  • It's the time of the year that we, Salas from Davao, going back to the land of our roots in Cansiwang, Guindulman, Bohol! It is a fantastic experience to mingle with our relatives in Bohol. We are many in this reunion, yet a bunch is still needed to be completed. This reunion also includes a Bohol Tour in many of the very much well-known destinations of the island.
A big hug to all of our relatives from Bohol especially to the Team Sefa, Team Pilo and Team Lilay for the warm welcome and accommodation. It was indeed a very fun experience amidst the busy schedules.
Balik sa Bohol, Balik will always be a music to my ear - for sure I will come back. :)

Great! Did your family migrate to Davao in the 1950s? If so, most probably you've got some sizeable land that is very productive.

You may find this success story interesting:
    - my mother's family (6 bros, 4 sisters) were subsistence farmers in Bar. Tugas
    - in the 1950s, one brother availed of a gov't. homestead program in Davao
    - I'm not sure of his specific location, but his son mentioned that in 2007 or so
    - his copra business gitulisan P70k by 3 hold uppers
    - his business was near a police station, yet the hold uppers did their thing
    - he reported the heist to the mayor
    - some days later, the 3 hold uppers , in his cryptic words, "gibugha na". I interpreted that as "gi salvaged na"
    - his land ownership expanded, because he bought land around his holdings
    - his family have long been engaged in commercial farming, using tractor for rice production; they have durian plantation
-they've got a house at the Davao City center
-from time to time, they visit Tugas; in 2011 I joined them when they toured interior Bohol (Choco Hills , Alicia, Loboc)

That's amazing! Our family was with rice farming then to banana.. but somewhere North of Davao. Thriving in the farm. But everyone graduated and became professionals. Our place in Bohol is at Cansiwang, Guindulman a bit near Alicia

@@JoyoftheWorld A little bit perplexing... Google Maps do not show Bar. Cansiwang. But I reckon it can't be more than 10 km from Bar. Tugas.
Btw, I guess that a "drone strike" terminated the 3 hold uppers in my short story. DS (Death Squadrone) could have existed in my uncle's area, at least around 2007. I think North of Davao, and the rest of Mindanao , "Land of Opportunity", is "DS -free".

@@oilairnalo yes far-flung area.. ehhehe yes somehow north of Davao is free of the DS hehehe
