  • how to fix resistive touch screen
    Fixing a resistive touch screen depends on the specific issue you're encountering. Here are some general steps you can take:
    Clean the Screen: Sometimes, the screen might not respond properly due to dirt, dust, or residue on the surface. Use a soft, lint-free cloth slightly dampened with water or a mild cleaning solution to gently wipe the screen. Avoid using harsh chemicals or abrasive materials, as they can damage the screen.
    Recalibrate the Touchscreen: If the touch screen is not registering touches accurately, you can try recalibrating it. Most devices have an option in the settings menu for touchscreen calibration. Follow the on-screen instructions to recalibrate the touch screen.
    Check for Physical Damage: Inspect the touch screen for any physical damage such as cracks or scratches. If you find any damage, it may require professional repair or replacement of the screen.
    Restart the Device: Sometimes, simply restarting the device can resolve touchscreen issues. Turn off the device, wait a few seconds, and then turn it back on.
    Update Device Software: Ensure that your device's operating system and firmware are up to date. Software updates often include bug fixes and improvements that can resolve touchscreen issues.
    Check Touchscreen Settings: Make sure that the touchscreen settings on your device are configured correctly. Sometimes, changes in settings or accidental adjustments can affect touchscreen functionality.
    Test with Gloves or Stylus: If you're having trouble with touch sensitivity, try using the touchscreen with gloves or a stylus. This can help determine if the issue is with the touchscreen itself or with your touch input.
    Perform a Factory Reset: If none of the above steps resolve the issue, you can try performing a factory reset on your device. Keep in mind that this will erase all data on the device, so make sure to back up any important information before proceeding.
    Contact Manufacturer Support: If you're still experiencing issues after trying the above steps, it may be time to contact the manufacturer's customer support for further assistance. They may be able to provide additional troubleshooting steps or arrange for repair or replacement if necessary.

    Fantastic. I always assumed the touch digitizer always needs to be replaced and when they fail. I will try this out.

    Thank you for the idea.
    I used similar method with a hair dryer on my car dash head touch screen which was not responsive after dismantling it from the car and took out the resistive glass panel. It worked and save me money from buying a new unit. However need to be careful as too much heat can warp the screen and heating the four sides with the metal strips and pressing the sides work better.

      My radio screen has a bubble, like it started to unpaste in the middle, so I can't touch a point because it seems to being touching another point, would work to heat up this part?

    This repair method was exactly what I planned to test when I hurt the touch screen of o robot teach pendant by accidently having dropped a metal part on it...

    how would the before and after x and y resistance readings be? thanks :)

    • @BetterBiomedChannel
      @BetterBiomedChannel  3 роки тому +1

      A contact point activation is a (x y) grid low resistance value. The lower x and lower y values = closer to grid 0,0 point which is the corner closest to the digitizer cable (usually)

    On an old GPS resistive touch screen, a white halo appeared about a month ago. Is there any way of getting rid of this round halo?
    Ocasionally the screen looses sensitivity and the hot air dryer trick solves the problem. Do you think the screen is reaching its end of life?

    very interesting video! Would this also work on a poorly responsive resistive touchscreen? I have a touchscreen on which the user has to press very hard before the screen detects that it is being pressed. especially in frequently used places on the screen. Maybe the layers can also recover in their entirety by heat and react better?

    • @BetterBiomedChannel
      @BetterBiomedChannel  3 роки тому +1

      Very possible. A resistive touch screen requires little pressure to activate. Look for defects in the outer layer.

    Would this likely work on non-touch screens too? Have a covidien kangaroo pump with a damaged screen that I can’t get a replacement screen/case for. Hoping to be able to rescue it :)

      Mainly, this repair will separate the layers of the screen so a critical error isn't created during boot up. It is possible to use light heat to help remove impact scratches and dents in the screen.

      I am trying to fix my bosch and Lomb machine touch and the heat method sadly did not work. I am getting another panel which is from a different manufacturer but same pin configuration and same wire method. Is there any chance that it can be incompatible? Is there any software lock on these things.
      Thanks a million
