I've just taken delivery of a 40d this morning. After my XC60, the X5 handles like a hot hatch in comparison. I've done 250km so far and I'm averaging 7.8l/100km, so I'm very happy with that

I personally think it is quite good looking, there is form following function feel about it. And I also love the interior, it is a touch of class.
I got to drive the BMW X5M recently, and I thought it is a superb all rounder.

It is absolutely possible to achieve the 6L /100km if you are a very calm driver and use a lot the cruise control.

Thanks for the review - you make some good points. You asked for comments about the styling... I think the rear of the X5 is more attractive than the front. Somehow the front end styling is not as refined IMO - having said that, it is still among the most desirable vehicles esthetically. I watched your review because we are thinking of buying a two or three year old BMW X5, possibly X3. I often wish reviewers would do a piece that compares two or three SUVs in the same video. Discussing all the important features. Watching individual videos still leaves questions in my mind because different features get highlighted in each.

The new pre-facelift X3 is as big, as the old X5. Interior quality in the X3 is not as good, especially below elbow level. And obviously there's less tech, because the car was released a couple of years ago. Otherwise the X3 a sensible choice. The X5 is ostentatious (and I love it ;) ).

Dude some one has really paid a lot to hate BMW's. Just be honest that you love the car man. You're trying so hard to lie that you hate it. Well any ways I have an X5 and its just an awesome ride dude. I won't comment on other brands since I don't care or have. But BMW's are built to last long. Its an ultimate driving machine. But then you have cheap petrol. In Poland it costs about $125 to fill up an X5. In Germany about $140. How much would it cost to fill an 85 liter (22 gallon) tank in the US? $75?

Marek Drives You are right. But I don't know, buy a 2L x5 it's a strange decision. it's a SAV car, and you need a bigger engine I think, in a BMW you must to feel the power. You don't buy a X5 to save some money for the fuel

Depends on what engine ur getting. All versions come standard with the front and rear cameras, the panoramic sunroof is an option and parking assistant only comes with the 40d and above

That falling out the car...so dumb so staged. People don't get SUV's because they cant get in our out of a car. They would buy a normal car in the first place. This is not a consideration at all. If it was such an issue you probably would either need to grow up a bit or just don't look at SUV's at all.

Thank you for advise! Yes it has those timing gear problems but if id rather take the30d would it be a safer bet i know that its a bigger engine= more expensive to fix, buy and suistan etc

@@retkeilijamies9377 You can look for the 2.0l diesel with 232 hp, it has the b47 engine. But i think the safest engines are the inline 3 litre inline engines...
