- In this very very interesting video I will show you how it's possible to actually remove a lot of old fungus in this old RF Nikkor H·C 1:2 f=5cm for the 39mm screw mount (LTM).
I use first lighter fluid on a "PEC-PAD" and try to remove the fungus, but it did not work at all, then I try with Hydrogen Peroxid 3% on a "PEC-PAD" and all the fungus simply was gone, there was no track of old fungus on the lens surface, so it turn out to be a BIG SUCCESS.
I took a picture before and after the cleaning process, and there is a huge difference.

I’ve read so many different tales about how to remove fungus (some even recommended oil from your nose!) - it is great to see a real demonstration of how it is done! Thank you!
One of the best tutorials and specially for some of us who like to mess with old lenses .Thanks Mikeno62 !!!
Thank's Argi, I'm happy to know that :-)
Hi Kenneth, Nice video. Odd that the fungus did not attack the front element. Great before and after photos. Thanks!
Thank's Tom, it was very interesting to make this video because of that the fungus only was on the back lens group.
thank you for doing these videos!
nice video! although i needed a tutorial for a nikon s mount this was so interesting to watch
Thank You for Your great work! You allready encouraged me to repair a lens myself. It had lots of haze on a rear element and now it' sharp again! Now I am trying to repair the shutter of my Sekor C 50mm 4.5 but I am stuck. I can't figure out how to remove the housing of the floating element. Do You have a clue? Thanks again!
I have watch a few of these videos now. Thank you they are very well done. I have an old M39 W-Nikkor 1.3.5 f=3.5cm NO42700 Nippon Kogaku Tokyo Lens that is very hard to turn to focus that needs to be disabled and cleaned. This similar to your video RF Nikkor H -C1:2 f=5cm. What tools will I need and do you think this can be accomplish aa a first time try? Thank you
Please can you do a video on the Olympus om-system zuiko auto-s 50mm F1.8? my one has a bit of dust and fungus on the inner elements, the appiture blades are a little sticky and the damping of the focusing ring judders a bit.
Hello, I have just purchased NIKKOR 200mm F4 D-AF , but A-M ring is cracked. do you have any idea where can I get one? Thank you.
Nice video! Too bad you used the collapsible version as the rigid is much more common.
You've got a cool accent but I can't pinpoint it. Are you Danish?
I use a 50/50 mixture of Hydrogen Peroxide and Ammonia.
Grey Ghost is that better than just hydrogen peroxide?
