The volume of carbonized rice husks will directly depend on the size of the pile you start with. If you start with a pile twice the size you will end up with twice the volume...try it!

Yes you are right. Way less smoke should be coming out of the pipe. But over all we get a very, very good ration ash to charcoal. It isn't the most professional system. It's a solution for everyone to access the product and use it.

I followed and carbonated the husk but after mixing it up with binder and water to make a briquette but the briquette lacks ignition spike and because of that it can not burn. Any help please???
Hello, carbonizing will require burning, therefore it will create some smoke. The pollution isn't really big compare to the potential benefits of using Carbonized Rice Hull (CRH). But to be clear, CRH has nothing to do with composting, but the fact that you can add it to your compost pile. I recommend you look into composting method if you want to create compost and not CRH.
Hi, not being sure I understand your question, I will answer the 2 options. 1- You can definitely use CRH on plants directly after it cool down. I would recommend you mix it with good quality compost first, though. 2- regarding the wood shavings I would recommend you use it to mulch more woody plants, like bushes and trees. Wood shavings will need "N" to break down. therefore it may starve you vegetables and other shallow rooted plants form Nitrogen. If you have a lot, wood shavings a great used as on path as well.

Around 2 hours, everything included. It is very easy to do, and will make a big difference where applyed.
