There is music and then there is Stevie Wonder. For a blind man his lyrics are the most beautiful of any artist and the music is so creative.

@chubbychuckle I believe that’s precisely why! His “disability” helped create something special!

Us older folks have always claimed Stevie. It’s so good that young folks know a gem when they hear it. It’s another world to groove to. Enjoy this ear candy.

Summer Soft is a clear sequel to Golden Lady, with a similarly dazzling array of ecstatic harmonic and key changes, organ swirls, and a dizzying latin-style rhythm section. It's yet another break-up song that uses the different seasons to reflect life's cruelly changing fortunes, but his take on this well-trod lyrical formula is as fresh as ever, with an electrifying climactic coda that takes us through just about the entire spectrum of modulations this song can possibly go through.

You’re learning, Please UnderstandThis Man is A Genius Of Insurmountable Proportions, I was in Sheer Awe when I heard him back in 66 or so and I was 7 years old then

The music in this song says Stevie. It’s perfect if I’m allowed to say that. Each season of his music smells of different flavors if you understand me. He takes you there with his words. I could think of my sister, my mom, my brother, and daddy. All of them different seasons. Music from Stevie is definitely a gift from God. Much respect Stevie.🥴♥️

This whole album (along with Earth Wind & Fire's "Spirit") always reminds me of going downtown with my brother and the old man to see the Pistons at Cobo during the 1976-77 season.

Listening to Stevie Wonder's songs is such a breath of fresh air. Reminds me how songwriting used to sound...very beautiful, complex yet accessible, with great hooks and good chord choices. Love the modulation on this song. The lyrics are beautiful, but that's Stevie!

You're right. Listening to these lyrics again, a duet with Minnie Riperton would've definitely been perfection.

There aren't enough words to describe how Wonder-full these two albums are. A triumph of the creative spirit of Stevland Hardaway Morris, aka, Stevie Wonder.

Funny I wouldn’t mind hearin like Alicia, Bruno or even India Arie......wait, I think I just made up a killin collab. I don’t usually imagine more recent artists doin Stevie or other legend. But wow Stevie is amazing! When you hear it Goin up like that, it’s called ‘modulation’ , when you take it up to the next key. It’s a popular thing to do in some gospel choruses these days, but this is incredible Stevie. It triggers so much memories from black in the day....wow!!
