I had two pair of these. They broke after very little use. I also purchased Night Sight from the same company, Ontel. All broken in no time. I tried to reach customer service, never could get through. I contacted the company directly. They said there was nothing they could do for me. I have three pairs of broken glasses.

Glad I saw the video, because I was wondering what the heck is 160% better. My Dentist wears glasses with a light and magnifier and they are really zooming in more than reading glasses you'll find in most stores. Now I just realized reading glasses (cheaters) come in similar sizes. I use +1.25. The Mighty Sight uses +1.60 with the benefit of a light. A nice pair of readers can be found for about $15 so getting glasses with built in lights can be very useful to a lot of people based on reading comments here and only cost $5 more. I can't judge if they are nice lenses though. I have seen these on HSN for $31 with anti-scratch proof and other stuff. Anyway, find the best deal for you if needed. Thanks again for the review.

I do like the idea of having built in lights - that being said the lights make me nervous as my first pair malfunctioned. I wonder how long they will last. Thanks for stopping by and commenting.

Hi I bought mines through their ads, I got the two bargain with the non scratch resistant, I do lots of crocheting, knitting, reading , arts and craft things regularly. I had them on for a bit and after 6 months I went thru both of them, the closing them up and opening them back up must of affected the wiring in them, no matter how much I charge them the light will not work, one the arms of one of them snapped out of its socked , i was able to put it back in but it stopped working after a while. So i'm left with no glasses whats so ever. I am no looking for a good set of magnifying glasses again, the light fixture wasn't that strong, very little after uses, constantly charging it more and more. Not happy, I never am disappointed in things I get but boy I am about this ! Bought them in june 2020 and out by november, both of them, precaution.

I have age-related macular degeneration in my right eye. The thing that interested me is the light source directly on what I read. I was about to buy them online because they offer 2for $19, but with the advantage of returning them if I have a problem, I am going to buy them at Walmart. Thanks for the review of Mighty Sight.

Excellent job on the review compared to other videos out there, IMHO. I would like to see a comparison of the BV product to the similar Foster Grant product, which costs about the same. I would say though that if magnification is your main interest, then you should probably go with the FGs, which have twice the magnification (3.25x) vs. the BVs. However, it seems to me that the BV have brighter LEDs (esp. when the batteries on the FGs get a little low). The big advantage though in that regard is the rechargeable method of the BVs, vs. the PITA battery replacement with the FGs.

  • @electricfootballhero1349

FWIW, they function just fine as reading glasses. But the wiring shorts out within 3 months or less. You're better off just taping a cheap flashlight to a cheap pair of reading glasses for the exact same value.

I only wanted something to magnify the small print in some magazines I read such as People, Entertainment Weekly, and TV Guide. I only thought that the Mighty Sight glasses would help magnify the small print so that I could read it. Thank you once again for your response, and may God bless you and keep you safe. I got a pair for my mother. No lights come on when charging. Where is the charging light located? Thanks Jeff!

There is a little light next to the charging port that sort of pulsates when it's charging.

Hey Jeff, great review! Here’s the thing, I’m 53 years old now. It’s a fact that vision naturally diminishes at, ehhem, around this age. I’ve been wearing regular glasses for distance my entire adult life. So within the last few years my eyesight has diminished for up close reading. I cannot wear readers or cheaters, they make me dizzy and do not work for me at all. The Mighty Sight seems like they could work for me. It would be very similar to using a large lighted magnifying glass (which I do currently own). They are useful for very small print in less than bright conditions. The question is, could these work for me? I’m thinking....yes. The led lights look kinda geeky but, I’m a computer geek anyway! So I’m going to try them for “up close” reading. I will get back to this post with my results based on what I have posted tonight. Great job, I’m ready to take the plunge. I really like your channel, by the way. In this segment it reminded me of those commercials on tv of people acting like and essentially becoming their a Dad or Mom! I was watching you and that crossed my mind for me. I’ve subscribed and will follow your previous and new posts since we both have that same interest. I’m just not brave enough to create a UA-cam channel like you. I’m sure you come across some wacky things! Funny how they come up with the names for all these as seen on TV items. Mighty Sight. Can my sight really become mighty good with these glasses? I’ll follow up in about a week. Thanks again Jeff, great job!

I'd be interested to know what you think of the mighty sight. It would be a great comparison with your current lighted magnification glasses. I will say the 160% magnification worked pretty well and the lights were a bonus (when they worked correctly). Thanks for checking out my channel and for taking the time to share your thoughts.
