Second game where Spirit Loop is being misplayed on the channel, it would only target Arca's creatures, not the rest of the table. I got a good chuckle of talking about why Mat lost due to lack of ramp when the whole table went after him once he played the Rhystic Study, that sure is one way to frame it I must say.
I still absolutely love your storm dihada deck. The first game you played with it on your channel surprised the hell out of me and its definitely one of my favorites you play.
Mat should have been dead after the Agadeem’s Awakening. 10:25 Mat is at three life, Grim Guardian triggers itself, and then is followed up by Rune of Mortality and Spirit Loop for the remaining two. The aura’s should have been pointed elsewhere, and the spirit loop can’t enchant opponent’s creatures anyway, but Andrew’s following turn obliterates everyone so it probably didn’t matter.
If possible, Id love to see that myrkul decklist. I have a ghave deck that has kinda grown stale to me recently, so i was surprised to see its inclusion in a myrkul deck! there seemed to be a lot of overlap between decklists, so id just be curios if i could make something similar while not having to get too many new cards.
Bel'akor !!! My favorite commander, my deck is really similar to this one in term of the creature that you have. Here some cards i add tough, maybe the cards that make the biggest difference: i have an heartless summoning as well for cost reduction, it give your creature -1/-1 but the 2 colorless spell reduction for 1B is too good. Something i add in my deck as well that i find really useful is the enchantment that copy the creature when you cast it. Enchantment like molten echoes, flameshadow conjuring, mirror march, splinter twin and reflection of ittjara. The red enchantment allow me some really big turn, you will have your original ETB trigger, your copy ETB trigger and your combat damage, thanks to the haste keyword from those enchantment. I add sunbird invocation for free spell as well thanks to the big casting cost of your demon. Because of those enchantment though i had to reduce the number of creature. Personally i like having less creature but multiple trigger for each of them. As for the spell, i have some counter spell but i have some redirect spell or copy as well "deflecting swat", "reverberate", "reiterate", "fork", "wild ricochet" , deflecting swat and wild ricochet saved me a lot against counterspell that "cannot be counter".
Literally the first line of text of spirit loop, "Enchant creature you control." Missing it once, understandable. Missing it the 17 more times it was cast this game? Really?
Ummm, Mat lost because he was getting kicked around *a lot* throughout the game between life lost and board state losses. I'm surprised he survived as long as he did considering he was at 11 life by turn 5.
Obviously budget allowing but my personal suggestions for eriette are that curse of exhaustion and overwhelming splendor are really important includes, you're playing a disney villain fear not to include cards that will make people upset (I've considered curse of conformity for a second worse splendor but that does feel like it's a much more narrow range of decks that get countered).
I know everyone is already saying this, but I think people are blindly putting spirit loop on their decks thinking it will act as spirit link/vampiric link with recursion bonus. As stated by lots of people below, this is not true. And when you realize it, you notice maybe spirit loop is not that great since you will not be attacking that much in an Eriette deck and you could swap by another card that would give draw/advantage or even another good curse to play on opponents/opponents creatures.
2nd game in the same week that sees Spirit loop misplayed. It’s the first line of text. READING the card explains the card. I sound like a jerk, I know , sry.
The Devoted Druid token is a noncreature enchantment. Therefore, no matter how many -1/-1 counters it gets, it won't die, so you can untap it to your heart's content. Not being a creature also means it doesn't have summoning sickness, so it can tap for mana right away.
That just flew over my head. I even asked myself whether the tokens retain their power and ability to attack when the deck was being presented at the beginning of the video. I understand now, thanks @@theaamanable
Andrew I assumed you kept the opener to play Faithless Looting t1 but you did nothing til t3. Seems like a waste of turns, especially at a high(er) power table. Congrats tho 😉
Guy who plays Myrkul: “I’m not a fan of infinite combos and just want to make cool enchantments.” Also guy who plays myrkul: *plays a 2-card combo with his general*. I guess at the worst it’s not an auto win combo but he isn’t obligated to play it there’s many other cool options. Just do what you want the deck to do I hate the “oops I combo’d sorry” people. Like you put it in there don’t act like you didn’t 😂 maybe if it’s a 4/5+ card combo I’m more okay with that but hey let him cook I guess
Don't forget to tell Arca Spirit loop can't enchant other creatures that you don't control!
Someone did that on the last game I watched here too
I mean, c'mon! Why can't they have a hard-to-kill Spirit Link that soft-neutralizes a threat?! /s

