I've had professors at uni tell me that they are not above average in intelligence. People really hate to ackowledge their own priviledge and instead create myths around their own awesomeness they created out of nothing.
I think a lot of these incels and dudes with nice guy syndrome have their hearts set out on women who are completely out of their league. I'm hardly a Calvin Klein underwear model so I'm realistic about what kind of women I can pull looks wise.

I am 36 years old and I have always been single, I have never been in a relationship. I have been affected since childhood by a very rare genetic disease that handicaps me physically. Despite this, I have no hatred towards women. I understand very well that being in a relationship with me can be complicated because of my physical situation, and I don't blame women. My situation is different from most incels, but they should see things differently instead of being so negative. They don't have any major health problems that prevent them from finding someone. Even if they have had women in the past who have behaved badly with them, not all of them will. Some may not agree, but I think these guys should change their mindset, if at all possible.
Maybe you should think about a boyfriend. Gay guys can be very patient and understanding. Just a suggestion😉

I got really close with a friend who had muscular dystrophy. We was in a wheelchair and had limited ability to move his arms and couldn’t move his legs anymore. I considered a relationship with him because we were really close and I cared for him. I decided to not pursue a relationship with him because he got mad at me that we weren’t already in a relationship yet and sort of came at me with a lot of the same rhetoric the incel community has. I called him out on it, but he didn’t quite apologize for treating me less than a person… he kinda took all his frustration out on me and instead of seeing me for me…. As I saw him for him… it made it really hard to connect with him after that. THAT is why I didn’t pursue a relationship with him. Because he let this fear and anger and sadness become bigger than what we actually had together and he put that roadblock up and couldn’t get over that. This was pre-incel online communities too. I can only imagine what rabbit hole he might have fallen through had this happened today. Unfortunately he passed away a few years ago.

I read somewhere that incels are typically those who had a bad relationship with their mothers. Which, if you hear this anywhere, you should ignore it. These men are not victims, as a dude who had an abusive mother, and no longer speaks to her, it does not result in that mentality. These men were taught from an early age that they can get whatever they want, that women are there to serve them and if they don't get what they want or a woman denies them, it results in the whole "nice guy" personality showing. Now they can break free from this, but many choose not to because then they have to deal with the fact that its not a fault of the women for not liking them, it's their own personality that's at fault. And it's easier to just put the blame on something else.

I am a woman and maybe now at 46, I am considered by many as "being old", but I am genuinely confused by this. In my experience becoming an adult during the crazy 90s, it was known and understood amongst us girls that looks for a guy were definitely secondary to: fun to hung out with, trustworthy, able to hold a conversation, a bit adventurous, having dreams etc

I have a more physiological take on this: Nowadays, people spend a lot time in front of their computers and phones, and do not have enough of exercise. This can mess up sleeping, eating, hormones etc., and consequently lead to feelings of depression, fatigue, and unattractiveness.
Furthermore, men's testosterone levels are all time low in Western countries. Having low testosterone levels tend to cause low mood and insecurity in men.
So basically many young men (and women) feel unattractive, and act accordingly around people which makes others view them negatively - and the cycle continues.
I have personally met many guys who look and seem nice but don't have any "fire" or interest in their eyes. They looked like extras from Walking Dead.
It's hard to get interested in a man who doesn't seem confident and interested himself.

When I was in middle and high school, kids and girls made fun of me, called me names, called me ugly, told me no one would ever want to be with me at all - even as an adult it’s still something I struggle with. Ppl wonder why I’m self conscious about my looks. I’ve never been violent towards anyone or mean towards anyone. I get along with everyone. I don’t get what violence or killing ppl solves. I’ve been in relationships and I’ve been married, but I still struggle with being self conscious about my looks. It’s awkward for me to receive compliments from others and I don’t believe them or I feel like they’re just lying, trying to make me feel better. But at the end of the day, killing someone else isn’t going to fix that problem. What kills me is some of these guys are not only attractive but they’re white on top of that. I get where they’re coming from but some of them I don’t. I know what it’s like to be rejected, to be the butt of jokes, to wish that I was better looking - but none of those things could ever culminate in violence bc what does it solve? All of those same feelings will still be there the next day but I’ll be in jail.

I went through a severe depressive period in my life back in 2016 and 2017, and it brought my awareness of being single front and centre, because of how lonely I felt during that time. I never used to care before that, and actually quite enjoyed being on my own, while having close friends. During this period though, I became fixated on relationships, and because I was in such a bad headspace already, each rejection reinforced my persistent negative self-talk, and felt like a gut punch. It was already difficult for me to put myself out there, because I am socially awkward AF, and neurodivergent. And yes, at times, I did envy others who seemed to have no trouble dating at all.
But despite that, I never once hated women, or had violent urges in response to rejection. These people (incels) do not know how to process emotions like disappointment without covering it up with anger.
