I suppose you played games at 1080i resolution if it is possible on Xbox Series X. it doesnt look bad because of this. 720p tv's has 1080i resolution option.

If you have an 1080p monitor or tv the best price quality its the series S for sure, but if you're looking to upgrade to a 4k monitor or tv in the near future go with the series X.
