Im late to the party on this video but one of my fav songs from him (its pretty basic pick for Kendrick fans but its validated) is Sing About Me I'm Dying of Thirst. Its one of the few very long songs that keeps me engaged

More Kendrick! Black Friday with J Cole is his best flex song imo, plus the song in the start of the video he played for a few seconds is 'Cartoons & Cereal', it was left off his big album Good Kid Maad City as it got leaked

I'm glad you've decided to check out more of Kendrick. Looking forward to future reactions. Honestly for any suggestions...You won't get the full expirience if you listen to his songs out of order. So to start, you can check out his first major album Section 80, then Good Kid Maad City, To Pimp A Butterfly, DAMN, Untitled Unmastered (these are some songs that he didn't put in his albums, but fans still love them) and finally Mr. Morale and the Big Steppers. Every album has a story and if you listen to songs out of order, yea, they are still good, but you miss context. So I hope you decide to do full album listens (with lyrics from Genius-it's easier to not miss anything). And especially for Good Kid M.A.A.D city, even though there are music videos, I suggest listening to the full songs on the album first, because there is a story told through the skits that ties the album together and they aren't included in the videos. It's basically a movie told through songs. 😂 Kendrick is one of these artists that really pours his soul into his music and it shows with how he constructs his albums and writes his lyrics. Anyway sorry for the rant, but I hope I was of help and you continue your music journey! 💜

Cheers man! Welcome to the channel, super keen to get into it. I'll see if the general consensus is that I start from Section 80, then I might do that. My only issue is how I am going to format these videos (Whether its individual song reactions, double song reactions or full album reactions). Super keen for the skits too tho, from listening to Eminem albums, it adds so much to the album experience.

      @@MNMHubAnother rant incoming, sorry!
Most reactions I've seen on UA-cam about K dot have been of his full albums and they seem to do well. If you decide to to albums in parts, imo Section 80 and Untitled Unmastered you can do 1 or 2 songs per video, since they aren't too connected to each other. Since you haven't decided, let me tell you some things about the albums, so you can choose what to do first. Good kid MAAd city is an album that is told like a movie+skits (about Kendrick and his life in Compton), so it flows the best when you listen to it in one go. To Pimp a butterfly is more of a concept album, so the songs are about Kendrick and his new found fame. It's as much a political album about race and discrimination as it is about Kendrick personally struggling with the changes in his life due to wealth and fame and the fact that he feels like he doesn't belong. That's why imo you have to listen to GKMC first, to see where exactly he comes from. DAMN is considered his most "mainstream" album. His hit "Humble" is on this one. But the most interesting thing about this album is that if you listen to it in order it tells one story. But if you play the songs from last to fisrt it tells another. So the message of the album depends on how you choose to listen to it. Mr Morale is by far the most personal album Kdot has made. It's him admitting his own faults to himself and to his fans (like him saying he isn't anybody's savior). It's hard to listen to, so people have mixed opinions about it. Hope that helps you get an idea how to film your videos and in what order. 😂 He also did the soundtrack for the Black Panther movie, so you can check some of the songs too. The mvs for "All the stars" ft SZA, "King's dead" ft J rock and Future are great.
Kendrick has been one of my top artists for years now, so I'm happy to talk about his songs. Idk which you've seen so I covered everything. Also we are opposites, because I'm out of the loop with Eminem's music and decided to delve deeper since his new album dropped. 😂

Sorry man, just saw the rest of your response then! Cheers for the heads up with all that info, I think I might do the full album reactions but split it into 2-3 parts! And yeah man definitely listen to some of Em's older stuff, he was on another level with his first 3 album run with Slim Shady LP, Marshall Mathers LP & The Eminem Show.

In the beginning you said the mash up was influences... Alot of those sound clips are from his other albums and bodies of work.
Also for a next song I'd say m.a.a.d city off gkmc.
    Or....
    Cartoons and cereal
Or 'fear' of the damn album

Dropping part way into To Pimp a Butterfly is tough. Since you're watching the music video, you're catching part of the story told across the album.
The song stands on its own but the bookends of this song will be kinda confusing without the context of the songs that come before this.
The album is excellent and worth a listen all the way through.

Howdy. Just reacting as a rando K Dot fan, but I'd like to adjust your perception of American policing. In it's modern form it's simply unequivocally not racist. The stats are fully available, and the assertions is tired and meaningless.

    • @ItsNessaTho

George Floyd was murdered by cops in 2020...Breonna Taylor in the same year, Daunte Wright in 2021 and Amir Locke in 2022. You can use stats to deflect but it doesn't change the fact that the police is in fact racist. These aren't isolated cases either. A cop does some bullshit and the entire force is ready to defend them, so it's the whole system.
