Thanks for making aware of this movie. I just warched it on youtube. The St. Louis Blues number with the black cast in the middle of the film is terrific. I also love Buddy Ebsen's soft shoe and the duet he does with Barbara Stanwyck.
I just learned that Tony Martin died on July 27, 2012. Wikipedia "now" shows that he was born on Christmas in 1913 (not 1912). Gee wiz, he almost made it to 99. I wouldn't complain! This is my favorite "There's Something In the Air". Thanks, again.
@LoreneFaith My mother was born in the 20's and had a crush on Clark Gable so I think it's kind-of rare for you to love watching a 1936 movie. But I am actually worse off, since I was born in the 60's and HAVE a crush on Barbara Stanwyck. I guess that's the difference between men and women :) As for the old movies, I also love watching many of the ones made in the 30's and 40's. Why? I am not quite sure but I guess I am just old fashion. Thanks again nice person for this nice video
FYI: As of January 2012 Wikipedia says Tony Martin who was born on December 25, 1912 is still alive! If so, he's 99 years old. And boy would I like to shake his hand for this absolutely great piece of work - what an amazing voice! Lastly, for someone who obviously likes this music, I am curious to what decade were you born in - Lorene?
What a great song, a great voice. One of the best I ever heard. More than beautiful, very great.

It is a great little movie and will always be one of my favorites.
Great song....sung by a GREAT singer!!!
He lived longer than my Mother who passed away in January at 83. I am glad that you enjoy the video. It is a beautiful song.
Good song, well sung! Thx! Nice print, too.

The song in The Big Store is called "If It's You".
This song, Something In The Air, is great. And the arrangement.
I am in my 50's. My profile photo is my kindergarten pic. I love this song. Tony sings it beautifully.
@luftra I was born in the 50's and just love the old movies. I had a crush on Clark Gable when I was 13.
A lot of singers have done this tune, but Tony owns it...
I like this tune so much! Can you name other singers who have done it? I'd like to hear other versions too.
@luftra There is just a charm about the old movies. Maybe they reflect a much simpler time. I adore them.
Tony Martin never sang better than this in his great career...

@MrGziss Thanks for the info. I will have to check that movie out :)
@2dancingbuttercups It really is a great little movie. I adore it! The story is kind of silly and some of the acting is so, so. But I still love it.
@LoreneFaith yes, its called "the big store"
Al Morris, aka: Tony Martin was my dad's college chum!!!

@johnnycchops I really like it too. I like all of the music in this movie. I think it is a great movie even if the storyline is silly.
