trap of aspiring athletes

the dream of being a pro in any field of sport or athletics even in the arts seems like the ideal. But it is a social construct and only has the value that the majority of the population puts on it.
I got trapped into believing this was my way forward and to fulfilment. my ultimate vision of my life and to be happy and get all i wanted was to become a pro footballer. but fulfilment isn't found in the external or within something that is deemed important by others but rather what is important and valuable to me.
