The song beautifully, even perfectly, captures the heart-tugging emotion one experiences when saying a final goodbye to something you love. I understand Montes was inspired to compose this after leaving his home in Venezuela from which he was forced to flee after his opposition to the Chavez regime. For me this song reminds me of saying goodbye to a girl named Cristina, a beautiful Filipina I met and fell in love when we worked together in an Irish bar in Kuala Lumpur in the mid 2000s. We lost touch after I moved home. I often wonder where she is now....

The story behind this piece is so incredibly sad and to hear the man who wrote it play it is amazing.
Love hearing the composer play his own piece. That should be authoritative if there's ever a question of interpretation! What a beautiful voice to the piece, the guitar and his playing.

A. Montes is both a good composer and good guitarist. Is it possible to see a good composer for guitar and at the same time a bad guitar player?
For my taste ,Fleta guitars are the best sounding guitars in the world ,superior to Hauser guitars , french guitars and australian guitars and even spanish guitars.
I feel that choice of guitar is heavily dependant on the style of music one plays, but I do agree that Fletas sound amazing.
