Yeah never, ever over tighten oil filters. Always hand tighten 3/4 of a turn once the filter touches the engine. An old timer taught me that trick 50 years ago.
I removed oil filter with 3 inch pipe wrench with 45 degrees head. First I wrapped some thick high density foam tape around the filter so the wrench would sink into it and not slip, and then positioned the wrench vertically, grabbed the bottom part of the filter and turned to the left. I was surprised how easily it released.

Smart move, though on this truck I don’t thing there would of been enough clearance, thanks for the tip !
