    Breathtaking knot acumen, this video reminded me of the lead singer of Mister Twister, restringing his guitar.

      The big message really is just don't mess around with the crimps; they don't make sense when the stuff actually ties very well.

    Pete! Great video! I made a new drinkin game last time you were on the Musky 360 podcast!
    The game is: Take a drink every time Pete says "to a certain extent"
    Nobody wanted to do it with me, so i did it on my own. Never blacked out so fast in my life! Thanks to you i now have quit my drinking habit!
    Great info you give out always Pete! 😎👊🏻👍🏻

    Greeting from KY. I use Fluorocarbon on my sucker rigs. My main question is when using a sucker rig on a opossum where do you put cork to help with floatation? In its mouth or butt? I’m afraid if I put it in his mouth it won’t be able to breathe under water . Thanks in advance

    Hey Pete. This will be my first year targeting Muskies, any tips you would give a beginner? What are some lures that seem to work just about everywhere? The rod I got is rated for 2-6 ounce lures. Any information will be greatly appreciated 😁

    • @petemaina7073
      @petemaina7073 2 роки тому +3

      Biggest tip I would offer is build knowledge and enjoy. Technically nothing is the magic work everywhere bait. The absolute most versatile for all seasons are a cross between crank and jerk baits, that can troll or cast... Livingston Headhunter good example. But really need all food groups: spinners, topwater, soft plastics, cranks and jerks ... add as can to pattern what fish are in the mood for.

    Pete...thanks ..will these knots work for lighter phlorocarbon as well...down to 14 lb.?

    • @petemaina7073
      @petemaina7073 2 роки тому +1

      Yes, they would, and certainly the uni; however, as you drop to lighter lb test you should add more wraps. If down around the 14 level would be doing 6 wraps instead of 3.

    I use that first knot almost exclusively but I just pinch the eye of the hook, wrap the tag end around my index finger while it is pinching the line and eye of the hook and then push the three wraps off my index finger nail and pass the tag end through the loop that I created with the three wraps. THEN lick the line so that the friction of pulling it tight doesn't burn the line. I fail to see the reasoning for licking the line AFTEr you pull it down?? At that point the damage (however minor) has already been done. You are shutting the barn door after the horse has run away.,
