Yup. Most days I shake all my hardwood & cedar trees for 5 wasps, 1500 bells (15 drops of 100 bells each), and 2 furniture drops. Fruit trees (including coconut trees) and bamboo trees don’t have any of these though so don’t need to shake them. Also, I could be wrong but decorated cedar trees will only drop ornaments - not wasps, furniture, bells, etc. (I’m just speaking from my own experience so it’s possible this isn’t 100% accurate but it has been true for me)
My key to making a lot of bells: the Shell Arch. Always collect all the shells you find on the beach, easy to do. Then, when the Shell Arch comes up as one of the hot items at Nook's Cranny, cash in! You will need the Shell Arch recipe, of course. They take 3 of each kind of shell (except conches) to make, so they are worth a fair it, so by the time it comes around as the hot item, you can make a lot of bells with what you have collected.
To add to this is the donation box. It’s a pain in the @ss but if you put 99000 in the donation box and it’s a hot item they will double what’s in there. I managed to get 2 million bells with it. I just do one a day until it comes back around
I remember watching another UA-camr say that she didn't even bother to wait for the arch to become a "hot item", she just waited until she had enough shells to create multiple arches in 1 sitting before selling them cuz they're worth that much. If you have the "bell boom" ordinance (or whatever it is called), then they are worth that much more.
I actually really like the beautiful town ordinance because I use the transparent design trick to keep my flowers from spreading. Every time I plant a flower, I just stand on it and place designs until it won’t let me anymore, ensuring that all spaces around it are filled. This is especially great because you get the benefits of no trash, less weed spread, and increased help breeding the flowers you DO want to spread.
This is actually quite smart I have the Beautiful Ordinance and my flowers sure did go wild xD It helped with getting the Blue Rose, but I did not foresee my whole island covered in them I did slap a border of random designs on the ground to stop their spread, but considered just getting rid of the ordinance at some point. With what you say though, maybe I don't have to? Because it still has those benefits of no trash, cockroaches & less weeds. Might be worth keeping it afterall
i know this is an unpopular opinion but i love having my flowers spread everywhere so i have the beautiful island ordinance to have more flowers and less weeds and now my whole island is covered in flowers and i love it
@@theconsp1racytheorist I just edit one of the default patterns and fill the whole thing with the color at the end of the palette. That one will always be transparent. Its icon is striped.

Resetting villager homes are also good for starting villagers that you've had since the very beginning, for example, until the update with that feature came out, my villager, Fuchsia, who lives in my island to this very day was stuck with the house interior that starters are given, this feature makes it so you can see their actual interior they're supposed to have
Newbie tip: use the flimsy ax to harvest wood from the trees without chopping the tree down. The wood will renew the next day so you can do it all over again.
I actually go around every day just hitting every tree once or twice to get wood, with the regular axe. It only chops them down if you hit it 3 times in a row =)
Something I really wish I knew before starting the game was that the resident services building can't be moved like the villager homes can, my plaza is so close to my airport which means I can't have one of those pretty entrances, it's kind of just... step step step, plaza. It's about nine steps right in front of my airport 😂😅 But I'm too dedicated to my island to start it all over just to move it

I like to collect the wasps and sell them to the dragon bug collector. Only the wasps bring me about 160.000 Bells at least. (wasps sell for 2000 at the store and you can get up to five on your island. the dragon comes about every two weeks or so and pays about 3000 bells. Its a really good deal)

You don't need to press A throughout the crafting/customizing/cooking process to keep it sped up; just press it twice while it's going on. Oh, yes, I always prioritize getting wood from my palm trees, since they're always distinguishable from non-fruit trees. (Unlike fruit trees, which only have the fruit to distinguish them... so not most of the time.) And you can sell sea creatures "now" (as long as the shop isn't closed for renovations) without feeling like you'll miss out on selling them to someone who'll pay more. (I restarted for the second time, and haven't seen C.J. or Flick yet.) For the first time, I'm confining the flowers on the low tier to little gardens. I'll probably replace the fencing with paths once that's an option. One of my own little tips is that the traversal tools -- the ladder and the vaulting pole -- don't break. That's not to say you'll never want to make more than one ladder, as you might 1) want to craft a ladder set-up kit for something more permanent for a particular place, or 2) accidentally sell your ladder, but outside of accidentally selling your vaulting pole, you won't want to make more than one of those. (I guess if you want to make someone else one so they have it a little early... but they'll be able to make them so soon, there's hardly any point.)
