You would almost have to make a "T" shaped rail. My table saw miter slot is narrower at the top than the bottom. So I can't lift my sled out, I have to slide it out. Another option, which I did on an old table saw, I made the rails as narrow as the tabs. There was a little play when I first put the sled on, but once the rails passed to of the tabs, there was no side-to-side play. I hope this helps.
I've been woodworking for decades and still have not taken the time to make a good cross cut sled. In the past, I've made them too big and heavy. They were hard to store and I would take them apart after awhile. I'm thinking this looks pretty good. Another fine job, bud!
Oh a good crosscut sled is a life saver sometimes. Agreed about storing them. I am thinking about putting a couple of holes in the base of it and then hanging it on the wall near the table saw. One of my future projects is to redo the table saw stand and when I do, I will make a shelf for the crosscut sled.
@@TheWoodworkingCorner Storage is a real issue in my shop. I probably spend 1/3 of the time it takes to make something searching for the part/tool I need. But that's my shortcoming. Hey, you're doing a great job of turning out quality videos with great subject matter. My wife thought that we could have done a local community TV program years ago (BYT, before you tube) and I thought, " who in the world would want to see some jim oak working in a shop), I could've been a contender. Too late now.
Excellent job, Jim. I'm going to make one once I'm up and going. Thanks for sharing! By the way, can I complete the last step if I don't have any Pokemon cards? LOL
I'm at the other end of the spectrum. I'm just starting out. My wife probably wishes I purchased a train set instead. Boxes of tools and accessories are piling up in my office. I have to wait until my back heals wells enough before I can install insulation in our new 16' x 12' shed. After that I can start reorganizing our garage and shed. I may have to outsource parts. LOL @@TheWoodworkingCorner
I have a ryobi job saw that has 4 tabs in the miderslot. Do you have recommendations on how to mack runners for this.

Haha, never too late.

Nope, Pokemon cards are a must :)
I will add a link so that people can order specially made spacers with Pokemon characters on them, hehehe...
Great idea! I look forward to purchasing them. If not, I'll get in touch with my son and see if he still has his cards. *grins*@@TheWoodworkingCorner
FYI - I went to Home Depot this morning. Lots of great deals on Ryobi, DeWalt, Makita, etc. I'm spending my son's inheritance since I'm retired. :)
Oh nice... Some of my tools are starting to wear out. It may be a time to start replacing some of my older stuff.