Of course people start targetting the guy who just got hos Rhystic blown up instead of the dude draining the entire table. Peak assessment
Crazy to blame Mat’s loss on a lack of ramp when he was getting bullied the entire game and was at 11 life by turn 5
Rhystic Study does that to a person.
@@nicholasfarrell5981true, but they destroyed it super fast, he was still focused down:(
To be fair, he also had Be’lakor out after the fact. Which means either remove Be’lakor or its controller asap

So you attest a lack of ramp for mat, whose ramp got blown up everytime he played any? :D

Spirit Loop says, "Enchant creature you control." Is he cheating or did no one actually read that card?

Did they forget the Eriette gain life trigger for the first two at least?
at 4:50 myrkul player could sacrifice taysa with phyrexian tower. It will prevent drawing cards for Arca and drain life
Yeah there were a few weird plays by Myrkul there. I feel like they should have been able to pull a win once the infinite mana came out.
“My deck is the best. These other ones weren’t really doing anything. Needed help with ramp”
Correct.
Is it possible that they missed the lifegain from Eriette? She is more that just life drain.
Drain normally implies loss and gain.

I love Dihada so much.
Love this Dihada deck!
that certianly a way to play dihada i have fine fully as a legends deck but with a few combos such as flicker underworld breach
Dihada spellslinger?! Just like in the outro, i assumed legendary matters.
What other directions would you take this deck?
Graveyard combo, she's just a free spell
Dwarf tribal
Any chance of an updated Dihada list?
Any chance we can get the updated decklists?
I second this!
Ummm, Mat lost because he was getting kicked around *a lot* throughout the game between life lost and board state losses. I'm surprised he survived as long as he did considering he was at 11 life by turn 5.
Yeah he got piled on early. But I play Be'lakor too so I kinda understand

Great take away! I’m building her deck right now so I added those
I play both Dihada and Belakor so this was fun to see
glad to see eriette doing something for a change. That aura shards was fked.
could send me the link to the myrkul deck ?

Where is the myrkul deck list lol its sadly empty 😢
Poor Mat 😭

Kind of cringe that spirit loop is being played like that when it blatantly states creature you control
Why Arca played spirit loop on other players creature ?
Why isn’t arca gaining life each end step?
Eriette is like a kill on site deck. Also this guy is misplaying Spirit Loop
Knew the Dihada player was going to win when you were ignored for 3/4s of the game
@6:23 Mat is drawing WAY too many cards. He has all of one creature die.
How does the druid generate infinite mana? Am I missing some interaction?
It is an enchantment now with no P/T, so it can infinitely put-1/-1 counters in itself to generate infinite mana by untapping itself
The Devoted Druid token is a noncreature enchantment. Therefore, no matter how many -1/-1 counters it gets, it won't die, so you can untap it to your heart's content.

I wanted to see what my opponents were up to before giving them information about my deck and graveyard.
Dude how crazy is it that I just finished fighting myrkul in baldurs gate 3 and he ends up being in this episode lol
So crazy
Yet again disappointing to see the decklist not match up to the decks being played. Specifically dihada.
So, about selling the soul to demons to win the game... I guess someone was scammed. 🙃
Letsgo!

John's deck had 3 tutors shown in this game and an infinite combo, way too pubstompy IMO
If it was a pubstomp, he would have pub stomped. He also even had an infinite, which he was able to do nothing with?
