One thing about El Salvador - they were the #1 murder country in the world per capita. This prison significantly improved the murder rate. They had to do something.
It’s risky though, if u know real Salvadorians who live there they will say it’s safer but are scared for the future. Salvador only became messed up because the U.S. they didn’t want the dollar, U.S sent Ms13 back home

My friend from el Salvador said the country is very safe now they can pretty much go outside at night without being scared. But also said that at the same time there's been stories of innocent people being wrongfully convicted of gang crimes. But you can expect cases like that unfortunately

Draconian for sure but sometimes draconian measures are necessary to restore law and order.

Lol my boss was telling me how his mom just got back from out there with the biggest smile on her of how great is it in her home town as well🤣🤣 I guess this was the best thing they could have done

I've been on two surf trips to El Salvador in the last 6 months. I can tell you firsthand I've made so many great friends with the locals there. I enjoy supporting most of the small family businesses and the fact that they can finally live free and make their own money and keep it without being extorted by gangs and violence is a beautiful thing to witness. I support the new president plus he supports surfing. I suggest you go on a trip there and check it out you'll love it
They've locked up over 70,000. The guards can view them from above as well and they have all gang members together, intergang. Ecuador is building a new prison, from the same designers, as this one. I can see this becoming the new "Gangland Standard" internationally, throughout the globe.
I hope so. Murderous gangs became way too comfortable, while hard workers had to fear living in their town. There is no excuse joining a gang if you have a strong mind

Easy for you to say, but when your in a town that is gang dominated with your mom out there in the streets snorting cocaine or chasing penis, what else are you gonna do?
They aint never getting out. You don't build a prison like that to eventually release them. Legalized death sentence at bare minimum cost.

I lived in a neighborhood with mostly people from el Salvador..My next door neighbor and all his kids were from there. Probably the most respectful neighbors I've ever had.
Older kids had dances out back. Boys and girls all dressed up standing in straight lines apart from each other taking turns dancing..
They were grateful to be out of the country for sure.

@@lockdown23and1 The U.S.A. has far larger empty prisons. The largest, last I knew, were in Alaska, and Colorado. There are enough empty FEMA camps to hold approx. 150,000,000. They will most likely be used after Trump becomes dictator... I'm guessing 6 years from now, or less.

Could you imagine an East Coast prison with 50k inmates from multiple states & hoods all in general pop with each other? Or for Cali? Just make 3 massive ones at 50k each
West Virginia regional jails are a little overcrowded, but we don't have enough people incarcerated for a mega prison, hell we only have 1.8M residents in the state. The largest cities have WELL under 100,000 people. That's why we have regional jails and no county jails.
they dont need sporks or forks. They get tortillas and even civilians do the thing where they scoop up stuff with the tortilla. Its complitely normal.

It sounds great until you piss off wrong person and you or your family gets to go and are never seen again. I bet large majority of these inmates are political rivals. Zero democracy but seems that the right already hates the constitution
What we need in America are prisons with a real element of choice, like burger king. "Have it your way." As long as your way isn't disrupting someone else having it their way.
The point of prison is to prevent criminals from further victimizing law abiding citizens, not to torture criminals or give them free reign to torture each other.

In the secot prison there is no meat for the inmates and if something happens outside they take more food from the inmates.

Well, the murder rate speaks volumes. What they are doing in El Salvador is working.

Hopefully, after all is said and done El Salvador will be known only for their beautiful scenery, weather, architecture, food, music, hospitality, handmade items etc.
Nothing will be perfect BUT it's important that the ones who continue to be hard headed will hopefully think twice.
Most of them have admitted that nothing will change their ways. Yes, I know it's all f***** up when one joins a notorious gang for a variety of reasons.
It's hardwired....many from birth are born into the gang.
It's extremely difficult to untangle those hardwires.
Anyways, it's a huge undertaking that has to have years of solid steps/ plans to support his vision.

I seen a prison overseas where a murderer qctually left the jail every day and drove a car to a college where he taught people. Then drove back to the prison or jail . And lovked in . No fence or outdoor guards at all. I was blown awayb

The problem with the mega prison concept, is if 40,000 inmates get control of the prison, it’s going to be an apocalyptic bloodbath. Also, these guys have nothing else to do but plot and plan.

The inmates are not at all running the asylum there as they are in the U¢A. They, in a much lesser Country than the U¢A, DEFINITELY have control of their prison system.

@lockdown23and1 haha yes bro we were stuffed like tuna because there were to many inmates in the jail that they were currently using. So they transfered us there as a temporary jail while building the new one. Bro it was wild because when there was tension everybody felt it. Saw so many people drop like flies from fenny. Drugs were easily brought in. They got rid of the trailers as soon as the new one was built. You slept in a coffin pretty much.
i had a nightmare that i was going through the intake process at a place very similar to that, lets just say i was happy when i woke up and realized i was home and not there. this happened a few months after i was released from federal custody.

Hey man, look into the prison being built in Westville indiana, it is unreal huge, won't be done for 5 years. If you look into Westville prison A.K.A "the jungle" you might have heard the song about it and find it interesting, I on the other hand don't find it interesting. It was a open dorm hell hole. True gladiator prison.

Prisons are only truly rehabilitation centers in countries like Norway and Sweden. Everywhere else, they are concrete pits where people are punished, even though most prisons in the US have "Rehabilitation Center" written on the outside. While there are certainly people that deserve to be punished for their crimes, this should not be a blanket policy. There are many people imprisoned here in the USA that could be rehabilitated but it will never happen as long as for-profit facilities exist. Countries like El Salvador should have been locked down into martial law a long time ago due to their various criminal crises. Throwing them all into an inhumane pit is going to turn criminals into monsters. We can't expect people to be treated like animals to be anything except that. It is not justice.
