Thank you so much, Karen! Oh that would be great to see you, Graham is so nice and always a friendly face when he’s in the isle! Do say hello if you get in! 😀
That’s so kind of you, Teresa, thank you! Aw Saucepan will love that - by all means, feel free to use any photos! His next video won’t be too long before it’s on its way to you 🐑💐
Buzby has turned out to be quite a handsome fella! I know it’s not feasible to keep the young males and that’s just another reason i couldn’t raise sheep. Thank you for another lovely video. it’s like taking a trip to your lovely island without leaving my chair.
Aw I’m so glad you enjoyed it, thank you! 💐 I do keep quite a lot of the males but they’re castrated so they don’t cause any problems with the ewes … apart from naughty Busby and a few of his ram friends! 😄
Rachel I'm so glad to hear about the new to you car, how kind of your friend! Market day is sad I know, but I hope your lambs bring a good price 🤞 Looking at your silage bales, do you think you'll have enough?I hope you will ❤ Agatha is so beautiful
Thank you so much, Cary! I don’t have enough bales from here on the croft but the chap in Shetland that I’ve bought bales from the last couple of years has got 150 set aside for me so hopefully that will get us through! 🤞💐
Your videos are a monthly highlight for me, Rachel. Speaking of adoptees, has Seraph gone off to market? And how will you process the bleached and black wool of Agnes?
That’s so very kind of you, Deb, thank you! Don’t worry, Seraph is here for life 🐑❤ All the fleeces will get a ‘once over’ at the croft with me, where I take off any poopy bits and remove as much vegetable matter as I can, then Uist Wool will work their magic at the mill and separate it into its different colours ready for blending 😀🧶
That’s so kind, Elissa, thank you 💐 Yes, I will always keep any caddy (hand-reared) lambs, so this year I have Mary, Mini-milk and Rosebud, and then I also kept Brandywine 🐑❤
A lovely episode Rachel ❤️ oh wow, your moon photos are probably the most spectacular i have seen ! You must have been a bit emotional about seeing your sheep off to market, no doubt thats the "way of things" Are you sending the laat 7 fleeces to the mill to be spyn also ? Im so looking forward to be able to purchase a skein or 3 😊 i do hope you get some more sunny days to enjoy as your Autumn weather is starting x❤
Thank you so much, Kim! Yes, I hate having to send sheep off 😢 I had made the decision a couple of years ago not to breed sheep for sale any more but, sadly, for the last couple of years rams have managed to get in with my ewes and so I’ve ended up with lambs that I don’t have room to keep. All of the fleeces will get stored until I have next year’s fleeces too, and then I’ll take the fleeces from 2023 and 2024 over to Uist Wool where they’ll be spun 😀🧶
It is always nice to see Rachel and her sheep even for a second time. I hope wheater is good on fair isle these days.
Thank you so much, Nicole! 💐
Love seeing your videos, Rachel!
Thank you so much, Lisa! 💐
Such a lovely episode, I love your postcards . Thank you Rachel 🏴
Thank you so much, Christine! 💐
Love your videos , hopefully get across with Graham ( plumber) one day to see Fair isle x

I love your videos so much! And I got a beautiful picture of Saucepan that I hope you don’t mind that I screen shot. He’s my adoptee. ❤

You are such a strong woman - physically and mentally!!
You do keep some of the lambs, correct?
