    You can also scrape that plastic housing down into a powder and use it as a tinder if it’s anything like a plastic tent stake

    I’d probably cut one end off not using the whole strand and the put the rest back
    I’m frugal lol

      I find often the type of Ferro rod matters when lighting tender cords... Unless it's jute

      A lighter is always the easiest way to get a fire started, but in an emergency you may not have one, or it may not work.
