. ;)
Nice guitar. You definitely can have Authentic Play on that thing ;)
Too bad it has a poly finish. Looks nice otherwise.
Sorry, Prestige heritage is way better, they use better parts for less money with a beautiful hardshell case
For less money? XD. Why you lying beach?
If Made in China turns you off, play an Eastman.
Looks good. Sounds great. Could cover any genre.🤗
I just checked the Thomann website, they don't list the Marquee... yet? 🤔🤔🤔
they just need to get them back in stock
How would you compare it to the Yamaha Revstar 820 Dope AF? In terms of comfort, feel, playability. Soundwise your videos are pretty informative, but there are things ears and eyes cannot do... I want to buy a new guitar around that price point and Revstar looks cool, sounds cool. This one too. So difficult to decide... I value your opinion:)
I think they are fundamentally different instruments and you can’t compare them. The Stanford is a Semi Hollow with an open sound.
Sounds pretty good to my ear..!
Both guitars look and sound great !
F-holes, yes !!!
Sounds and looks great. If it had a bound fretboard it would be perfect!
would really love your opinion on Charvels
Good video, can you make a review for EART explorer 1 guitar? :3
never heard of it
Either I am really deaf or this guitar has got better drive sound than an actual lp.....thank you for his revelation indeed!!
@@fredriksvard2603 I agree because these instruments are trying to capture the late 50's - early 60's kind of crunch drive magic and with a proper amp the feel is there!
@@fredriksvard2603 Thus I seek for PRS ZM model!!
Damn that is more paul than expected
11:39 like that
Affordable Singlecuts count me in
This is a freaking great guitar! Great Review!
Flattop 🤷🏻♀️
Super good looking. Amazing top.
No way I could touch anything made in China witch a stick. Especially if it’s Huber rip-off.
90% of what you own is made in china
@@EytschPi42 NONE of my guitar stuff is made in China. Tubes and some cables maybe ;)
My issue with China is not about quality.
I'm on your side.
Why is somebody "dumb", because he doesnt want to buy a guitar from china?
Ofcourse its a personal statement... what else...
Instrument looks great and the price is good.
But china is a "no no" for me aswell
I fully understand
I searched every dealer link on the Stanford website and I couldn't find one store that carried this guitar..
It's really difficult to buy an instrument if it's not for sale.. shame
reverb has some and some shops in the UK as well... write to Stanford directly, they are in stock
@@EytschPi42 thank you..
Thomann has them.
at 0:25, dog hair or crack in the finish? Also with that heel joint, is the upper fret access like a normal les paul, or is it a tiny bit more manageable?
dog hair.... and better than a LP
@@EytschPi42 Interesting, the intonation on my 1975 ibanez LP is way beyond saving (like it's literally spot on on the octave and then 7 frets further it's half a note flat...) so I'm gonna look for a new groove chonk, this is definitely an option. :)
....And for about the same price or a little more you could get a Gibson Les Paul Tribute, or a Gibson Junior/Special Tribute. But that's if you really want Gibson on the headstock, or a guitar that will hold its value - Yes, the Tributes are "no-thrills" Gibsons, but they're still Gibsons and American made.. so that's also an option for people too.
it Gibson are bullies and I personally won’t support that behaviour
@@EytschPi42 Why are Gibson bullies?
long story, but there is a lot to find about that online
It’s beautiful
I was into the review till you used the Lord's name in vain.
well, that’s too bad... but I am sure he’s cool with it. I called and asked and he said it’s totally OK.
Actually... he was so happy to get a shoutout that he instantly went over to patreon and started supporting my channel.
So, technically, this is now a lord approved and sponsored channel... hmm... maybe I don’t have to pay taxes anymore.... hmm... maybe I can get away with horrible acts of pedophilia...
That lord dude... he lets a lot of things slide, doesn’t he?
@@EytschPi42
Nope... he doesn't let anything slide. Not even mockery.
Not listed at Thomann?
They stocked them.... so if you ask, they will again.
Is it not on Thomann yet?
they don’t have stock... write them and they will order more
Where can I find that backing track
elevated jam tracks
@@EytschPi42 thanks!
Seems to play decently, you can always upgrade the tuners and such afterward. But in my opinion its not worth 899.00 more like 400.00
what do you base your opinion on... the tuners are more than fine... you gotta play one to say what you said
Are your ears broken?
The headstock is not glue "flat", it's a scarf neck joint, but in the headstock part is glued fretbaord side. So the visible joint is upper on the headstock and flat because not on the neck carve. So it's pretty solid actually, just don't walk on it :)
The harder you try talking yourself into actually liking that chibson the more im definitely turned off. Of course the cheap looking headstock, cheap tuners, and dot inlays on a single cut already did that. The headstock joint REALLY shows what shiny hunk of sh!t it is.
yeah yeah... play one and say that again!
@@EytschPi42 not happening... especially for that kind of 💰. I'd get an Korean Agile LP before a Chinese whatever they are calling it this month. Nine times out of 10 I reach for a prestige anyway...as I'm sure you would 😜
@@justincase9173 Why so aggressive?
Since I‘m a proud Maybach owner and by now a die hard fan boy, I‘ll get one like that as a „take me everywhere and beat me up“-guitar.
This way, I can have something that feels nearly like home when sitting drunk as drunk could be on a festival camp ground without the constant fear of damaging or losing it.
It‘s Maybach‘s „Epiphone“ if you will.
It could use trapezoid inlays though…
Where can I buy this from the USA?
check the link under the video... there should be a contact on that page
@@EytschPi42 Es ist auf Deutsch. Ich verstehe nicht...
