Stephen (one of my Patreon members) tested this on FG MkII and it worked! So safe to say it'll work on any Falcon from AU2 to FGX 👌 but may not with some aftermarket key fobs. Stay safe everyone.
@@scarfacedaw Pretty sure you can. On my 14' FG MKII G6E i've got it programmed to unlock only the drivers door, and auto lock above 10km/h. Along with horn chirp confirmation upon locking & unlocking my doors. Not sure if that auto lock feature is available on XT's, XR6's, etc. But i'll gladly be corrected.
Mine is in the drivers door only mode but I can't change it! No matter what I try it won't recognise any keypads when I try to program them😥 so I have to use a key like it's the 1980's or something 🙄
Confirmed its the same for FG Mk2. Can be done via the remote PROVIDING you have a legit one. If you have an aftermarket/3rd party keyfob, the feature will NOT work.
Cool feature. I think I preferred how my old VT did it, one click for the drivers door, two to unlock all doors. Seems like a more convenient way to program the fob imo.
I have owned my BF XR6 now for 7 years now and never knew about this!! I literally get into my car and the first thing I do is lock the doors. Great tip and awesome video mate 👍
I bought a low mileage AU2 late last year, and bought replacement keyfobs for it, after training the new fobs I noticed it was in the secondary mode, and never figured out how, now I know. This is a cool tip, and solved a mystery for me!
Pretty much any car produced for the US market has this feature, anti-hijack and panic alarms are an expected feature on the keyless entry over there. Ford and Holden ended up with it here mainly due to the parent companies specifying it as part of the body control features. When I supply new keys for a car I usually ask the owner what mode they want their keyless entry in because as you said, most don't know this feature exists here in Australia.
You can also hold the interior light button on the ICC in B series and up (not sure about AU's), for 5 seconds (or 10 seconds?) to set different modes. Such as, not turning on the interior light when doors are opened, only turn on interior light when drivers door opened and the usual, turn on interior light when any door is opened. Not sure if there are any other modes.
Huh.. Thanks for the tip. My AU had the driver-only unlock mode set when I got the car and I thought that was the only way it worked. for me its bloody annoying because I don't travel alone and had to press the unlock twice each time
Can confirm- AU1 series have the earlier EB-onwards two button remote, and this feature cannot be programmed in. Just carry something next to the seat in case of a carjacking.
My VZ Calais has this similar setting. You go through the cars trip computer settings to activate it. I love using the function as it does make me feel safer just having the drives door unlock. To do it, you press the unlock button once for the drivers door only, or hold the unlock button down to open all four. Pretty good feature that I didn't know the Calais had till I went through all the settings after purchasing the car
A few people seem to be misunderstanding this. Holding both buttons down to swap unlocking modes only needs to be done once. After that, you simply use your lock and unlock buttons the same a usual. Mode1: Unlock button unlocks all doors. Mode2: Unlock button unlocks driver's door only - with a second press unlocking the rest.
i have a bf falcon...but i dont have the key with the buttons on it just the key...when i unlock my car it just unlocks the driver door and when i try to lock it, it locks all the doors...is this an issue with the central locking or is it just on the wrong mode like yours?
You beauty. I have a BF2, I was well aware of the separate locking modes, and I was stuck on the unlock all doors mode while my preference is the unlock driver door first mode. But I never knew there was a way to swap the modes around without having to reassign the remotes all over again. Cheers for this.
Holy shit it works, I'm on my second BA 2003 and only just found this out. Yay for less actuator failures, I've personally had 2 fail, 1 in each car over the years. Thanks for sharing.

