Im surprised you didnt like MWII. It was actually pretty solid and had good map flow. Rarely ever did the spawns flip and it looked like you were enjoying yourself melting before you suddenly quit.
He's finding a new audience with the GT content. I have zero interest in cod and I found him because of GT.
The RAM was so rapid because it has a 100 grip modifier, which is the same as alot of other grippy cars like the Oreca Viper for example. its also has a glitch to give 200 points each time. honestly a sleeper in gt4
It's not a glitch that makes it give 200 points, it's the insane weight. It just happens to have enough power to make that weight trivial.
It can carry you hella far, even beating the Hard Wet Tsukuba race with a little application of its name. Only race which I couldn't beat that doesn't feature pure race cars was the Supercar Cup but someone else could
the Chevelle has a vinyl roof. also iirc the HPA golf is classified as an US car in the game
I was going to say this. Here in Brazil, we had a car called Opala, that also had this as a option. I also encounter one who the owner just spray painted the top to look like one
3:17 hilarious start to the challenge, first car is a Ford Ka which wasn't even sold in the US market 😂
I did state in the intro rules section, if the game classes it as American, we’re running with it.
And the second car was essentially a Toyota altezza.
Technically is within the rules but there were cars much more suited to the theme of the challenge. I saw a Taurus SHO in the used car market. V8 FF would have been funny.
The IS200 (J) picked for the challenge is a fictional automobile created by Gran Turismo 4 while converting cars between regions. Altezza RS200, the 4-pot BEAMS one was only ever sold as Toyota in Japan.

Also bit of an interesting trivia is the Eagle Talon was made in collaboration with Mitsubishi, hence why the first two generations of the Eclipse shared parts with the Talon. The Pontiac Laser was built with Mitsubishi’s guidance as well.
I presume you mean the _Plymouth_ Laser. Chrysler collaborated with Mitsubishi, whereas GM collaborated with Suzuki and Toyota (as well as Isuzu if I'm not mistaken).

i'll admit I've only found your channel because of these GT Challenges as part of a well time rabbit hole i fell into whilst finding DustinEden. so I'm hoping there will be plenty more of these to come, perhaps just seeing what the French or Italian brands may be able to offer up?

My main car when I was younger was the Buick special and I actually did try to use the Buick special in the championship (I came in 2nd after a lot of tries)

28:23 In this game you need to take off the assists for all the cars right away, they literally kill traction and cornering. This is why you struggled a lot on acceleration with the Ka; since it's front wheel drive, the problem was even more noticeable. Only assist you can use is just 1 click of tcs if you have difficulties to tame really powerful cars, like prototypes.

Late comment here, but I went ahead and gave this a watch, all the way through. Having never played a racing game more advanced than Mario Kart, I'm really impressed with the feature set and depth from the age of the game. It goes to show how much you can do when you have a passionate team making this stuff.
I absolutely LOVE the small funny edits you did. The Mordor one cracked me up - I didn't catch it at first, but watching it back made me laugh harder than I have in a while.

Answer is no, the Boxer Challenge kills this run as only Subaru and RUF qualify. It and the Sport Truck race kill every other challenge as only New Dealership Ford, Dodge, Chevy, or Toyota can compete.
I will add the Ram is genuinely quick when upgraded and always gives 200 points. Beat the Audi Lemans at the wet Tsukuba course.
The fact a tuned RX-7 and a Superbird had such a close battle is what makes GT4 so magical
Subarus, Rufs, and the Toyota Sports 800 qualify for Boxer Spirit.
@@reillywalker195Really? So with the MR-2, Tacoma, and the Celica Rally you could do a Toyota Only run.... if you could be the Yellow Bird with a 50 hp turdbox.
@@demomanchaosYou'd still need a car under 3400 millimetres in length, though, which no Toyota-badged car in GT4 is. That said, Toyota owns Daihatsu, so you could count Daihatsus as Toyotas to make the challenge possible.
@@reillywalker195 Checked that the other day, and they are just shy of that mark. That and the Sport 800 is hopelessly outclassed in the Boxer race that it might as well not even exist. Just like that old VW it technically qualifies, but is so very short of being able to keep pace.
@@demomanchaosOne UA-camr managed to win with the Toyota Sports 800 if I remember correctly, but only with the car being fully upgraded, the most important upgrade being nitrous.

