Discovered your channel a few weeks ago (the 63 kg motor tear down and melt). Been bingeing on your vids ever since. This is quality content my friend! Thanks for all the work you put into it - from sourcing the metals to the excellent video editing and everything in between! And your humor (humour?) shines through. Love it, love it, love it!!! Cheers from the states. RJ
MY COINS IN THE STACK -YAH!!!!! Great video mate. That truly is a gorgeous colour. Loved it. But seeing my coin land on the official BigD shelves has made my day, even though it does look tiny next your amazing hoard. Take care bud :)
How on gods green fuckin earth is 6 odd in the evening turned into 3am... Where are you guys?, cos it's just shy of quarter to nine evening here right now ... Time Zones ay, how the bloody hell are ya? 😝
I love this channel because he makes bullion out of something other than silver and gold don't get me wrong I love silver and gold but I just find it really interesting and smart that he makes bullion out of other metal and that Nordic gold looked so beautiful great video
I gotta say, the asmr part is great. My therapist told me a while back that it would be good for my PTSD. I searched UA-cam and here I am. Thanks for this.
I Love this nordic gold, don't know how many times I watched your first video for this now. Great work and awesome Video. 😊👍 Cheers and a nice Weekend. 🍻
My Favorite metal has always been brass, and of course Nordic Gold!! Why... it looks like the closest thing I'd ever have to gold! Great Job!!! Have a GREAT Day, My Friend!!!!
scrapped an small old ac unit yesterday got about 1.5kg copper to melt!! cant wait for all this tropical storm weather to pass to fire up the forge! Great vid dude!
Cheers bro . Yeah I came to work tonight in the hope of checking an old hot water heater that was in the scrap bin ide been eyeing all week and the scrapyard came and emptied the bloody bin 🤦🏻♂️🤬. Oh well 🤷🏻♂️
@@bigstackD A co-worker threw out a hot water heater from one of the old buildings 2 days ago. I was stuck working on a boat plus I didn't have a tools or a truck to take it home apparently I missed out as well bummer.
Yeah about back when I only had 10k subs. If you like the blue green flame this Friday’s vid you’ll like as I melt down 2 Crucibles full of dug up metals of which I have no idea what the hell they were , definitely copper brass and aluminium but probably other stuff aswell 🤷🏻♂️. 2 different colour ingots produced do very curious to know what they turnnout like 🤔😁
@@bigstackD Awesome! I never miss a video and it's always satisfying to see the results. I've got a few coffee containers full of different metals for when I get a better furnace.
Looks good, I hate the way zinc oxidizes like it does. Just makes a mess and it’s not good to breathe it. I like the way Nordic gold looks! Good video!
Very nice! Smoothly poured, weighed, measured, accounted for... Full-on "pro-status" my brother. Not only a tip of the hat, but a standing ovation as well. Also, loving the stack and how much it has grown, but you will need to make more room soon... Seriously. It may be time to take some bits and bars here and there and make some things out of them... Or you could always remelt 2 or 3 bars and pour into one bigger one, to consolidate and make you some room to keep going another year. You could also cast up metals and machine the parts, and make little Ingie a guard house made of bling inside the vault room. . . have little copper tiles and aluminum tiles all nice and laid out, screwed to a framework for the roofing. Idunno... I got a BUNCH of crazy ideas. 😄. Anyways, keep up the great work, and the smooth pouring.
Cheers Jase I appreciate that buddy . Don’t worry bout the shelves as i purposely havnt shown the empty shelves above 🤫. I have enough shelves to go another few years bro👌🏻
Very nice looking stuff there. One of these days I'm gonna try my hand at making a batch of it. Just gotta get some tin. Awesome shine, on them bars too. Keep up the good work.
I’m really glad you provide a breakdown of what goes into this. I remember one of your earlier videos when you made this. It just goes to show there’s a lot that goes into making everything you make. You always do such amazing work and your passion with what you do shows! 😄😄
Hey big stack, hey ingot. Love your videos. Looks like you're going to need more shelving soon. Ingot keep up the good protection of all those melts. Until next week....
Relatively new subscriber, USA, male , Caucasian, 44, love all I have seen! Luv to me Aussies! Love footy! Thinking about immigrating and retiring down under..
I really like the color of this mixture. It almost looks like real gold. It shines up beautifully! The new rectangular shaped molds are neat. Would that be considered a bar instead of a coin? Then at the same time, they're kinda short to be called a bar, unless it's a chocolate bar. Either way, I like it and I love watching you do your thing D. Keep up the wonderful work my friend.
I always referred to this as Alumi-bronze. France actually had some coins minted with it. Italy came up with "bronzitol" for their coins, which had a bit of nickel added without the tin and zinc.

Amazing mold and expecially Awsome ingots, the Nordic Gold shine so much in your hands!!! Geoff Stark coins in your stack is so cute!!!
Those sure look like real gold by the end. An acid test or density would tell the real story.

Any idea what the Malleability of that is? Say it were cast nto a cuff-style bracelt. Wonder if it flexes to put on and off like Silver...

The Part form the removing of the slag is like ASMR (I hope the grammer is right i'm from germany)
Cool buddy I’m glad you liked it, I’ll be sure to add a bit more of the skimming of the molten metal for you👍🏻
Came from the giveaway video to say this video was my first time seeing you and have loved watching you since.
Next time you do this cover the top with borax once the whole thing starts going molten
John Nichols Like some sort of flux for the melting metals
I think it has to do with oxidation because it keeps the metal from coming into contact with air.
Always so satisfying to watch
With such a small amount, what purpose does the tin serve? Would it really be noticeable if you split the weight between the zinc and aluminum?
That was cool....Beers get in the way of the zinc????
So why did that happen to the zinc when it was over heated?
It boiled producing a yellow dross and a very sickening fume.
So, to oversimplify it:
Bronze = Copper + Tin
Brass = Copper + Zinc
Aluminium Bronze = Copper + Aluminium
Nordic Gold = Copper + Tin + Zinc + Aluminium
Correct?
Exactly 👌🏻😉
I wonder what a saxophone made of Nordic Gold would sound like.....
What does slag consist of? In this case is it just dirt? The color of these bars is amazing.
Yeah it’s basically just dirt and small impurity’s but normally I could remelt it for a further 20%ish extra recovery 😁👍🏻
Love the colour. Great job mucka.
Can pass as gold when poured recently but after that not so much, shining it up just clarifies it's not gold. Great video. Love the channel.

Special order egg whites and sausage
ENJOY!!!!👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Love the colour of the Nordic Gold
What do you do with the slang you skim off hmthe top. And when you melt metals does all the impurities float to the surface?
Sweet! That's alot of work getting those bars that shiny. Right on
Nice color.
Lots of dross. Is that from the aluminum or the because the zinc was overdone?
Justin Freeman yes
I always referred to this as Alumi-bronze. France actually had some coins minted with it. Italy came up with "bronzitol" for their coins, which had a bit of nickel added without the tin and zinc.
Can Nordic gold be forged? Annealed, stretched, fold formed, welded or soldered. Interesting material.
What slows the tin do for the alloy? I feel like such a small mass won’t affect color that much.
Is this alloy like brass or similar?
Copper and zinc give .......?????
@@styx7989 is the Time necessary?
Yes but it is considered a form of bronze due to the tin and aluminium
is the solids taken off the cast before pouring impurities?
Marvelous work, I'm mesmerized. Do you know how's made yellow silver? Could you please share it to us? Thank you very much.
Is the green flames caused by the copper, or zinc?
Just wondering
Zinc
I think this is the coolest. I would love to see what they look like up close.
