Don't cut employees unless there is decreased business. You'll have the customers and employees stressed to the max. This recipe is killing fast-food chains and small restaurants all over the east coast. I can't imagine what it would do to a tourist economy.
We're all in this together.
It starts with Matson and Pasha gouging us and maintaining a duopoly on shipping. Then you add in the inflated property prices as we cater to the rich who need a second or third home here, over bidding on homes and land. That trickles down to us all at some point ( high rent, etc) .
Cost is never gonna go back down. Ppl are going to need to be self sustainable. Stock up on beans and grow root vegetables like potatoes and carrots. During the great depression that's what ppl ate to strive. God bless Hawaii❤
What restraurants make at the bar is unreal it’s an Island a lot gets brought over from the mainland costs money gotta cater to the restraunts and keep them up and running

Everything trickles down to the average everyday person. Glad the tourists are rushing in, because a lot of these places would be empty and closing up without them to pay these prices.

If you know the economy you know that's not a good thing. The people getting the raise think it's a good thing but it's not because the food and product prices will rise and so will their taxes, so in reality they're just getting a tiny bit more not much. What they should do is wait till the timing is right when times are better.

The fast food workers are getting $19 to $25 in the LA area.
