Fabulous video! Many thanks to the author of the channel for the recommendations! The problem with many people is that they want to take a "magic pill" or get "secret knowledge" and immediately have skills and abilities. However, the truth of life is that knowledge, skills, and abilities do not come by themselves. You can't learn a foreign language without doing anything, without wasting your time and effort, just like you can't learn to ride a bike lying on a comfy couch, listening to lectures and watching videos about "modern methods of learning" on a bike. To really learn something, you have to really practice every day. You're going to fall down while you're learning, and you're going to get bumps - that's normal! The ups and downs of learning are an integral part of our lives. Motivation from success and depression from failure will always be your study companions. However, every student has problems in his or her studies that he or she lacks the knowledge to solve. It can be: poor memorization of words; no progress in language learning; the student can speak, but does not understand speech by ear; misunderstanding of grammar; incorrect pronunciation, etc. Agree that a problem you don't know how to solve is very demotivating. In order to find the answer to our question we have to spend a lot of time to read videos, articles and books by polyglots. In today's world, we have to solve problems as quickly as possible. I don't have time to study and analyze a huge amount of information. My goal is to master the basic knowledge of a foreign language as quickly as possible and already start earning money effectively in the international arena. I settled on the practical guide by Yuriy Ivantsiv " Polyglot's Notes: practical tips for learning foreign language". This book is always in my bag. If I have a problem while learning a language, I quickly find the answer in this book. There are many different techniques and tips for learning a foreign language in Polyglot Notes. I have made my own individual schedule and plan for language learning. Now I know what I am going to study, how I am going to study, when I am going to study and what results I am going to achieve. No problem could stop me! With an effective language learning plan my professional skills are more and more in demand internationally every day. Friends, don't stop there! Everyone has talents that millions of people around the world need! Learn the language and make your ideas and dreams come true! Thanks to the author of the channel for the informative and useful video! Your videos motivate me.

Tuhle teorii jsem už slyšel, ale nikdy jsem ji neviděl vysvětlenou tak nadšeně...jsi skvělý komunikátor a kvůli tobě si chci koupit každý český příběh a strávit život jeho čtením.🙂

wow, this approach makes so much sense, I'm surprised the idea is not pushed more by teachers. I have spent 8 years learning words, perfecting pronunciation and accent, but I still cannot string a sentence together to hold a conversation. Memory retention as an adult needs a different style of learning, i.e. going back to a child, where mum reads stories to you. Thank you so much Eliško, your wise words will help my progress x100. 😘😘

I believe that in Europe and mostly small languages unfortunately many teachers just teach regardless the efficiency of their methods. Slowczech s goal is to change the way we learn language, too. So I'm happy you have switched so easily! 🤩😁 Let me know in couple of weeks or months how tou feel about your Czech. Eliška

Adele, díky moc za komentář. Stories and natural conversation containing the language we are the most likely to re-use. Yes 🤩 You are right! I am happy that slowczech can bring you some of those :) Eliška

We started to have Czech lessons with pohádky at school, and I do feel like I progressed a bit faster in this way! Also, such a nice explanation here about why stories are great for language learning. :)

I'm alternating listening to this with English and Czech subtitles. I think if you know the story already it makes it a lot easier to get the meaning.

    • @slowczech

Agreed. The only thing is that we need to listen/watch go one story more than once 😏☺️ Eliška

    Ahoj!
I’m really sorry for not writing in czech but I’m still a bit intimidated and I don’t think I’d be able to express myself that much.
One of my czech friends gave an amazing book full of Grimm stories but I still struggle a bit to understand them. Can you (or anyone) recommend me UA-cam videos or pages where I can listen to / read stories for really young kids? (In czech ofc hehe)
Thank you so much in advance!🧡

(I forgot to mention: I sadly can’t work right now because this is my last year in school and I have too much things to do. I’m embarassed to ask my parents for any money because I already asked for too much.
I want to buy the slow czech book eventually but right now I just can’t :( )

Ahoj Lexi, I have been using Česká televize where you have a pile of different shows, stories, večerníčky. You can turn on the subtitles. Even though, you will not find simplified Czech. For example: www.ceskatelevize.cz/porady/10177109865-dejiny-udatneho-ceskeho-naroda/dily/
this one, related to the Czech history.
On UA-cam you can find Peppa Pig = Prasátko Pepa that some of my students like, too. I was watching it in Arabic but personally, I prefer to see the real mouth moving and a normal non-exagerated voice so it didnt work for me. But try it, it might for you.