A big problem with american cars on racing games is that classic muscle cars had many different final drive options affecting gesr ratios. Games always seem to go for the shortest gearing options which in real life would have been for 1/4 mile drag racing, most would be sold with longer gears. Like the chevelle for example, in games always has the 4.10s and tops out at 132mph, there were many other options in gearing that would allow for 150+mph

Had to double check, but I had no idea that the C1 Corvettes had a two speed transmission.
This GT4 content is incredible and great driving as usual. Usually change is scary , I love this game
Also the Camaro LM car is one of the best money making exploit’s I’ve foundin the game. 3 short races for a $212,000 car.

The Nike ONE qualifying as a kei car is actually hilarious
pity you can't really do anything with it in Gran Turismo Mode
So I dont blame you for not knowing this, but:
1: ALL configurations of the Chevrolet Corvair had a flat 6. Also rear engined. What you showed in game was a Chevrolet Corvette. First 2 years had a straight 6.
2: Would have helped you immensely with the Superbird in particular to shift up well before the redline. A lot of cars in GT4 are like this, where peak power is well before the engine runs all the way through its RPM range.

In reference to 1: correct what I showed was the C1 corvette, however I was trying to relay that the Corvair concept was very similar to the Corvette C1, I read that it’s what inspired the C1 etc.
Did a fair bit of research into boxer engines and Flat engines when making this video, looks like I still don’t quite grasp. So what I’m taking away from this all is, all boxer engines are flat engines, but not all flat engines are boxer engines.
Muscle car comments are absolutely correct, I assumed real life logic didn’t apply here as 9/10 times you can just redline cars in older GT games for optimal performance.

I have an idea for a challenge you might like. It's kinda like a nuzlocke but not really. Basically, you're only allowed to use a certain car once, then it needs to be sold. It might not be possible, but it would require a lot of strategy and using a worse car to preserve better ones. What do you think?
With that color the Ka should be called MilKa 😂
the Eagle Talon and the Mitsubishi eclipse from that generation both had their motors made in Detroit. Bootleg or not, even the Eclipse from that generation is really American.

In the mr you could go to the Cadillac Cien in the special condition events too
the "Wot?....Wot?...Wot?" at 11:10 made me laugh way more than it should.... But in any event, GT4 based car prices on roughly how much that car costs in its home territory buuuuuuttt....I think they used dealership pricing. So a UK Ford Focus in a sporty trim was 40k USD back in 2003, due to dealership taxes and currency conversion etc. Meanwhile you could get a Mustang GT with the 4.6 modular for around 20-25 grand back then.

Bud you don't have to drink coffee. My friend I'm from Texas and sometimes drink tea with creamer. Also im glad you mebtioned the technicalities because the Toyota Tundra is made with a Triton V8 which is a Ford engine the kicker my dad had a 1994 ford f-150 xl 5 speed manual with a toyota transmission. Also what you learn with American cars weight transfer is key.
That always bothered me about Gran Turismo 3, the garage background had an image of a Dodge Breeze/Intrepid, wasn't in the game at all

59:32 - did older consoles have input lag? I mean, controllers were hard-wired so there’s no Bluetooth/wireless lag, and most people were still using CRT screens which famously have fantastic refresh rates and motion clarity. Maybe I missed something though!

My guy, at the beginning of Gt4 you don't buy new cars from the showroom! Used lots are the bread and butter of the early game, you can find great value on you first 10 purchases by buying older models.
Nah I disagree, used lots are only required if you don't have licence cars to sell. I golded everything so we don't even need to look in the used section.
Question how does rebranded companies that's owned by a different company work? Because if Acura, Lexus, and infiniti count as American cars you can just use a Acura Nsx and that doesn't seem that "American" too me because it's a Japanese car rebranded by a company that exists in America
Toyota Altezza & the Lexus version are very different cars. Already explained the rules in the intro too...

I thought you just meant it like normal American companies making the cars but was never sold in American markets like the Ford Ka. Is there a reason you change the oil on new cars? I thought this was only helpful on cars that have been driven for a while or used cars, since the oil in them is old
GT4 basically has 3 grades of oil: clean, standard, and dirty. All new cars come with standard oil, and all used cars come with dirty oil.
Clean oil gives +5% power, standard oil is neutral, and dirty oil gives -5% power, so it's still worth changing oil in a new car in GT4. It's (at least) 5% extra power for 50 credits, always worth it imo.
Clean oil stays fresh for 200km / ~124mi, then degrades into standard oil after 300km / ~186mi, then standard oil takes about 5600km / ~3480mi (?) to degrade to dirty oil (and that's when the change oil light turns on). All distances are measured since the last oil change.
Now the question is:
Can you beat Gran Turismo 4 with only German cars? - Granted, the kei car and sports truck events are out of the question, but how far can you get with only German road cars?
Alternatively: Can you beat the game with only cars from continental Europe?
