This is perfect. I like your advice about marking the pleat before removing the cuff, as well watching how much is inside the cuff - 2 things I wouldn’t have done. Thank you!
I've watched both videos and they are extremely helpful. I think I can shorten one of my dad's shirts with confidence. The second shirt has a pearl snap, much like a western shirt. Any advice on moving that snap? Both of the shirts need several inches removed.
I just watched your other video about shortening sleeves, and I was wondering why you didn't' just take the cuff off, cut the sleeve and sew the cuff back on. And here it is. Thank you.
Hello , and thanks for your video , COULD you please make a video on ( how to tight a sleeves for a man shirt) , I have many shirts with M size but they always have big and wide sleeves to my size , is it possible to do it without a sewing machine , I don't have one ? Thanks 😊
Is there a reason we can’t cut the seams where the arm meet the shoulders, cut off the excess and reattach the arm sleeve at the shoulder seam? I ask because it’s baggy at the armpit area for me and would like slimmer profile at the armpit/shoulder/bicep area. Thank you in advance
If you just cut the sleeve off, you'll have to sew it back on, lowering the arm hole even further and creating more fit issues. I hope this helps. If this doesn't make sense, get a shirt you don't intend to wear and try the alteration on it. I often have to work through something for it to make sense to me. Good luck!
I have the shortest arms known to man.I am a 16x31.I am retired and have decided to do this to all of my shirts, but I have no sewing machine. My wife has one. It's never been out of the box.She thinks my idea is silly.Looks like a big disagreement is on the horizon.Maybe I will just give them all away and buy some custom-made shirts. My old army shirts fit fine. They are cotton.
Yes. Is easy but not really aesthetic. I took 5 shirts to a woman that supposedly isbthe best, and she really ruined the shirts. The other video, could be more complicated, but keeps proportions perfectly.

Yo welkom! Did Google translate that correctly? 😄
Thank you for this....much easier than the other video
Thank you! You saved the day.
Another awesome video! Thank you for this : )
Greatest video I've watched so far! Now I really think I can try and be a success. I'll let you know.
I’d love to hear how it turned out.
thanks a lot for this video!! is very clear and easy to follow :)
Awesome 👍
I have done some with removing sleeve placket for 5 inches off.
Wow! That’s a lot to remove, did you have to taper the sleeve?
@@AngelaWoolsey no just put more pleats into cuff.

Yes, because I wanted to show that there is more than one way to do it. 😊
I see you use a different foot than mine. Which is it? Can't seem to sew in a straight line.. I`m pretty "green".
It’s the standard zigzag foot but this one is Teflon.

Yes, You can do this by hand. It can be rewarding sewing by hand. I’m going to brush up on my hand sewing and then I’ll make the video. ☺️
@@AngelaWoolsey thanks 😊 , I am waiting for it
Still waiting , thanks in advance
@@NoOne-xh7ek I'm working on it. The recording is partially done. I'll be finished soon. :)
How to alter the shoulders length? Thanks 😊
Yes! :) I’m recording that video now. It will publish on Thursday

Learning to sew is really easy. Whip out that machine :)

I agree! The little extra work keeps things proportional and looks so much better!
