Harold Wills had the Art Deco grocery store on the left. "dearie " ( we never knew her real name ) was a great home bake cake shop 1st right. 2 nd right was Miss Symonds lending library. Amazing how it all comes back !

Is this footage all from the Roslyn line or some Kaikorai line footage also?

I'm thinking the same as you, there are some scenes where the cable car goes around certain bends which I'm certain were not on the Kaikorai Line but probably on the Roslyn one...?

Yes this is all the Kaikorai line. Need to remember that upper Stuart Street did not exist at the time. Extensive earth moving was required to build upper Stuart Street including demolition of one of Dunedin's most grand houses. So what you now see going up past Moana pool and under the bridge over to Kaikorai Valley is very different to when the cable car ran that route. The cable car would have followed the twists and turns from the power house in Kaikorai Valley up to Highgate (no overbridge then) and then plunging down the cable car-only route till it rejoined the road network at London Street

Coincidentally there is another video in the Hocken Collection which shows the construction of upper Stuart Street and the scale of the earthworks - see here ua-cam.com/video/jspmlhq8mjA/v-deo.html