Hey, this does work on all later models falcons, also almost all of the other Ford variants too - Ranger, Everest, Focus, Escape etc. on European Fords with one touch windows all round, try hold down the lock/unlock button, this is called Global locking/unlocking and will wind your windows up and down remotely. Say for a hot day and you want to let some fresh air in before you go out to your car.
global locking and with the global windows are only for the newer built Ford 2017 onwards due to the added Modules. there is a youtuber Richardo that has mentioned it in his 2018 ish F150 and works with a mod with the Forscan app
Thanks so much for that. Works great. Never heard anything about that before. I Just found it when trying to work out why no Falcon has a key for the glove box and did they cone with one? My friends car did that and he thought it was a problem with the car. He didn’t know if you press it twice it would unlock everything so he would press the button on the icc unit.
It also works on SY Territories as well... We used that feature as our default! To unlock all doors, it's a simple double tap on the unlock remote button!!👌
My VE, VX and VY all have this. I thought it was just a safety feature on cars. Although it was already on the car, like I didn’t have to change it anything. Glad it exists tho
Parents VX had set from factory short press drivers door long press or additional press to do other doors . Pressing lock twice also enabled deadlock mode 👍
oh wow, both my au fairlane and au falcon wagon have been unlocking the drivers door only since ive owned them. thought it was that way from factory. no idea you can change it to unlock all doors at once.
I have an aftermarket fob as mine oem one was damaged, is there any way to have this programmed manually or have a two click for unlocking all doors like some Holden's do? Otherwise I might have to try repairing my old fob to test this
Stephen thanks for the tip. However I stopped using the wireless remote after it somehow caused my BA XT 2003 sedan to sound its horn in the middle of the night randomly. New battery didn’t seem to help so I just took out the battery from the remote and only use key access. Any suggestions on a fix?
I tried two remote keys just now on my 2004 BA Ute just now but neither worked as described. Holding down both buttons just does nothing even after five seconds. Though I do know that one of my remote keys is aftermarket from eBay. It's possible the other one is too. It was supplied to me when I bought the car last year, though the buttons on it are quite worn, and it doesn't have a boot release button (because Ute), which lead me to think it is the original. Both remotes are just square black plastic things with white marking (and a red panic button) and didn't look like the remote key in your video, but maybe the AU remote is a different shape.
One of the other comments I received mentioned it didn't work with one aftermarket remote, but then another guy with a different aftermarket remote got it working. So it may depend on which particular one(s) you have!
My AU3 ute was set to open both doors and found in the owners book how to alter it to driver’s door only. But the directions are different to how you’re explaining. Now I have an AU 2 Fairlane and it is set to the 2 button press to open all doors and the book directions don’t work, I’ll be sure to try your method instead. Cheers
My ute must not have this feature. I did learn that holding the button down is quicker then me spamming it 6 times to open the passenger side though. Cheers
I stumbled across this browsing through my manual in my Territory and set it 90% of the time like this. Before I sold it though I put it back on the normal setting as I thought someone might have thought the system was defective lol. Unless you read the manual fully you wouldn't know about this feature.....
I've found that some AU's and BA's are set to only unlock the drivers door and some all doors. My au is currently set to unlock.druvers door and unlock with a second a push where my brothers car is the opposite and unlocks all.
I never knew that was a thing with the falcon though I have never had anything to do with the falcons after the early 90's models. That looking mode was a standard feature on my 1998 Jeep Grand Cherokee and my Commodore SV Ute is the same as my Jeep with that. I Still would love to have a XR6 turbo if I could afford one though.
Fuses? Or maybe check the button itself first. If it's neither of those I'd be checking the actuator at the boot to see if putting power to it directly makes it work.
Is there a way to get your headlights to turn on automatically when you unlock your falcon? I'm curious to see if I can do this on my 2012 ford g6e. Cheers
The grandparents used to have a 2002 Ford Falcon future and it used to have this feature activated for security which I thought was pretty good I nearly ended up with that car myself

Most people don't delve into settings or read owner's manuals. I mentioned it as a throwaway comment in a previous video and was amazed how many people in the comments section didn't know about it. So we're the minority!
The actuator broke on the drivers door TWICE and so I gave up and use the key on the drivers door and the central locking on the other three - so by default I actualy only have one door unlock because I am lazy or just tired of replacing the dam plastic gears in the actuator!! LOL By the way my car had it's rear screen blow apart yesterday while arked inthe driveway! It is now cleaned up and waiting for the windscreen repair to arrive - 4 day waiting list! No reason why screen went crazy since it was under the carport and we only had mild weather that day 15degrees!
My old AU2 must have been in this mode from brand new because right from the word go one click on the remote only ever unlocked the drivers door. 2nd click unlocked the other 3 doors. It never unlocked all 4 doors at the same time from brand new.
On the b series you can also hold the power button to turn off the icc screen yet keep everything on. It will turn on for a few seconds if you change the A/C or volume or radio etc, but i like the screen off for driving at night. Also, theres another thing with the b series. If you hold the interior light button for 10 seconds the interior lights flash. After that, they only turn on for a few seconds when you unlock the car. Otherwise they stay off. I like that setting as i predominantly drive during the day so it prolongs the life of my interior lamps. Unrelated, but b series again, on the underside of the centre arm rest there is a pen holder and a business card holder. In the front of the console there is a coin holder. Or atleast thats whats in my 08 bf2 ghia.
@@MotoringBoxTV the 1st two, i know they deffinately work for a bf2. So probably should work for your ba turbo. Worst case if they do work and you have a slow week, well, content right there. My 89 Ford Meteor Ghia only locks and unlocks all doors with the key on the driver's door or the lock button inside the driver's door. I bet an AU 2 doesn't do a second gear take off in the automatic though. Btw I wish I had your head shape Sean. Mines a horror from side on. Always hated it.

Thanks for another great video
would it work on a territory
Yup!
Crazy my alarm unlocks one door, then push unlock again and it does all 4.its a good trick
AWESOME!
Good tips, I didn't know about the first two!
@@MotoringBoxTV the 1st two, i know they deffinately work for a bf2. So probably should work for your ba turbo. Worst case if they do work and you have a slow week, well, content right there. Nobody really knows about that crap, and its nothing amazing, but it falls into the convenience like memory mirrors and pedels, seats and the other crap my bf does that kills the battery.
I think unlocking the driver door is the default setting. As i just setup 2 brand new remotes on my au2 and thats setting i have
I just tried it on my SX Territory since it based on a BA. However I have a aftermarket flip key, so it wouldn't work. And damn it, I just noticed it got a tailgate open only button. God I feel like a idiot, and I have had the car for nearly 2 years !!
Mine isn't exactly my finest feature either
@@MotoringBoxTV you're well ahead of me mate!
When I got my au the driver side only unlocked
FG 6E 2014MK2 horn not working ..please help thanks
Could be a blown fuse? If not you may need to take it to an auto electrician.
