I thought the same, until I noticed they work soooo hard to do the combos to beat him, and then he does one combo and takes half their hp lmao, it's a good showcase of his raw damage output in direct comparisons.
His gameplay looks soooo good although I am a little disappointed he doesn't have his shadow haha. 9/10 on the design 10/10 on the feel great add to the roster!
Honestly after seeing this, my wishlist is cleared now. When DFO first came here, my favorite classes were the female Grappler (male grappler is more judo throws while female was doing german suplexes and hurricanranas. I like her a lot more... though there was no male fighter back in the day either) and the Monk. And aside from his weak feeling super, this is pretty much exactly as he should be.
both crusader and monk is derivatives of the same base priest character as different job paths or alternate futures for him so if the base priest is some jacked guy then all of them are because theyre essentially the same person his remaining 2 subclass is Exorcist (read; onmyouji) who learnt the traditional arts of suju (the asian-esque hometown of grappler and brawler) to be able to use talismans, shikigamis and channel the powers of the 4 cardinal gods and lastly Avenger who is cursed by Ozma of Chaos and forcibly transformed into an imposter (a type of demon that wears the skin of man, dfo/dnf used this term long before among us was even created) but because of his strong faith he kept his humanity so now wields the powers of a demon against the very being that gifted it to him

The Monk job class in RPG games dealt a lot of damage, but are very bad against magical/special attacks, so Monk in DNF gonna have high damage, but poor defense.

I don't doubt that after this season they plan to "RISING" to DNF Duel. This game has the potential to become a good current fighting game but it needs to be reformulated in several details for it to work. A relaunch or super update could solve it. Not having crossplay is also very bad.
I’m sad he doesn’t have shadow clones, hurricane and roll, or a counter. Also, there seems to be no tech to do Chopping Hammer after ducking nor ducking attacks after swaying. Ground sidewinder not available too. I guess we can’t have everything. Looks good though

This is the main issue. Their marketing is trash and there is a lot of people that didn't know the game existed. The worst is, they won't improve it since they are probably want to reduce the work cost.

Other than that EX power wave thatnis a DP reversal that works as an anti air and ground bounces for conversion, he doesn't look like he has good neutral buttons. Also that sway isn't the good move they think it is. It just means everyone has a free hit from their full screen normals they can react to when they see the sway. He does big manly damage though, but that's not much of a plus in this game. Ah well, hopefully people developntech for him in the future
Did we watch the same video? He has air sidewinder for neutral, a good 2a and a standing overhead for mix. Duck N Sway is projectile invul and is not something you react to it's something you read seeing that those are cancelable into numerous things. When it comes to full screen normals only vanguard and Swift Master comes to mind so even then that's a stretch.
@xs3fan Bro tried making a point with less then half of the facts at play and that's wild. Monks Nuetral looks Terrifyingly good, like multiple ways to skip the thing entierly good! And having a standing meter less overhead means his Mix is going to be genuinely insane to, couple that with his big boy damage and he's gonna be scary at high level play if you aren't constantly watching em!

Man still looks to have stumpy normals but big a stick ready to do damage.

And Sway most likely/More then Likely has More then just Projectile Invul on it's active frames so most of what you just put end up being skill checks if anything? And standing overheads are one thing. But a standing overhead on a METERLESS LIGHT ATTACK that's easily comboable from for big damage is another thing entierly. It basically makes it so you have to pray you don't accidentally crouch block his starting pressure/block pressure at all or you get exploded, his sweep is pretty fast to AND you can OTG off that so that's even MORE scary.
@@janematthews9087 this is how I know you don't play this game like that, Berserker and sader do not have full screen normals. That covers 60 to 75% of the screen. As a sader player you need to stop exaggerating. They have skills that can reach that sure, normals that they can confirm off of no. Jumping is really not bad in this game especially since most characters needs to do something that involves being in the air, brawler striker, ranger, Swift Master, hit man etc etc. I probably have played far more anime " kusoge" games then you because if you think guilty gear is a game that's fast paced then idk what to tell you. GG is so slow compared to Skullgirls, melty, uni etc. Also 3rd strike has scary overheads makoto overhead is scary? You are joking right?

@@AlexanderMartinez-kd7czYes, the familiarity is clear. I noticed a few cases where moves were just being tossed out, possibly intending to do other stuff, and the amount of spacing whiffs were evident. Particularly the "Captain Corridor" fist smash that missed a lot more often than it landed.
He looks really cool but it feels like most of his moves don't have the impact they should have because of how low the volume is on his attack sound effects
