Have you tasted any of these German desserts? 🍰
Yeah alot, since I'm from there
Yeah all of them, I'm German
Also, if you didn't try it yet, you have to try the "Donauwelle", it's one of my favorite cakes. It has a layer of white and dark cake (the batters get a bit mixed together) with cherries in it, then a thick vanilla cream and a layer of chocolate on top of that.
I hope you understand what I mean, my English vocabulary is rather limited when it comes to desserts 😂.
Yes because im from Germany
But Not often because i have a Celiac disease
all of them, i'm also german 🤭 Nussecken are the best! Unfortunately bc of diatery issues i can't eat wheat or sugar anymore. But i'm glad other people can enjoy food i also loved to eat 😋
if you can get it, you need to try an "Amerikaner", it's pretty sweet with a sugar glaze on top, but it's very tasty and okay to eat once in a while!
Hi from Germany! Yes those are typical german desserts. But I promise you, you will love them, when you eat them here in Germany 🇩🇪. I am absolutely sure they mean well and do their best. But everything looks really dry or overbaked ☺️
As a German, watching you react to those made me really happy^^
Ich bin jetzt nur hungrig
@@mapferl ich auch🙈
Bin aus Österreich, aber bin auch voll glücklich! Schaut alles mega lecker aus!
@@MrsDaedalus_ Bayern ist ja Österreich haha
So cute how she pronounces "Nussecke"
I am German and I approve everything that you saw is known in Germany to be super yummy 😋
My favorite German desert is the Bienenstich, it means beestung because this tasty cake contains cream made with honey 🍯 and almonds on the top of the cake 😍
I could eat this every day.
Greatings ❤️
Same, Bienenstich ist sooooo lecker! Aber nichts geht über Omas Butterkuchen frisch aus dem Ofen 😍😍😍
"Stich" is also ment to be for the custard. It is when a cream like substanz is made solid by cooking it. It then can be cut or a bite taken with a spoon without it losing its shape. Kinda like flan.
I wanna eat Bienenstich too, please God just drop a slice on my head. It looks so delicious I want itttttt plz
It's also called "Beestung" because it attracts a lot of bees and wasps in the summer and it wasn't uncommon to get stung by one of these little things when you tried to defend your cake
The Bienenstich looks soo sad :( The top needs to have wayy more almonds!
That ladies pronunciation physically hurt me I can't lie 😭😭😭
@@emma4282 😂 Same-
And it’s better with Vanillepudding instead of Schlagsahne!
Sorry but everything was a little sad… I am born and bred, raised and fed German…and this was a bad interpretation of the German baker’s craft
@@tinakoernermashood6422 i can relate, American eat yellow rice (Indonesian dish) but it was the sad looking compare to what i have here
Simple answer, they suck at represent the actual dish
This is the sadest Bienenstich I have ever seen - coming from a german. The others were looking dry and not good as well. This is not an accurate representation of German desserts.😕
True. Ive been really disappointed with what she has been getting there in terms of quality. She needs to visit germany and get the real deal.
This tbh
Tbf, they are better than most. But yeah.. kinda like McDonalds representing American burger culture
It’s because everything Americanized tastes like shit. I’m Canadian so I would know 😂😂 jk
Dunno what kind of god bakeries you got where you live but I've never seen nussecken that look anywhere close to that good here in SH
I still cant over how you pronounce Nussecke
It is so beautiful
It's unfortunately wrong though and that's not her fault.
For those who are interested, it's called " *Nuss* ecke ", with the stress on the first syllable. Because Nuss 🌰 = nut and Ecke ⤴️ = corner/ nook.
@@gill426 yes i know that is wrong but thats why i Like how she says it
It is Just so cute
Nuuseke
“Glaze or no glaze?”
“no glaze”
*YOU MONSTER*
She sounded sad saying it too lol
she may not like glaze, don't call her a monster
Proper Bienenstich is so nutty at the top, creamy pudding in the middle with a thinner dough in between. It is my favourite German dessert.
Those pastries look so amazing
As someone from Germany I’m happy our baked goods get appreciated,we have so e really good stuff
I love Leavenworth. I recommend going in the winter, when it’s even prettier.
leavensworth is so beautiful!! cool to see ppl exploring east wa
Looks delicious💖 stay safe and healthy
OMG leavenworth! That place is so cool! I love it when Washington is featured in videos, its such a cool place! Leavenworth is really cool during the winter, they have lots of seasonal shops and events and stuff. Very cute. They got mini gold as well.
These are really nice German desserts, I love Bienenstich. Streuselkuchen is my favourite along with Cheesecake though. Streuselkuchen just means sprinkle cake although there aren’t the sprinkles you know in America on top. But I believe it’s German, I honestly don’t know. Unfortunately I can’t eat Nussecken (nut corners) though cause I’m allergic to nuts
You should try "schwarzwälder kirschtorte" (blackforest cherry cake) , greetints from the Black Forest
You know, Americans know Black Forest cake, but most don't know the Black Forest is an actual place lol
Let’s take the moment to appreciate Janelle for how much she uploads and how much effort she’s been putting into us!!❤️
I love the Washington recommendations thank you!
finally accurate representation, all of these things are actually a thing in germany :D
Nussecken are also my favourite but Bienenstich is also pretty good^^
YEY! As a German, I am so hyped up with you tasting those desserts.
THESE LOOK SO GOOD 😭
Omg i love that place 🥺
That Bienenstich looks so sad 😭
Next time see if you can find some cheesecake, or plum cake, they are amazing! The cheesecake isn't as sweet, usually has a nice lemon flavor, it's so good.
The vanilla custard make me rewatch just to make sure I am wrong
It's a Puddingschnecke :D my personal favorite
It's basically a puff pastry pretzel with vanilla custard
That looks delicious ate jean 🤤
Ok, I love Leavenworth, literally the best place to experience a change in culture without actually having to leave the country
Absolutely love pastries and cakes! Would be in heaven there!!
Those all look yummy 😋
I love Leavenworth! It's so beautiful and has tons of cute shops and good food
As a German I’m very proud to see people enjoy our food and desserts! I haven’t had those in forever as I live in Michigan and don’t travel far from my town
Wat für German? Du bist US Amerikaner. Wie ignorant kann man anderen Kulturen ggü eigentlich sein?
I’m relying on Google Translate for your message, but I would like to say that I would assume they lived in Germany previously but moved to the US, hence why they said they haven’t had them recently
@@Xoider 🤡
It's so nice that there is a German bakery! I loved Nussecken as a child, but today, I like Bienenstich best.
God they all look AMAZING
THOSE ARE AWESOME
Omg I love Leavenworth!!! I live not to far away so me and my family visit during the fall because it’s so pretty!! I recommend it!
That’s the saddest looking Bienenstich I’ve ever seen
Okay this would make going to a wedding worth it 🤤
Yes, agree with you on the brownie dessert, love hazelnuts too!
I WENT THERE RECENTLY!!
I had these in Germany. They were super good. I use to walk to the bakery every day for a pastry and while out I got tea bc I’m not a coffee person.
i live in seattle, and i went to leavenworth in december last year and it was so pretty! the pretzels there are amazing as well :)
There’s this amazing bakery called Schmidt’s in Ohio and it’s soooo good! Even though it’s not technically a German dessert, their coconut cream pie is the best I’ve ever had!
Really? I live Michigan and I would love to go try that!
Omg yes!!! I live in Columbus and can confirm the coconut cream pie is a 11/10
I want to try that! But I live in Finland ,so I can't get it here, really sad!!
@@samrocks898 ahh that’s so cool! I’ve only met a couple of other people from Columbus on UA-cam lol
Love Bavarian cream in everything
all of those are so good. i miss them
It all looks so good!
those look so good. i wanna visit germany some day. for sure. traveling seems really fun and there are some other places i'm imterested in visiting.
My favorite is the baumkuchen. It’s a must try
Watching your videos makes me hungry
her: which ones will you order?
me: the whole store
As somebody deathly allergic to almonds, it hurts to see such good looking food because I can't eat it 😔
LOOOKS SO YUMMY
I’m Turkish living in Germany and Bienenstich is sooooo good
i hope to see you in germany
My of my families close friend who I call “uncle” live in Leavenworth! We don’t get to see him that often because of where we live in WA but when we do get to go it’s so fun! The town is definitely German and I’ve gotten to try so many German foods. Thanks for visiting ☺️
Hope you enjoyed it!
Your Bienenstich had outrageously little almond caramel on top!!!
2nd 3rd look divine
Bienenstich and Nussecken are sooooooo freaking delicious!
Look so good
In the nussecke you dont make chocolate in the dough.. Its a normal dogh with lots of nuts (i use 50/50 almond and hazelnut) peach jelly inside for a layer and then outside the chocolate. Just at one side. Sorry for my Bad english im from germany :) you should try the "Franzbrötchen"
Edit: Germany is germany and Bavaria is Bavaria 😄 We dont even have exactly the same language 😄
I want to try all of them 😋
I loveeee Bienenstich 🤤🤤
Nussecke is also mein Favorit ❤️
I’ll order and eat all of that!😅😋
I have never seen a bienenstich that looks like that lol
Nussecken Are like one of my faves here
OMG i would have ordered the Puddingbrezel (Pretzel made out of Puff Pastry filled with Vanilla Custard). They are sooooooooooo yummy😍😍😍
I'm from Germany and I like the "Nussecke"
All of them look so good! I wish I can go to Germany 😩
I want all of them 🤤🤤🤤🤤🤤🤤🤤🤤🤤🤤🤤🤤🤤
You should check out more of eastern Washington, Jeanelle! Walla Walla is super cool.
The Bienenstich looks quite dry and usually it's baked in a rectangle form
I'm German and my mum worked in a family run bakery when I was younger and I've never in my life seen a rectangular Bienenstich oO
Neither the homemade ones I've had or the ones I've seen in bakeries have been anything but round.
Maybe it's a regional thing? I grew up/live in Southwest Germany (3 different states, never seen it rectangular).
But it sure is the saddest Bienenstich I've ever seen, they've really skimped on the almonds.
Im guessing this place is amazing during Xmas.
as someone that hates cinnamon but has always wanted to try a cinnamon roll, the almond roll sounds so perfect!! booking a flight to germany as we speak ✈️
Those custard pretzels at the beginning are calling my name. Yuuuum.
No but sounds amazing
I love Nussecken haha, I used to have those all the time when my school's cafeteria was still open. not a healthy breakfast but a nice one 😅
Aw, Leavenworth. Took a vacation there once, and it was a really nice place, but I didn't visit this place in particular. Maybe I should go back?
Another dessert you should try- I don't remember the name but when we go to Leer or Bunde (German towns) for groceries we stop by this bakery sometimes and they have these soft round breads with custard, fruit and gelatine on top and it tastes SO GOOD.
That sounds a lot like Plunderstückchen. I love them with strawberries on top.
@@annat.2849 THAT'S THE NAME- Thank you :D
The ones we eat always got strawberry, kiwi and peach on top. Unbeatable combination.
Have you tried German chocolate cake it’s soooo gooddd
Jeanelleats Girl I love your content ure videos r legit, 2 legit 2 quit!!! Mad love from Florence Az!! from one foodie to another, In and out cheeseburger cheers my fellow foodie friend! Tell Sen pai I love his stuff as well I’m a huge fan!! Your crew is siiick u guys make UA-cam fun!
Please try and make your own Bienenstich! I‘ll even translate a recipe for you because the one you had looked just sad. 😅 It‘s one of my favourite cakes!
I would get the bienenstich, and that milk custard pastry thats shaped like a pretzel looks delicious.
Hearing Leavenworth jumpscared me. Since I was little my family stop by there if we were going elsewhere and it was in the same direction, or also the occasional day trip if it had been a while, so I am very familiar. I always get so startled when the people I watch mention places in my bubble haha
Looks big Yum 😋
Eating them almost every week and couldn’t imagine a life without them ngl
I remember buying that hazelnut nussecke every morning at a backery before going to school. It’s my favourite.
That Bienenstich looks really... Sad though. In Germany, I've never eaten one this bad xD
I have never the that really looks good
I’ve had all those desserts from that exact place lol I go There all the time
Hazelnut is my favourite. My gran is German😊
not a huge fan of german foods but i do absolutely love their almond desserts. lordy at aldi they sell bienenstich and this "germany luxury cake" with marzipan instead of regular frosting. both are super delicious 🤤 can only get them during german week tho twice a year lol
AAAAAYE I WENT THERE BEFORE IT WAS LIT ASF
I love German food. Especially, the potato dumplings
Potato dumplings?
I'm german and I really like Nussecken
The last one
Ok, it's Sunday. In Bavaria. All bakeries are closed. And you make me crave Bienenstich and Nussecken... Not fair!
That pretzel with the egg tart thing in the middle look bussin as hell
In Germany, that is called a “Puddingbretzel”. It is a pretzel out of puff pastry and vanilla pudding. I really enjoy eating it from time to time.
That's not egg that's vanilla pudding/custard lol
Nussecken sind einfach Kindheit
I used to live in germany for 4 years, a lot of the desserts are just so 😫
